Starwars: the last jedi

It's coming, like it or not, ready or not, it's coming this December.

Personally I like the Force Awakens. While it was not a perfect film, I felt it was a fun film. This I hope atleast matches or exceeds. I just want it to be enjoyable compared to Rouge One. ... The movie... Ew...

So anyway, this thread has to happens. What do you dudes think? It can't be as bad as... You know...

Can it be better than THIS ?!?!?! ^ ...

I'm sorry, but I'm not going to go to the theater to see more SW films.

I got burnt twice by Force Awakens and Rogue One and I've kind of felt that I've... outgrown Star Wars. I don't really have the same zeal for it that I used to, that's for sure.

And funny you mention Jar Jar Binks. Freaky Freya has some sites you might like.

I really shed some tears of joy during The Force Awakens as everything I missed from the Original Trilogy was back. :D

So I will definitely watch this movie as well!

Honestly I wasn't too big on the Force Awakens. It felt too similar to the forth movie and just shy from being an exact clone. That and I might be a little biased because I'm waiting for Kyle Katarn and the new Palpatine.

Rouge One was the best damn thing. It answered questions I remember joking about the Death Star's design and really kept to the story with (spoiler),

Spoiler

Everyone dying lol

I'll watch this.

... Rouge One could have been a better movie and sadly it took an entire movie to explain a plot hole that could have explained with a single sentence of dialogue.

Personally, I've immensely enjoyed the last three Star Wars movies to be released. I don't expect this to take any kind of a dive, in terms of quality. Looking forward to it!

Just crossing my fingers that, as a second film in a trilogy, it's more like The Empire Strikes Back, not something like Attack of the Clones.. :p

Also I want lots of screen time for Luke. I wanna see that grey-bearded jedi a lot, pleaseee

Empire yes. Clones...no...no no...

We are used to dark Jedi and light Jedi. Maybe gray Jedi?

I saw Star Wars VIII wednesday, and I absolutely loved it! Far far above episode VII for me, and better than I-II-III (and probably VI? I don't know, I should rewatch all the series).

This movie will clearly split the fanbase in two however. I have seen people who hated the movie while other (me included) loved it. One thing to be sure, this one is finally establishing new stuff without ripping off another Star Wars movie like The Force Awakened did with A New Hope. There are still references to older movies, but this is not a clone. A lot of stuff is happening too, the characters are evolving... Overall, I truly enjoyed the movie and I'm going to watch it a second time tomorrow morning. Can't wait!

I'm certainly curious to see this new one seeing how divisive it's been among fans. Personally, I've yet to see a Star Wars movie I don't like - but I would say it's probably between episode II and VII I would consider to be the weaker entries; the latter of which felt too remake-y, but it had its moments.

Idk fam. EpII was bad (and still is) but this is just if not more bad.

Saw it. Hated it. Felt like V chopped up and reworked. Not original, throw a cute animal and don't change a story made Disney bank.

I have to agree with the good doctor. It was Empire all over again. Though I have to admit it had some moments that stuck out to me more than Force Awakens. But the whole part with the casino planet put the brakes on the pacing and there was bits about animal cruelty and other political garbage. While I'm for treating animals humanly, I didn't feel it needed to be in a star wars movie. A story of a diminishing resistance against remnants of a shattered empire doesn't need a PETA PSA to make it good. Please put your propaganda some where's else, Hollywood and not in my star wars ;( ...

I love the movie. Maybe my new favourite. There was so many moments that I felt worked so well.

I'm really kinda upset how Mat Pat from game theory only covered two underwhelming ones about metal legs and the barrel roll being an aileron roll.  Yet I believe that most people here can come up with better ones to explore with minimal effort.  So, have you thought of any good theories about that fox to explore?

As most people reading this probably already know, Nintendo announced their new console recently: the Nintendo Switch. If you haven't already, I recommend that you go and watch the announcement trailer.
Watched it yet? Great. I will say that when we were getting rumours about the NX and all the various aspects of it, I was a bit sceptical, but now that I've seen it in action, I'm hopeful. If I can play the Skyrim Special edition on the go as shown in the trailer, it's an instant sell for me. Even more so if it supports mods(side note, how likely do you think that will be?).
One think I am wondering though is how using one half of the controller will work in multiplayer will work, or if it even will for some games.
So what are your thoughts? This could make for a good discussion, I think.

I'm not sure if this is rec room/lounge material so, if it is, I apologize.
What books, comics, shows, etc. do you think need their own silver screen debut. Personally, I believe Marv Wolfman's 1983 run of Vigilante, which, yes, came into being after the horrible movie by the same name that same year needs a movie. Adrian Chase, or Vigilante, is a very deep character and with the whole "dark heroes" trend I think a Vigilante movie could be a huge success.
Also, The Elder Scrolls series needs to be recognized on the big screen. If the right writers are hired, an epic rivaled only by Lord of the Rings could emerge.
What do you guys think? What do you want to see ar the movies, if you had your choice?

As evidenced by my profile picture, quote, and actions, I love spy fiction movies and television shows. James Bond being my favorite but also movie series such as the Bourne franchise, the Mission: Impossible franchise, The November Man, and and T.V. series such as The Blacklist and Burn Notice. Any other spy fiction lovers here?

Guys, I wanna thank you for being interested in my experimental RP. Of course, this here is the discussion thread. Later I might start a skype chat for it.
Edit: I am also going to open the participant limit up a little wider.
