InfinitySquared
Specifically, these three pages: That's some Norman Bates-level creepiness right there. God this comic is weird. Edited May 26, 2015 by InfinitySquared
Dr. Orange
The hell of a jellyfishes ass.Fox shows Fara his old bachelor apartment/hole.Fox, being the playa he is, convinces Fara to get shiggy with in some light wear. High fives all around.Fox then "Damn, my girlfriend looks like my mom." The awkward meter moves into "Very Weird.""Man, ... if my Dad saw you he'd hit you like the US hit Normandy! ... But don't worry they're both dead."And after all that there's a chance Fox's mom might have had either a shigdig or affair with Andross.I just ... I ... pls no.
psy_commando
Well, the story was written by a slightly creepy, leopard printed clothe wearing eccentric, with a limited understanding of western culture ^^; (No offense to Mr Itoh)Not to mention, it seems like a lousy and awkwardly executed plot device to give Fara a role other than being on the ground and watching Fox and the others have all the fun. They seem to have wanted to go with something close to a Disney movie with this comic strip in general. For instance, that robin hood animated movie comes to mind. That bard randomly singing Fox's tale, the glass case with the robe in it being reminescent of snow white and shtuff, not to mention Fox being referred to as a chivalresque thief imply he's more or less acting like a knight out of honor and etc.. And of course, the classic damsel in distress trope pops up, with the chivalresque thief doing the saving. But then, things became complicated once the readers had grown up into adult nerds
StarFoxMaster64
Nintendo power had some very and I mean VERY odd editors. They did some good, bad, then there was just some really strange things. Whether it was comics or those cheesy jokes they used to make... Oh goodness the horrors are returning. On a side note, the last Nintendo Power I read was the Star Fox Adventures article... I was a kid whom was like "Rareware is making the next Star Fox?!? Sweet!" After that bad situation I kind of stopped reading this magazine. And after all that there's a chance Fox's mom might have had either a shigdig or affair with Andross.I just ... I ... pls no. Oh please no...............

She's a woman and obviously loves clothes more than life itself! Duhhhhh! Also, I just love how pleased Fox looks when he says "If dad saw you like this, he'd drop dead! That is, if he wasn't stuck in the black hole!". Also , gotta love the random bolded words. I love it when comics do that, I really do. The old Sonic comics did that a lot, and I think they did it in The Hardy Boys books as well, and it was amazing. Why? Because I've always read that stuff in my head as the narrator/character just screaming the words at the top of their lungs and then saying everything else as normally as can be. Alternatively, anything italicized was said as sexily as possible, preferably with a Spanish accent, and anything underlined was completely robotic. Seriously, try it sometime. Suddenly, even the shittiest writing becomes bearable. Edited May 26, 2015 by InfinitySquared
Patch93
Let's be honest, the third chapter of the Itoh comic was easily the weakest the of the bunch. IMO, the writing and overall enjoyability compared to the first two parts of the comic just seemed take a major nosedive in quality. True, the first two parts were cheesy, but they were like the first five episodes of the 1987 TMNT cartoon in the sense that they were cheesy but still very enjoyable. This third part just went full on goofiness.
Vy'drach
iirc Andross was in love with Fox's mother, and attempted to murder James and Fox via a car bomb so she'd be his and his alone, but she borrowed his car that day and that is how she was killed when Fox was young. Robert Monroe
Honestly, I don't see why this is so weird. Fox shows Fara is vigilante man cave, asks her to put on his mom's old dress because he's being a wooer, she reminds him of his mom and he remarks that if James saw her he'd be amazed at the similarity. I mean, you can read way too hard into this and find some Opedius complex shit or whatever but I think that's giving the SNES comic a little too much credit as a serious narrative and not just a goofy high flying space adventure. And yes, the part with Andross is because Andross was in unrequited love with Vixy, and he tried killing James to get to her, but his plan backfired and killed Vixy instead. His seeing Fara dressed in Vixy's old dress makes Andross (or at least the emotional clone of him) get soft and nostalgic.

DZComposer
The thing I find funny is that if you look at the picture of Vixy that Fox is holding, she looks nothing like Fara. Also, Andross' fleet must be falling on hard financial times. Seems they can't even afford color monitors on their core bases. Edited May 26, 2015 by DZComposer

CrypticQuery
The thing I find funny is that if you look at the picture of Vixy that Fox is holding, she looks nothing like Fara.I was hoping that someone would mention this. Unless Fox was ridiculously myopic (and that's ruled out because he has a photograph), they really can't be said to resemble one another that much based upon the photo.I'd also like to add that I appreciate the fact that the illustrator portrays Fox as a fox much better than Nintendo does now; he looks far too much like a Shiba Inu in recent iterations. geoprimedonna
God this comic is weird. Nntendo itself is wierd. Since when do plumbers fight dragons to save a princess and use dinosaurs to get there and fights turtles and mushrooms? Since when will aliens fight with GMO and non-GMO humans in this world in a few centuries? Since when do bounty hunters fight Furby-looking creatures? Since when do elves attack chickens for fun...? Since when do people interact with furry animals in a city dominated by these furries? Since when do furries enter into dogfights against a monkey? Since when does a pink puffball fight an awkwardly colored penguin 3 times his size? The whole story seems odd, but I like it anyways?
DZComposer
This is the guy who drew this comic:As you can see, he has a thing for leopards and for unusual guitars (or ukelele in this case). An electric harp guitar appears in the Star Fox comic. And yes, he can play: Stick around after Itoh plays to hear an awesome big band arrangement of Bob-omb Battlefield. He was apparently the Emcee for this event. He later has a conversation with Koji Kondo and Shigeru Miyamoto. I really wish I understood Japanese. I'd love to know what was said. He's quite a character I've heard. Here is his website: http://benimaru.com/index.php (WARNING, SOME CONTENT IS NSFW) Edited May 27, 2015 by DZComposer

He did the manga Ness' Adventure for EarthBound/MOTHER 2 in Japan, a manga for the Metroid series in NP and a few Pokémon comics. In fact, one of the existing Mewtwo card has HIS ARTWORK. It is a very rare card, since it's the only one with his artwork. For some reason, I think if the like certain panthers... Heh heh.

Drasiana
I don't think the Oedipus thing was exactly an attempt to be a Deep Narrative Thing so much as it was a slightly creepy way of setting up the "Andross loses it because Fara looks like Vixy" thing. If a dude that wanted into my pants got really excited about how much I looked like his mom I'd be a little weirded out.Though I remember the first time I read the comic, for some reason I came away from that plot point convinced that Fara was actually a clone of Vixy and there was a sort of Luke 'n Leia thing going on there, which I actually still kind of prefer tbh
