Patch93
Educational games put apart, I don't remember exactly what very first game I did play. So here are two I recall being the earliest videogames I've ever played when I was 7 or 8, both on PC : - Pikto : At first it was a French TV game where kids call some people on the phone and play a character in a colorful world. It became a 3D game, an adventure game where you had to find Pikto coins, fight weird enemies a-la-Doom with weirder weapons ( I recall in the asian world you could throw Chinese porcelaine jars on Japanese MMPR-like dudes, or in the clown world your most powerful weapons were streamers...) and it was fun. But not as fun as the next game : - Jazz Jackrabbit 2 : JJ2 is my favorite game as well. It was one of the few PC games that could relate to Mario, Sonic, Megaman and Earthworm Jim. You control Jazz, a green hare and/or his red brother Spaz, in a psychedelic universe where you shoot tortoises and jetpack raptor lizardsin order to defeat the evil Dr. Devan Shell (who stole his fiancee's wedding jewel) throught time and acid jazzy madness. The graphics, the gameplay, the universe, the AMAZING soundtracks (by Alexander Brandon also known as Siren)... It's just a golden game! BTW, it was made by the same guys (at least the same company and the same game designer) behind the Unreal Tournament and Gears of War series. Hell yes, Jazz Jackrabbit FTW. Personally, I like the first game more despite it having terrible boss fights and weaker weapons, but the second game is still great. It's a shame the third game got cancelled though. *Sigh* what could have been. V_V

Rin
It was either Penguin Land for the SEGA Master System, or it was Doom 2 on the PC. Mostly likely Penguin Land.

Faisul
I can't actually remember the first video game I ever played (probably a NES game of some kind), but the first video game I ever owned was Super Mario World on the SNES. Goddamn, I still play it now and then on the PC. Funny how well it's kept up after twenty or so years.
Sarita
I think my first was Super Mario Bros 3. But at the time we also had Link to the Past and some other things like duck hunt I loved Putt Putt saves the Zoo. Best game ever.

Drasiana
I don't remember the exact first, I did play a bunch of those adaptation-education games on the PC like Land Before Time Math Adventures and Barbie Riding Adventure and whatever else. The first "real" game I played was Pokemon Blue, and the first console game was Zelda: Link to the Past.

Rik McCloud
I have memories of playing Super Mario Bros and Super Marios Bros 2 at friends houses. Also a racing game on the SNES I cannot remember the name of but the ones I have the strongest memories of are PlayStation era titles like V-Rally and ToCA Touring Car Championship. Thundercracker
Mine was Banjo Kazooie for the N64. I used to think that the N64 controller was the best one ever, until I realized I only had 2 hands.
DarthDelgado
I'm pretty sure the very first game I ever played was some shitty educational game on the pc involving a frog traveling aound the world... or something to that effect.

CrypticQuery
I need to find Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit that game was great. One of my fondest memories is going to Walmart and actually picking Need For Speed 3: Hot Pursuit out on a whim with my father. My parents divorced shortly after, and the game always reminded me of the past; I still have it to this day, complete in original jewel case with the manual. :)
