The Online Adventures of Hidi...

Hidi

Recommended Posts

Starts this Halloween!

I've been pretty burned out right now, so as much as I want to get this thread started, when I get around to actually working on it, I stare at a blank screen.

About the Hidi

What is the name Hidi from? Hidi was a fictional character, featured in Hidi's little stories in the days of very young.

The full name of the character was Hidi Crystel. That is why you see the other name in some of my aliases.

The name Hidi was used when I started playing RuneScape. I have used other aliases since, but Hidi has come back to me multiple times as the name I seem to use.

Hidi is a Communist Socialist.

It was said upon my frequenting of the SFO server that I, like all other people who reside in Canada are communists. But you see, Canadians don't like being called Commies, they liked to be called (At the best of times, mind you) Socialists.

When you are healed by Hidi in TF2, you are being treated with the very best of medicine. The cost is covered by your soul, errr your tax dollars to SFO.

Hidi carries the Socialist Manifesto to remind you that you always have a choice.

Hidi is addicted to Hexagons. Currently, not much is known about the drug, other than it increases your ability to memorize certain patterns, and increase the addict's reaction time. While it is predicted the lethality of the drug could be very high, this has yet to be scientifically confirmed.

Hidi writes in a mix of writing styles. Generally, the more garbled and l33t sp3@k the Hidi's text becomes, the more sarcastic the Hidi is. If Hidi is trying to type neatly, but is screwing everything up, then Hidi is not doing a good job at calming the hell down and putting proper hands down on the keyboard.

In the latter circumstance, you may yell at the Hidi and remind the Hidi to type finely.

I play competitive TF2, and I'm active the the UGC TF2 competitive scene. I currently lead a little team by the acronym of TAGC (Is all you need to know). Competitive TF2 has allowed me to learn the game at an astonishingly fast pace, and get to know other TF2 gamers interested in contributing to an overall team effort and having fun. It requires a lot of commitment, but when you see how far you have come from being a wimpy pubber, it's worth the effort you put in.

Hidi also doesn't swear a lot.

Hidi killed a heavy in competitive TF2. (Make that two, now)

Here is a collection of some of the famous tales of The Hidi.

The Star Fox Command Overdose

This was mere weeks before I joined SF-O. I had discovered the site not too long before, because I had regained my interest in Star Fox and I stumbled across this place while browsing the interwebz (Arwingpedia has too many references to here).

Anyway, I got the game, and I was playing it passively. I'm pretty sure the first ending I got was the one when Krystal stays with Star Fox then runs off to Star Wolf.

I was on a 10-hour bus ride early summer of 2012. I was waiting for the bus to get going, and in hopes of entertaining myself, I pulled out my DS and I started playing SFC. I didn't stop. I kept playing, unlocking endings and pathways until the battery light on my DS turned red (Because I am a wuss when my devices start to die). I estimated from how long I was on my DS and where I was on the road when I stopped that I logged about six hours of playtime that day.

Shortly after that trip I unlocked the ninth ending. I have not played through an entire level since.

The glitched cart

The first time I ever played TF2 with SF-O (And I think the first time I played TF2 at all!), I was playing your typical noob game. The User had over eight consecutive headshots on me phase.

So later on, it was just me, Psy, Sroberson, and some other person I don't remember. We were a couple rounds in, naturally Psy and anonymous were stomping on noob me and Sroberson (I'm sorry I sucked).

Srob and I were readying ourselves on Red.

The round started, but the cart just started moving! Psy and his buddy hadn't even left spawn, but the cart was already travelling away from it. Now all they had to do was kill us. There was nothing we could do to stop the cart. It just kept going, until it reached the end.

Well this is all for now. I do look forward to posting more tales of the interwebz.

People, it's official. I've got a real addiction to Hexagons.

I recently attempted to beat a score on a level that I suck at and I ended up with 311 seconds.

Fun times in the chatroom last night. I got a ton of nice moments. Heck, I've still gotta upload all the stuff from the last night we seriously tried, and probably almost did crash the chatroom.

Here's a teaser:

Ajc had his ass torn up.

So my interenet was incredibly slow the past little while.

We called our ISP and after switching some settings around BAM, it was extraordinarily better. But then a couple hours after that fix was made, the router started glitching and the main network doesn't connect to the internet. I'm lucky I'm able to scrape some internet and randomly post this. Why do I even bother?

I've got one question to ask from spending the past couple weeks with UGC players: WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE WANT TO PLAY EITHER SNIPER OR SPY?! What's wrong with that Demoman? Question limit exceeded. The Hidi must take drastic counter-measures.

Also, I recently noticed while updating my Steam profile that I met all the goals I set for myself on Super Hexagon. I'm not sure whether I should cry, or be so happy and avid as to make more challenging goals.

Hmm.... I'd think you'd Dominate me if we played against each other at TF2. I really am crap at it,

but you can blame the lag for that one.

Sniper and Medic were my first choices for TF2 classes, I didn't start playing soldier zealously until I found my Defiant Spartan helmet. Sniper just seems appealing, I suppose.

Oh, and people play Spy because Meet the Spy was awesome and we all want to be as good as the Spy in that video was.

Scout was one of my first choices, but for someone who doesn't come from a past of a ton of shooters, it's a little hard to jump into Scoot. I just started playing Medic a lot, and I found it was a class I could play, and both be satisfied with my performance and actually do well.

I'm seriously thinking whether I end up liking it or not, specializing more in Heavy just so I can teach people (Particularly Heavies) how medics feel when they don't spy-check (Damn tunnel-vision Heavies).

I thought of something I can`t resist putting here despite the fact that I will want to individually tell people later on.

I was playing Animal Crossing Wild World a while ago, and an animal asked me what my favourite body part was. "My rump" was an option.

The only reason your rating would be higher than mine is because you sit on it all day playing whatever suits you on a given day (Lately that seems to be Terraria).

I also learned today that apparently people called one of the older renditions of the CBC logo an "exploding asshole".

Pubber: We've got a screamer here, we better get rid of him.

DZ: Hidi is not a screamer! Be quiet!

Posting hiatus from SF-O done. Time to start finding words to put on this place again.

I noticed something while I was gone. Shen posted something in his journal topic about the lack of activity here. I have to agree, that's been getting to me more and more the past few months. I noticed this past summer, the times I was gone, when I came back, I missed a lot less than I did the previous summer when I went away.

Just this past week, I was logging on, but not posting. But even if I was, was there really that much to post about? Not really.

The past half-year has been a lousy one for posting. The first summer I was here, I was getting 10+ posts a day. I wanted to be the day's top poster, the one who contributed to as many discussions and topics as possible. But now, these past few months, I feel like there's nothing worth writing. Yeah, I know, it's the winter and activity is minimal in this season, but I'm not optimistic activity will pick up in the summer. How about it; enough topics to be worth 6-12 posts for 10+ members?

I played To the Moon recently. It's not so much a game, as it is an interactive story. It's like the point-and-click storybooks that I used to like playing when I was younger. The main characters are Dr. Watts and Dr. Rosalene. They have a procedure which allows someone to relive their entire life through memories, however it's the last thing this person will ever do. The character receiving this procedure is in his dying moments. He's allowed to have one major wish fulfilled; this one is going to the moon. You work your way backwards through his memories and then re-create his life from his childhood memories. It's hard to explain what makes this game the emotion-packed game that it is. Is it the unfortunate life-costing decisions that some of the characters make? Is it the abstract, sad past which he bears? It's hard to pin-point what exactly makes people think emotions when they play this game, but you feel it when you start playing the game. The soundtrack is also very calming.

Yea, Posting hasn't been slowing for the last half year, its been slowing for the last two. I large part of that is most of us don't have crazy time to contribute to the rec room, don't have a huge interest in talking about star fox anymore, and other things are found that are more important. I have to say our chat box is more lively than ever though.

I think I'll take some of the credit for getting the chatroom lively again, I mean, I was in there on and off from the day I noticed this place had one. I didn't realise though the reason people didn't like using it was because it was less convenient than the ShoutBox that used to be in its place. Then Chatroom Problems thread came along and suddenly people started going in there a ton!

During my two scrims last night with my TF2 team, I killed a Soldier who was at near full health, and firing rockets at me with my Overdose.

Triaft: Hidi, you're addicted to needles.

Mind you, after all the TF2 vids I watched (Thank you PsyCommando), I bet you are.
