Snys93
This topic came to life much like the Furies of Greek mythology...violent chaos. No just kidding, not like that at all. Since the subsequent demise of Lucasarts, that same question has gone forth, "How will this effect the next installment of the Star Wars Battlefront franchise?" In this topic, feel free (but be civil) to discuss your expectations of the BF3 game (possibly) coming soon. Also you can discuss the previous games and your likes and dislikes of the series, favorite game mods and most importantly any helpful (resent) news regard new developments. We look forward to your post. May the force be with you.
manthony_Higgs
Battlefront wasn't developed by Lucasarts, they licensed it out to Pandemic (who I think went under a while back but I'm not sure.). Lucasarts' death won't affect future star wars games, Disney will just do what LA did, license out to other developers. Of course, this is me speaking with zip all info on BF three aside from it's original cancellation. edit for typos GORF FORF DORF
jeth
Battlefront II was my fist shooter; I have fond memories blowing up stormtroopers with my cousin for hours on end. We must have put 200 hours into that game the few years he lived over here. I have high hopes that we'll one day see Battlefront III.
CrypticQuery
they licensed it out to Pandemic (who I think went under a while back but I'm not sure.) Correct; EA shuttered Pandemic after their last game, The Saboteur. It was rather interesting to say the least. --- I've always loved Battlefront II though. Great campaign, incredibly fun to play with friends, and very immersive concerning Star Wars lore.
Arashikage
Pandemic is dead too. They were axed by EA, so they won't be making any games any time soon. You're right about how LucasArts didn't develop Star Wars Battlefront, but they did publish it, which means quite a bit. Disney will probably license it to another company, but the question is who. Now since Star Wars Battlefront was developed by Pandemic, which was an EA company, they might go with another EA company to develop it. I just hope freaking DiCE stays the hell away from it. I don't need the stupid "Frostbyte" engine in it, and I don't need them. Bioware might not be a terrible choice, but they haven't been notable for doing shooters. Their games were more RPG like. However, they have made notable Star Wars games(KOTOR anyone?). Visceral might be an okay choice, they aren't any strangers to the sci fi category with games like Dead Space, and they're certainly no strangers to shooters with games like James Bond 007 Agent Under Fire, 007 Everything or Nothing, 007 From Russia with Love, and Army of Two. Danger Close Studios(Formerly EA Los Angeles) might be good as well, responsible for games such as Medal of Honor Frontlines, Medal of Honor Rising Sun(AKA the best Medal of Honor game), and Medal of Honor Allied Assault: Spearhead, as well as most of the Command and Conquer games. Unfortunately, they're also the studios responsible for Medal of Honor from 2010, and Medal of Honor Warfighter, which might just break my trust in them. But if Disney licenses it out to another developer, who is going to be the one? If they go with Activision, I would hope that Treyarch and Infinity Ward stay the HELL away from it. I don't need them Call of Dutying up the place. It'll lead to a lazy and boring singleplayer with horribly unbalanced multiplayer that punishes players for being bad at the game. Although this is all speculation on my part. Seeing as how The ones previously working on BFIII are now part of 343 Industries, the ones responsible for Halo Reach, Halo 4 and Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary. I don't know what the future holds for Star Wars Battlefront, but let's hope it's a good one.

Snys93
I must admit the award weapons and bonuses in BF2 are awesome. I just wish BF3 has more to offer to pilot players.
Prince Elite
How I hope Battlefront 3 is made. Really, I hope that whoever becomes in charge of the license or whatever sees the value of making a next-gen shooter like this and cashes in on the opportunity. Because we have been waiting for this game for so long, and it is my sincerest wish to see it. I preferred Battlefront 2 over 1 because there was more content, better graphics. A more challenging campaign and storyline and it was awesome, at least in my opinion. I hope someone decides to continue the series because like Star Fox, the interest is there. Come on Disney! Snys93
Good news, next gen Star Wars game is coming out other than Star Wars 1313. The game is called First Assault which is a weird title but its a FPS and is designed to wet the fan's pellets for the Battlefront 3 release (which is still not official). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LW6ZvUO38Ks This is sign of good things to come.

Snys93
Maybe this Disney takeover is a good thing. Already we're seeing progress with Lucas out of the way.
Vy'drach
Except that now EA is the only one allowed to publish a Star Wars game.
Arashikage
And this could mean hell for Star Wars games. But at the same time, it might not. They have a new CEO and they haven't published anything with this new guy in power. Who knows.

Snys93
Now with the new trailer at E3, it seems our prayers have been answered. Its weird though that they're calling it just Battlefront and not Battlefront III. Oh well.
