Starfox Fridge Logic

TV Tropes defines "Fridge Logic" (link takes you to the page) as the following:

Spoiler
Quote

Half an hour after the show is over, a random viewer is staring into his refrigerator, vaguely bemused by the fact that his six-pack of beer has somehow become a two-pack of beer. Rather than work out how this might have happened, it occurs to him to wonder how in the hell Sydney Bristow went from Hungary to Melbourne, Australia, then to LA, all within 24 hours.

It didn't bother him during the show. It wasn't until he discovered he was running short of beer that it became an issue.

Fridge Logic has been the writer's-room term for these little Internal Consistency issues for a good while, as in "Don't sweat the Fridge Logic, we've got bigger fish to fry. We've only got 20 minutes left to work in three costume changes, a foreign language, and a weird wig." It refers to some illogical or implausible plot point that the audience doesn't realize during the show, but only long afterwards. This naming is highly subjective, since not every person follows the same train of thought. Some people will never even realise there was a problem, while others will call it a Plot Hole, since they already noticed the problem during the show.

It is always amusing to see what kind of things people find with any series, especially with inconsistencies. I have had a bout of Fridge Logic with Starfox recently: why don't the Arwings have tail guns? How do 4 mercenaries take out entire fleets of pirates? Why? How?

inb4 "It's just a game. Stop thinking too much. Accept it."

How do 4 mercs take out fleets of pirates?

Because they're the goddamned Star Fox team!

Maybe the pirates didn't have their coffee that morning, half awake when they got the drop on them.

Tail guns and 4 pilots defeating overwhelming odds isn't fridge logic. There is no leap in logic for the lack of tailguns on the Arwings, as they are modeled after jet fighter planes, and four pilots don't take out the ENTIRE Venomian force, they just punch a hole through them to go straight for Andross.

However, what IS fridge logic....

How come space levels have a "floor" and a "ceiling" despite being in a vaccuum?

Or like Orange said, where the heck did Andross get his army from to begin with? And all the weapons for it? Without anyone noticing?

Why does Fox scream after his Arwing explodes rather than while he's lost control of it? (I know it was fixed in Zero, but still...)

... Yes, logic please. I guess they figured that it would too dark if he had death wail before dying?
