TCPeppyTc
Hey all, Im looking for some good starfox fanfiction. It seems so tough to find! Not to offend any Starfox authors, but I find it rare to find an enjoyable Starfox Fanfiction compared to say Star Wars or Harry Potter. Can anyone give me some recommendations? psy_commando
Here are a couple : My favorite : http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1499459/1/Starfox-Phoenix-from-the-Ashes Here's one chao_leader made, which I really should have read an eternity ago, but he's a damn good writer : http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6476615/1/Star_Fox_Legacy and http://www.fanfiction.net/u/275434/Foxmerc And if you feel like reading comics, I know a guy that works on a very nice sympathetic comic: http://pkultimaga.deviantart.com/gallery/31856551
CrypticQuery
It could be said that the title of this thread is an oxymoron.

Ori
Eh, I actually loved a lot of fanfictions better than command, assault, etc.. Hey Psy, we all must agree that SF fanfic is low... But let's not cite things that bad. Anyway, I THINK I got something: There was this SF fanfiction (crossovers count?) in which crossed stories with Doctor Who. It was kind of weird, but in a good way. I can't remember the name, though... I just remember it didn't get quite finished. Whee, how helpful. Other than that anything coming out from the texts of Chaos_leader like cited by Psy there. Tell you what, pretty much all fanfiction you'd find here is good StarFox fanfiction. FK4
There's rarely any of it. And most of it is usually applied to couples so Fanfiction isn't very productive Hey Psy, we all must agree that SF fanfic is low... But let's not cite things that bad. Ori
There's rarely any of it. And most of it is usually applied to couples so Fanfiction isn't very productive Not wanting to sound hypocritical/oxymoronic, but try and find proper time to check the fanfictiction section of SFO, and you'll probably change your mind about that. I myself winded up hours straight reading SF fanon just on SFO. Not a regret.
psy_commando
There's rarely any of it. And most of it is usually applied to couples so Fanfiction isn't very productive He's not saying the contrary, just that he wants to know about good fanfic. And, the problem here, is that you're confusing shipping and fanfiction. Which, often come together, but still aren't the same.. Hey Psy, we all must agree that SF fanfic is low... But let's not cite things that bad. Anyway, I THINK I got something: There was this SF fanfiction (crossovers count?) in which crossed stories with Doctor Who. What about sonic fanfic, harry potter fanfic, twillight fanfic, and so on ? I doubt SF is the worst. Though, do fanfic starring only krystal count as sf ? Crossovers I can't stand anything that adds humans in the sf universe to be honest. Because, it tend to turn out really weird really fast.. And humans are overrated. And, Starfox : Phoenix from the ashes, is neat too, just saying. Totally not being annoying about it Not wanting to sound hypocritical/oxymoronic, but try and find proper time to check the fanfictiction section of SFO, and you'll probably change your mind about that. I myself winded up hours straight reading SF fanon just on SFO. Not a regret. What I find Ironical about what he says, is that Starfox is built with so many parts from existing writings and cultural content that in itself its no better than a fanfiction, in the sense that, they're all based on previous work. Only names, characters and settings changes.. (Actually, didn't the pilot in independence day called Bill Grey too ? And Monroe sounds familiar.. )
Snys93
Personally I tend to steer clear of crossovers. That last one with Anne Frank and Goku almost killed me.
Jcopper24
Well I cannot promise that it's good, but I'm writing a fanfic about the Cornerian soldiers during the Lylat Wars and the Aparoid Invasion. If anyone is interested I'm on Deviantart with this same username. There is little to no swearing and no mature content. There is shipping in a sense but that's more about character development than it is about the pairing. Give it a try, the first chapter is called "Lylat Wars: Sector Y Chapter 1"

Jcopper24
Much appreciated. Remember it was your collaboration that inspired me to write, so take some credit. Plus you submitted a character for the Aparoid section too.

Damigraffiti
I have encountered this fanfiction that I read about a month ago. Wow, he is indeed quite good in my opinion! Fanfiction: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/9049047/1/Crossed-Paths-Book-3-The-Final-Battle and the user: http://www.fanfiction.net/u/4350317/jon3s115 Kind of a sad story that I read about the damage that occured on Earth at the end. chaos_Leader
I'll be the first to admit that the notion of "good fanfiction" is pretty much a near-impossibility, and that the Star Fox ones are especially notorious for their poor quality. Between the horrible AU fics, the shipping crazes, whatever the latest fanfic fad is, and pretty much anything that directly connects Earth and the Star Fox setting, it's pretty much a festering literary cesspit. With that said however, there *are* a few out there that are readable, some that are even enjoyable. Here's my short list. - Tobias Umbra: has a few long-runners, and is still putting out work. Generally pretty good stuff from him. - Foxmerc: He's not active anymore, but his "One Death Away" story is still, in my mind, one of the best there is. It was my inspiration to write for Star Fox in the first place. - Victor Turdleman: His earlier work sucks, completely and utterly, no doubt about it. Why he's on my list though is because he's been improving over time, and some of his later stuff is pretty good. - Feuerstoss: For the record, this guy's "Zero Point" story is the one and only "Earth meets Lylat" fic I have ever read that didn't completely suck. Not the best story ever written mind you, but because it has the distinction of being an "Earth meets Lylat" fic that is readable, with a hard-working author, it gets to be on my short list. - chaos Leader: While I'm at it, I may as well toot my own horn here. I've bee told by a number of other people who read/review my work that it's pretty good, some even say it's among the best. "Star Fox: Legacy" in particular stands out as my main project, though I have a couple other smaller works as well. Anything by this guy; http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1308928/SyxxFox Hmmm... A hunting, beer drinkin' athletic guys guy who also is a Starfox nerd.... interesting combination! *Sigh* Unfortunately, from what I've gathered by trying to get in contact with him, he's also a raging narcissistic egomaniac. I've actually followed his story for a while, and I've seen his own, usually sycophantic fans turn on him and call him out when his writing quality took a nose-dive. His actual writing is okay, especially his earlier work, but it really feels clumsy and forced a lot of the time. It's dependent on characters flawed to the point of being completely broken and unbelievable, and several gimmicky plot setups. But hey, if you like cheesy, over-the-top grimdark action, then by all means, he's your guy.

I've been following SyxxFox for about a year or so, and i'll admit his later work "Spare Your Soul" is particularly rife with grammatical, spelling, and trope issues. It's a guilty yet unexplainable pleasure to read though - I suppose because it is one of those longer and developing stories and i've always been interested in seeing authors handle the events after Command. The first work "Armageddon Soul" is a bit better but as Chaos said, its all pretty grimdark and relies solely on all of the main characters being broken and full of angst. If that's your thing, i'd give it a shot. Only other author out of Chaos' list that I have read some of is Tobias Umbra. Can also be kind of angsty, but the plot and writing quality are better than SyxxFox's.

I'm tryna dig for some good fics too ,so if you've got any suggestions, let me know
