First off, I have become one with the internets, and thus am now GOD.

Second, I can extract models from Starfox 64, Adventures, and Assault.

Right now I have the Arwing (looks surprisingly stumpy, my friend said it reminded him of a mosquito) and the Cornerian gunship. I will rip more models soon, but until I upgrade my RAM from 512mb to 2gb, it's ganna take a while to get some of the good stuff (like the Wolfen and Greatfox) I also plan to rip Fox, Krystal, the Arwing, and Greatfox from Adventures.

Just how are you doing all this?

All he does is use a program that dumps all DirectX Direct3D (or OpenGL, there are ones for that too) renders on-screen into a 3DS or other 3D modeler's file format.

You fire up an emulator, run the game from a ROM dump or disc image and then fire up the D3D ripper and voila.

I've done a similar thing with N64 ROM dumps, except that was built-in to the emulator and only saved VRML.

Maybe this program can be used to grab that texture from the GreatFox bridge where there was that poster that we were trying to figure out who it was of.

The poster is there in the main menu right? If so I can easily do it. I am also trying to figure out the file format used in the games so I can just extract the files straight from the ISO, but that will take a while. Plus I may need to do some tweaking with the models, as I said, the Arwing looks really stubby and the Cornerian gunships look skewered when looking at them from pretty much any angle except from the side.

Does anyone know if the Greatfox multiplayer map is there to begin with in Assault, or do I need to unlock it?

You don't have to unlock the Great Fox map. Let me know when you extract Krystal. ^_^

>_<

Someone should really try and formulate a good looking Ar-Wing out of LEGO's. One that can fit a figure and a lightsaber or something...... I don't care how the colors look..

OK, turns out I CAN'T extract models from Adventures because the emulator can't load it, which means I need to find a way to extract the files from the actuall ISO >.<

::EDIT::

I've done some browsing through the ISO and have found that following files under the Greatfox Folder (and several others):

MODELIND.bin

MODELS.bin

MODELS.tab

I'm pretty sure that's where the models are stored, I just don't know how to get the models into a format readable by 3DS Max

I think those three files make up a database.

MODELIND.bin - Indexes

MODELS.bin - data

MODELS.tab - table structure

Though they really could be anything. The bin extension is a generic binary file extension. By itself the extension means nothing.

The tab extension is common in proprietary databases as table data or structure. It isn't in MySQL, which uses the FRM and MYI extensions.

They're likely encrypted, so good luck.
