Antoine growled in response, jaws clenching and teeth grinding together furiously. Despite the show, he stomped over to his seat and slouched into it with a huff, swearing under his breath.

Zane did his best to ignore him despite the fact Antoine sat next to him in the back of the room. He opened his spiral and clicked out a small shoot of lead from his mechanical pencil.

Sven rose for the Cornerian pledge out of respect, despite knowing none of the words. Afterwords he sat back down and looked around him. The small stone around his neck slightly bounced as he looked around the now full room.

"Heh-heh," Amelia chuckled under her breath at the student who walked in late, "some people never learn." Though in all honesty, she was no angel herself, as she is known to get in trouble for playing with her phone in class.

"So, my childs," began Mr. K., walking towards the front of the class from his desk, carrying his laser pointer, which also controlled the slideshow he put up on the holo-board. "Today, we're continuing on the Alemanian Wars. Anyone remember from yesterday the names of the kings?" He smiled as he held a bag of candy, and took a piece out of it.

Mr. K. pointed at Sven, still smiling, and still holding the candy.

"Sven-o, go!" he said enthusiastically.

Amelia was about to raise her hand, when Sven beat her to the punch. At that same time, her phone vibrated. Picking it up off the corner of the desk, she unlocked it to read the message and chuckled as she typed up a response.

"Is" he thought "Solomon and Gregor?" Be sounded like an idiot in the silent class room with his thick accent

"Ehh..." Mr. K's ears lowered themselves in disappointment. "No," he said. "They're later. Anyone else?"

He then spotted Amelia on her phone, which irked the feathered teacher. He pointed his laser at her. "Hey Amelia. Get off the phone."

Amelia looked up like he'd said something slightly obscene. "Ugh, fine..." She obliged by putting her phone away in her purse.

Sven sat a little lower in his seat after missing the first question . He felt as if he embarrassed himself.

"Anyone else?" Wladyslaw, rolling his eyes, raised his hand. Mr. K. pointed at him with his laser pointer. "Wladyslaw, go!"

"Adalbert of Bayern, Hans the Sachsen, and Irmhild Ironsides, " Wladyslaw said confidently.

"Yes!" said Mr. K, tossing a mini R-bar at Wladyslaw, who flawlessly caught it. "Now, can anyone other than Wladyslaw tell me why they fought between each other?"

Amelia cleared her throat and added on to what Wladyslaw said: "Also, Alemania broke up into three different parts, right? That was after Frederick the Bloody, the king of Alemania at the time, was assassinated, if my memory serves correct. His children, Adalbert, Hans, and Irmhild began trying to blame eachother for the death of their father, and thats when the dookie hit the fan. The whole thing erupted into war."

Antoine felt his head reeling with all the information being spouted, but he wrote everything he heard as fast as he could into his spiral.

"Ah," he raised his hand, "How do you spell Irmhild?"

Zane listened to the lecture but had no intention of answering questions.

Mr. K. raised his right eyebrow, suspicious that Amelia in fact got that information from looking at her phone. Nevertheless, he threw her a mini R-bar.

"So..." continued Mr. K. "Yeah, Alemania went through about thirty years of fighting, so the country and people were wrecked. Our good friend, Adalbert," Mr. K. pointed at Adalbert's portrait on the holo-board with his pointer. Adalbert was a regal looking white-ish golden retriever, with a flowing gray cape over his chainmail armor. "Yeah, he needed some money to help rebuild Alemania. So, he traded," Mr. K moved the show forward, "with these guys." The slide show was now on Gaul.

"Elizabeth," said Mr. K., pointing at her. Elizabeth's ears shot up. "You're from here. Describe."

"Well, Gaul is a pretty big country with a bunch of hills, forests, and a big coast," said Elizabeth. "We're known for wine and pottery."

"Yeah," reinforced Mr. K. "The Gallic people are known for making the best wine in Corneria, and I myself have tried it, and it really, really, really good." He then looked around the classroom. "Nobody drink it until you're old enough to," said Mr. K.

"Mister K," Amelia chuckled, "You know good and well that at least half of us drink underage. But you know, I supposed you have to set a good example and at least say not to do it."

Vlady chuckled a bit at the teacher's admission of his love for fine wine. He decided he like him, although he had no idea what he was.

He stayed quiet, however. He loved the subject but, until he was called upon, he would not answer.

Sven slightly shuffled in his seat, his mother had told him about Gaul before she, no, it's best not to think of that here, lest he break down in the middle of class on his first day

Vlady looked across at Sven, wondering where he was from. He seemed like a citizen from the socitsist bloc however not Venom. MacBeth, possibly Fortuna.

He decided he would look into him later but, at the moment, Mr. K was his primary focus.

Zane chuckled at the remark from the teacher. Mr. K could give an entertaining lecture.

Antoine sighed in frustration as his question went unanswered. He fudged the spelling, hoping he would remember to look it up later.

Bohdan, noticing Antoine's frustration with his unanswered question, stood up and walked all the way to Antoine's seat. He bent down.

"It is spelled, I-R-M-H-I-L-D," said Bohdan.

"Bohdan," said Mr. K, slightly annoyed by Bohdan's sudden interruption of the class. "Sit down." Mr. K pointed his laser at Bohdan.

"'Kay, K," Bohdan answered, starting back to his seat. Mr. K opened a drawer and took out a carrot. He bit off a large piece of it and began chewing it with his mouth open, knowing that Bohdan hated chewing with one's mouth open.

"'Kay," said Mr. K, still chewing. Bohdan hurried to his seat and placed his hands over his ears. Mr. K swallowed. "Okay, where was I? Oh yeah, the Gauls...."

Thoroughly embarrassed, Antoine did his best not to attract attention, hiding his face with a hand while he wrote down the correct spelling.

Jolene covered her mouth to mask the sound of her laugh at Bohdan's antics. He was strange but oddly charming.

Sven had been taught very little about the culture of the Gauls, but from what his mother told him it wasn't unlike their own. He leaned forward slightly, headphones plugged into the small translator on his wrist.

Amelia sat in her seat in the front row, meticulously inspecting her nails, as if she couldn't be bothered with what Mr. Kolacsai was talking about. Truth be told, she did the homework, as well as a little extra research on her own since she did think the topic was interesting. But despite her appearance, she was interested in the lecture.

Strange class. Thought Vlady. It wasn't that the subject or teacher were out of the ordinary, it was that his classmates were a bit of an abnormality to him. This... Bohdan being the strangest of all. Where was he even from?

Obviously, the class was chock full of foreigners which,  while it perplexed the Venomian dissident, also comforted him. These people had to aadjust just like he did, a predicament he was glad he shared with someone else.

Lost in his thoughts, the jackal began to drift away from the lecture.
