Katheeri

Zefran ran with her, relieved that they had an out to all of this. He heard shouting behind him and knew they had to pick up the pace if they were going to get out of here. Knowing now that that girl had somehow healed him, he took the lead, Amelia tight in his grasp.

"Here, follow me!" He whipped through the halls, taking as many turns as he could to lose them until he found stairs. If only he had a weapon, he could probably scare someone into giving up their ride the way Antoine had showed him. Antoine...he hoped he was okay.

"Try to keep up." he told Amelia as they hurried down the stairwell together, "I'll keep you safe, I promise."

"Hey, Zefran, you'll be safer with us than... her," pleaded Pawel, chasing after them. The Katheeri and the stranger tagging along with him tried to shake him by darting throughout the halls, but he managed to stay on their tail, that is, until he ran into a patient on a wheelchair and the nurse escorting him. He collided with them, knocking the man out from his transport, with the nurse attempting to cushion his fall and stabilize him.

"What the Hell, man!" the nurse yelled.

"Sorry!" said Pawel, rushing to catch up. He saw then dash into the stairway, and stumbled along to follow them.

Amelia followed closely behind Zef as they ran through the labyrinth of hallways. First, that Ashley girl (if that's even her real name) tried to beam Zef up. Then, some... motherfucker--she couldn't even describe who she saw--burst through the window and started a brawl with the guards. Now, Amelia was running through the hospital with Zef due to some hare-brained idea she had. She has no idea what she was doing, but she would just go with the flow, wherever the flow went.

"I have a car," Amelia said slightly winded from running. "It's in the parking lot outside the front entrance."

Star Tiger were now fully split up, though Tiger had followed Pawel for a bit as they chased Zef and Amelia.  Tiger decided to try and cut the two off by taking a different split.  Unfortunately, he wound up taking a lot of twists and turns, dodging nurses and patients as he made his way through.  He finally rounded another corner, only to see Zef and Amelia going towards a stair well. "Stop!" Tiger called to them. "You don't know what you're doing!!!" He had to try, he'd be damned if he didn't, as much as he knew it wouldn't work.

Hawk was finishing up restraining Sitka when he heard Shep ask him a question. "Yeah, it sure is a bad time..." He said, "If you could maybe help me by getting this guy up to a chair or something?"

-----------------------

"Well, this is a fucked up situation." Sven said, "They could be anywhere."

"I bet you they'll try a vehicle." Jess replied to him, "Come on, let's get to the parking lot, they'll show up there sooner or later." The doberman woman grabbed Sven's hand as she ran down, getting some protest from the german shepherd.

"Alright alright!" He said.

(OOC: That feel when covering for Orange)

With the new subject down and secured, Alek slipped into the washroom to deal with any glass that was stuck in his arm, or anywhere else for that matter. It was more than likely, unless Zefran had any trickery like that black Katheeri had used to get away with, he'd potentially have two test subjects to work with.

But, what if he got away? The uncomfortable thought crossed the german shepherd's mind as he plucked out pieces of glass.

Well, no matter, a bird in hand was better than two in the bush. Plus, if things were indeed going as they seemed, they wouldn't just leave the armored one behind.

----

"I'll do my best." Shepherd said with a nod, before walking over and positioning herself at the armored man's legs, then reached down got a good grip. Doing her best to make her voice come out as uncertain as possible, the vixen spoke up again.

"When you're ready, sir." Despite probably not having to much trouble with heavy lifting under normal circumstances, she figured any normal teen her apparent age would, so she'd have to make a show of this.

Renard would pull himself out of bed a few moments later. as much as it was nice to rest his aching limbs and nurse his aether exhaustion he had to catch up to the crew, lest he be left behind.

He pulled a shimmering blue phial from his pocket and slammed it back, retching at the taste. Drakesbreath was a horrid herb but it made some of the best medicine.
It would be a few minutes before he found himself on the ground floor and in the streets of a bustling settlement.

at this exact moment Renard came to the uncomfortable realization that he had no leads.

(OCC: Oh Sy you even got the Orange Text <3)

Alek emerged from the bathroom. Light bleeding was dripping but for the most part the paper towels in the bathroom did the trick. He saw Shep and Hawk getting ready to pick up the party crasher. "Here let me give you a hand." He said as he motioned to them. As he walked he paid not of the IV fluid and everything that as plugged into. He could get samples with them.

The air stung his arm. First the two are getting away and the injury that opens himself to the outside world. He clenched his fist to ease the pain.

As he got into lifting position he remembered ... "THEY'RE IN A HOSPITAL!"

He got up, grabbed the phone with a touch of haste "This is room 204. We have a code Blue!"

"A code blue call can help us to make sure he's secure, but we can lift him ourselves well enough." Hawk said as he nodded to Shep. "On three then, one, two, three." Hawk said as he then started to lift up Sitka, letting Shepherd help him hoist the katheeri up onto a bed in the room that wasn't occupied previously by Zefran.  Without knowing it though, he'd be giving her exactly the opening she'd need to get what she wanted to prove herself to her superiors.

The vixen found as they lifted, making a show of things would come a little easier than first thought as Shepherd misjudged the weight the armored fellow. Through a series of grunts and other less than flattering noises of exertion, Shepherd mirrored the avian mercenary's motions as they carefully lifted the man onto a nearby bed.

Once the job was finished, the girl examined the. Her first thought was that he was an opposing operative, but the armor design suggested something different, it was a bit too... alien.

She found herself wondering if... no, that would be much too convenient. Her focus shifted up and between the two others in the room, she needed answers and judging by the blood on the german shepherd's arm, one of them had them had the information she wanted.

"What exactly... happened here?" Shepherd selected a question from a quickly growing list in her head, she figured it would be innocuous enough to start, "Um, that is... if you don't mind the question."

Alek hung up the phone and took a deep breath and ran his fingers through his forehead. How the hell is he going to explain all of this to the hospital and to ... wait. He turned to half way face her. It was that vixen again. It was obvious now that she was more than she seemed. Yet maybe there could be more benefit to letting the ruse of obscurity continue. I mean every second those Idiots run around the hospital they attract more attention. They'll make the nightly news no matter what by now, maybe secrecy has failed. He tried to hide his worry.

"Well, it seems our patient is a mythical creature with a target on his head. And now he's running through the Hospital."

"O-oh, I see," Shepherd feigned a look of surprise and guilt that would normally come with being told you've run over a unicorn. While the german shepherd hadn't said any information she wasn't already privy to, the fact that he freely parted with what the Katheeri was (albeit vaguely), was a good sign for the vixen.

"This fellow, is he the reason that boy is on the run?" The cerinian asked as she turned her attention back to the restrained one in question.

"Can't say for certain," Alex said with a shrug of his shoulders and a wry look. He motioned towards the two with interest in this weird being. "Thankfully your accident turned to an opportunity for him." He tapped his fingers on the armor. It was cold and alien, but unique like a work of priceless art. Truly fascinating and luckily pervious to long hypodermic needles.

"If I may pry," he said with a breathy, low voice, trying to discourage listeners "what's your invested intent with all this?"

Well, that certainly made it clear that he recognized her, the vixen noted, she'd expected that at some point. Though, what the canine whispered afterwards caused a moment of panic to flood the vixen's mind, a feeling which was replaced with anger... Where had she gone wrong? Shepherd was certain her acting was convincing enough for most people.

Her hand clenched into a fist, most people indeed being the key words here. It was natural that she'd be only one out of many spies, operatives and all types of cloak-and-dagger sorts swarming around such a VIP, she supposed that either through paranoia or intuition, you'd get good at telling when someone was just being nosy or was carrying out a hidden agenda.

Through personal experience, Shepherd knew she would now be monitored no matter how good a cover story she made, lying now would be pointless.

"Any 'normal' girl would bring flowers to the someone she'd harmed." She said in an equally hushed voice as she reached under her jacket and retrieved the flowers she'd stolen from earlier (distastefully, Shepherd noted the pitiful state they were now in), then placed them on the bed Zefran had previously occupied.

"Though any who 'normal' would apply wouldn't quite appreciate the potential that trust from a Katheeri would represent." He seemed to be allowing her to continue her guise of innocence, she'd at least honor that.

"What are you two yappin' about?" Hawk asked as he double checked the restraints on Sitka's wrists and ankles.  At the very least, should the big Katheeri wake up, he'd be restrained.  Though those two canids were being kind of suspicious...  Hawk decided to just be his usual annoying self, that way, he could keep them thinking he was just a jock or something.  Kola'd give him some serious lip if he chose now to discard her stealth lessons. "Aside from tall, dark gruesome here, I'm the only one around here.  Still, this sure is some mess we're all in now...  Pepper's gonna chew our asses off for this..."

"Hey... Hey!" Pawel still attempted to reason with the two runaways. He was most certainly not going to let them get away, especially after his father saddled Zefran into his responsibility. Then he spotted a CDF guard.

"Hey! Private! Seal off all the exists, and have men keep watch on the parking lot and the parking garage!"

"Yes, sir!" said the guard, who rushed off to his compatriots.

"At least I get to boss people around again!" he said to himself as he continued pursuing Zefran and his accomplice.

"Okay, we'll head that way then." Zefran panted as he streaked down the stairs with her.

Stopping at the door to the first floor, he stopped and cracked it open slightly to see who might be in the hall. He hissed as he saw security hurrying to secure doors. His mind raced as he changed his plan some. He looked behind the, to see the emergency exit. He knew the alarm would sound if he opened it, so they would need to move fast.

"Stay close. I'll get you out of here." He told her, bursting through the emergency door and into the outside world. If they could make it through the parking lot unseen, they had a chance.

"General Pepper?" Alek exclaimed, "General Pepper wouldn't stop sucking on those lollipops to even sniff an ass!" He exclaimed. Alek wasn't a big fan of the general. He memories of dealing with the CDF had him excited to the point he forgot all about Shep.

Alek moved to a revolving chair to the pharmaceutical cabinet and opened it back up. He had been getting used to breaking the electronic lock that he didn't really conceal the action. He took out two vials, both clear and a syringe. He then proceeded to roll and fill the syringe and leave the vial in his pocket. He scanned the armor for where he injected the beast before and was readying the needle.

Pawel rushed into the stairwell, hearing the alarms sound off and hurried footsteps rushing away downstairs. Figuring that he would have no time to run down the stairs, he leaped down the stairwell, using his wings to glide down and land safely. He dashed out the door, spotting Zefran and the woman with him running through the parking lot. He ran after them.

"Stop! Hey! Cornerian Defense Force!" Pawel yelled. "Lady, you are about to experience pain on a whole new level if you don't stop!"

Tiger cursed under his breath, this was not going well.  When he saw Pawel jump down the middle of the stairs in the stair well, he knew that trying to keep up with Zef and the woman would be much harder.  He had to make one very dangerous decision.  Spotting a window, he ran to it, hoping it was one that could be opened.  As it was armed with an alarm, it was one of those windows.  Knowing the alarm was already set, he kicked it open, and then jumped out.  The fall was faster than he expected, and it made his fur temporarily turn paler, but he managed to land on his feet with a loud grunt, and loud CLANG from the metal parts of his boots colliding with the ground, as he allowed himself to crumple in a controlled way as he rolled forward and back into a run.  He then heard Pawel shout out a threat to the woman, but decided not to waste his own breath.

-----------------------------

"Yeah, well the General personally hired us." Hawk said with some obvious irritation at Alek's statement. "A pretty bad screw up like this is going to get a chew out, I'm sure of that." He then noticed what the German Shephered was doing, "What are you doing?  Are you even sure of how this guy's physiology works?  What may work on a Lylatian could prove fatal to him.  Hell, for all we know the stuff you injected into him could wind up putting him into cardiac arrest any moment..."

"Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit!!" Amelia practically screamed. "Oh my god, what was I thinking?!" But it was too late to stop now. She knew for a fact that the Sclav dragon was going to kick her ass from here to Sector Z. "What are we going to do? You think we can make it to my car?"

And even if they did, would they still make it out of there?

"Lady, running will only make things worse for you!" Pawel incessantly hurled threats at the lady as she fled with Zefran. He was so focused on catching the two of them that he did not notice a sedan pull out of its parking space and its inept driver begin to leave the lot.

Until it hit him. Literally.

While it was indeed little more than a love tap, it was enough to trip him up and send him to the ground. He struggled to get up, still in moderate pain from his facial lacerations and the scrape he received yesterday.

"Holy f--k!" he blurted out.

Tiger saw Pawel go down, but he didn't stop to help him.  He knew the major would simply tell him to continue after those two anyways.  Plus, it simply wouldn't do to have a Katheeri slip through their grasp.  So Tiger simply vaulted over the car, and continued on his way. "Stop right there you two!" He shouted at them. "You're making things worse by running!  Stop and listen to reason, before someone else gets hurt!"

Alek turned and looked at Hawk for a second. His eyes fluttered around the room and settled back on Hawk again. There was a slight pause and then injected the needle through the gap and into the creatures neck.

"Oops."

The creature started to come to life again. Faster breathing, some muscle twitches and eyes rolling under the lids. He was peacefully coming out of it. Until Alek gave a couple light slaps on his cheeks and sat down.

'Cerinian issues' was what Shepherd had wanted to answer the bird with, but the words died on her lips as the doctor... well, threw caution to the wind, at least that was the nicer way of putting it. Her first instinct was to grab the doctor's arm (Hawk having confirmed her thoughts as to what was in the armor), but she suppressed that and simply took a few steps back and watched.

Despite the restraints the armored creature had on, her hand hovered where her photon saber was stashed away, any tricks he may try when he woke she'd need to be quick to counter.

That was assuming the Katheeri wouldn't just die moments later.

"You reckless little..." Hawk said, getting a bit cross, and hovering his hand over his blaster. "You're gonna get us killed at this rate.  What about that do no harm schtick?" IT was beginning to become clear to Hawk that this "doctor" may not be actually licensed, what with how reckless he was being.  It was too bad that everyone else was distracted, and he was by himself.  However; even if he did have back-up, he didn't think he'd need it.  The girl was simply a civilian, and this "doctor" didn't look that tough, very quick, but he could take him.  But the katheeri, now that would require some help.  He had to be careful to choose his moment though, having seen how fast Alek could be, he'd need to be focused on Alek.  So calling for back-up for the katheeri would have to be done at the right moment.
