[SOLVED] Skype Login Not Showing

Gestalt

Question

I've skimmed the first page of bing to no avail, and I'm getting sleepy tired. Anyone here encountered or know a fix for this?

OS: win 8.1

IE version: 11.0.9600.17031

Recently used a restore point, not sure if it was working before.

Re-install does not change anything.

That's the only folder you get when you go into Skype? In my files there are 5 folders. 4 of those number ones and then the Apps folder.

This has some of the other fixes by the way.

http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-desktop-client/Skype-not-displaying-logon-screen/td-p/1720963

Try Below:

Exit Skype.

Go to, C:ProgramDataSkypeApps folder

Rename the folder login to login1.

Now try running Skype.

There's just the answer. If that one doesn't work google had a few other links with different solutions too.

First link on Google. Stop using Bing.

Problem being, only the available path I see is C:ProgramDataSkype{7A3C7E05-EE37-47D6-99E1-2EB05A3DA3F7}Skype.msi

I ran the path "C:ProgramDataSkypeApps", says windows can't find it

I find it hilarious that a program by a Microsoft subsidiary doesn't have a digital signature.

The way windows 8 hides "run anyway" makes it even more hilarious. Nice to know I'm protected from Microsoft by Microsoft.
