Robotic Nightmare
How many and which have you seen? Some of teh firsts cameos I have seen before are: In TLOZ Ocarina of time, when you see zelda when she was little in one of the windows in that place you can se pictures of Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Peach .... In Star Fox adv. when you get the last spell stone, if I'm not wrong the little melody is like the one of zelda. ...Hmmm oh yeah, in Super Mario RPG, ...i really dont know where but you can find some little figures of starfox, f-zero, and...Metroid. Those are the only ones I remember...I used to know many others...but I forgot -__-
Kal
Konami likes to put Konami Man in a lot of their games. Not many folks know about him, so...yeah. Yes, SMRPG has a ton. Link and Samus show up in various inns, and Booster has a Samus doll. Mario and James McCloud make cameos in the F-Zero series as Mr. EAD and...well, James McCloud. =D Also, his Little Wyvern looks a LOT like a modified Arwing. Mr. Krystal
Super Mario Sunshine is mentioned and there is a statue of Mario in Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes. One of the Kirby games for SNES (Superstar I think) features Samus and Metroids in one level.
Lilacs
In Battalion wars if you wait around long enough, your infantry will start saying lines from many other games and if you play as a rifle grunt, when you die and fall over ether a rubber ducky or a Game boy color will fall out of your corps. Kal
Starcraft Terran units make a lot of references to movies, other Blizzard games, etc. Here are some off the top of my head. Siege Tank: "What IS your major malfunction?!" Valkyrie: "Blucher!" *horse whinnies* Valkyrie: *hums Ride of the Valkyries* Marine: I don't care what they say, this is NOT Warcraft in space! >_< Medic: "He's dead, Jim." Observer: "Warcraft...expansion 4...." Observer (again): "That's one small step for man...*static* Stop poking me!" Observer (once more): "I sense a soul searching for answers...It sounds like... a huge gargantuan swollen bloated mushroom!" Alright that last one's not a cameo, but it's still awesome. :hehe:
Guest Chiro-Chan
In SF:AD there are ALOT of cameos/easter eggs. In the main menu, there's a swimsuit poster, and alot of pizza boxes and beer cans. Tricky's ball is actually Glover's ball. Tricky himself was a boss in Diddy Kong Racing 64.
Mr. Krystal
I picked up Super Paper Mario today. Awesomeness aside, there's psuedo-cameo IN the first boss. I'll put the rest in spoiler tags so as not to offend anyone: The first (real) boss is a giant, and I mean GIANT, flying dragon "security system." When you first arrive, he prepairs to attack, only to realize that you are the "Legendary" hero and will simply give you the second Pure Heart. However, one of the major enemies appears and damages the dragon's circuitry. For the next like 3 minutes, the dragon spouts various Windows and DOS errors and funny references, ending with "CTRL ALT DEL!!!" and then he attacks. It's so funny. Lots of other funny references in this game, but in the sense of Mario making fun of Mario games themselves. They routinely refer to the player as an "all seeing being that knows what the A button is, Mario."
salmon45
In Splinter Cell there are ads for other games by the company if you look in vending machines and stuff. There is a magazine on the one table with Prince of Persia picture or something like that.
Dr. Wilopolis
In Resident Evil 4, there's a cameo of the famous RE1 line: 'You are Jill, master of unlocking'. Silent Hill games have MANY references to famous horror movies and books, including Jacob's Ladder, and Steven King's The Fog. Guilty Gear's A.B.A is a walking reference to Full Metal Alchemist. And alchemy in general. World of Warcraft has too many references to name. From peasants saying the famous 'D'oh!' from The Simpsons, to even a parody of the Lord of the Rings, and even Zelda! All I can remember at the moment. I'll be back with more soon.
FireFox516
I know of a few in Conker: Live & Reloaded... Banjo's decapitated head hangs above the fireplace in the Main Menu, while Kazooie's head is the handle of a broomstick in one of the files. Also, the main character of Grabbed by the Ghoulies can be seen throwing up in a toilet if you open up file three.
Ice Fox 111
Guys, guys, guys...you're forgetting the game with the absolute most (and in my opinion best) easter eggs: Blood 3D for DOS. Just thinking about it brings back memories of the character humming Frank Sinatra, or starting the second chapter and hearing "We're going to need a bigger boat...". If you haven't heard of it, I strongly recommend you at least check it out, as it's the best DOS game ever made in my opinion. And yes, it's an FPS... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_%28computer_game%29 Well actually now that I think about it, Blood is probably tied with Conker's Bad Fur Day for the N64 as the absolute master of easter-eggdom.
