Your favourite superheros/supervillains

Who are your favourite superheroes and/or supervillains in any media, and what was your favorite iteration/representation of them?

For me, it's gotta be the Scarecrow from the Batman franchise, and I Iove the way he was represented in Batman:Arkham Asylum. The reason for this is because of his demeanour, and the way he taunts Batman when you die in his segments. So damn cool.

I've never been big on superheroes, but I used to enjoy watching Teen Titans. (The original. Not Teen Titans Go. Teen Titans Go is garbage). I also loved watching the original 1960's Batman with my mother. My favorite character was Robin in both of those shows. ;)

Heh heh, I remember watching a good few episodes from that as well. Looking back on it now, it makes me pity-smile and facepalm overnhow corny it was compared to today's standards. Example of case: Robin yelling 'HOLY (Insert non-explicit animate object here)!!!' whenever there's a turn in the plot? Still, awesome. Would watch again when have the time.

For the past couple years, I've really been enjoying the Garbage Man.

Saves the day for me every Friday.

Spoiler

For me, I'd probably have to go with Teen Titans Starfire, new Captain America, The Hulk, the original Vision, and Spawn. As far as villans go, I've always had a little bit of a crush on Selena Kyle, and I really like Sinestro and Shredder from TMNT (if he counts). I was raised primarily around Star Wars and Batman comics, but I've come to appreciate a lot of these characters more recently. I really enjoy any villain with human motives and any hero that grapples with their identity as a "good guy" as this tends to lead to really dynamic and interesting characters. I liked Age of Ultron particularly because a lot of the characters were humbled and brought down to a level where you can actually see the things that drive them to do what they do. I think the most super thing a hero can do is be a normal, broken human being.

I only really got into superheroes just recently but, as a child, I have always enjoyed watching films and playing videogames that starred a bold, suave, and capable action hero. The first hero of this sort that I was exposed to was Sly Cooper of the Sly Cooper videogame series. I remeber getting the second game of the original PS2 trilogy as a birthday present. Ever since that day, Sly has stayed one of my favorite action heroes. His cool, calm, and collected nature, his perfectly timed quips, and all-around bad-assery is always cool for me.

Besides, who doesn't love bipedal, sentient, trash-talking, master-theif raccoons?

Glad to know you approve. But, seriously, the Sly universe was the first world of action, adventure, and intrigue that I ever experienced and due to that, Sly Cooper remains one of my favorite characters of any medium.

.... You can imagine my disappointment when I realized not all videogame protagonists could be as cool as him. My heart broke.

You know, he could easily turn into a villain.

I'll have to get around to posting all of the Sly merchandise I've collected over the years.  I have the limited-release comic books, the games including the variation on the first game's cover art, the E3 2002, 2004, and 2005 demos, and the GamingHeads statue.  Still working on amassing as much as I can, and hoping for a remake/reboot/sequel on PS4. :p

My mention goes to Rocket Raccoon.  I haven't delved much into the original comics that he was featured in, but the newer stuff is pretty great.  And of course, Guardians of the Galaxy was excellent.

Spiderman in the original trilogy was pretty cool. He seems like a pretty relatable hero in comparison to a lot of others, and he's pretty far from overpowered, while still having some neat abilities. The way he moves about the city is pretty cool. It especially made playing those older Spiderman games loads of fun. So much freedom and so much stuff to do. Webslinging was great.
