SPECIAL NOTE: This time around, recordings with excessive clipping, noise, or plosions will be rejected. These are not hard things to solve when you record, but are damn-near impossible to fix after recording. Watch the video here to learn how to fix them: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>

FILE NAMING CONVENTION

Please follow this file naming convention.

ep3-charname-clipnumber(4digits).wav

charname = the name of the character

clipnumber = a sequential count of recorded lines, in script order. MUST BE FOUR DIGITS. Use leading zeroes.

Example for Peppy's 17th line:

ep3-peppy-0017.wav

RECORD 1 LINE PER FILE

If you feel certain lines should be recorded in 1 file, ask me about it first.

File Submission

FORMAT

The files MUST be UNCOMPRESSED! That means WAV files! The final mixdown will be compressed. Re-compressing compressed audio reduces sound quality.

Submission

Use a file archiver to archive ALL lines of a character in ONE archive. If you are doing multiple parts, 1 character per archive file, please.

The archive may be any of the follow kinds: ZIP, GZip Tarball, BZip Tarball, RAR, or 7z. Anything that 7zip can open. If you don't have a file archiver, get 7-zip. It is what I use, so I will be able to open anything it makes. It is a Free Open Source archiver.

Naming Convention

ep3-charname.[ext]

charname - Character Name (Each character in its own archive, please)

ext is the file extension

Example for a zip file of falco lines:

ep3-falco.zip

Upload the files somewhere I can access them. Dropbox seems to have been the choice of most auditioners.

Remember:

Try to sound natural, as if you were actually in the situation presented. Speak smoothly, with the appropriate level of emotion. But, don't talk at 90MPH.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE

October 4, 2013

Hey Pgpaw and Executor (And you too DZ), if you want to do a readthrough of the script, I can add you to the Skype chat. So if you can, send me your Skype names? Just let me know if you're interested and I'll try and arrange time to use Skype since I have limited access to things like Skype right now.

I will record it ASAP. Right now I'm dealing with a cold. It's hard to modulate your voice when your throat hurts.

Just one thing I would like to ask... could you just read only my nickname in the credits, so only rennardfuchs? Thanks :-P

General Pepper

Falco Lombardi

Here are my lines. I ran into some mis-numbered lines for Falco starting at line 19. The lines in the .rar archive should be correct.

It will only let me play those in the browser. Can you put them in a zip so I can download them?

Is there no "Open in Drive" button.

Even if there is, here's my zaps.

Hey DZ, can I try and get them to you by tomorrow evening? I've had significantly fewer chances lately to sit down quietly and record.

If any of you know how to get ahold of Fana, can you please remind her? She's the only one I'm waiting on.

Anyway, I cut together a version of Karl L. King's Walking Frog march using a couple of N64 soundfonts. I think I will use it as Slippy's theme.

If you've never heard the march, here it is:

You'll have to wait until the episode drops to hear the N64 version.

Have you tried contacting Fana on Skype, either directly or via SFOCast chat group?

If for whatever reason she cannot submit her lines, I am willing to fill in.
