Star Fox Movie

Hey, everyone. One of my favorite pastimes is envisioning how I would do a Star Fox Movie, so I was just curious to see what your ideas for one would be like. I am aware of a few fan projects on the internet (including one about Kursed), but in this thread let's assume that you have a moderately-sized budget and professional cast/crew.

I'll start it off. I think (as you probably all do)that it should be done in computer animation, which I think would be the best for conveying the total scope of Lylat. In terms of voice-acting, I wouldn't mess around with celebrities to do the voices. People pay to see celebrities, not listen to them. I would have a cast of pro VAs, with the occasional comedian. The score would be almost (if not totally) from the games.

The first movie would be based on 64- hopefully with some origins stories squeezed in. (For instance, I've always wondered what the hell Falco was doing on the team, since he and Fox kind of seem to hate each other.)

I don't know if the sequel would be Adventures: it might depend on the success of the first film. If the first is a huge hit, I'd stick #2 between 64 and Adventures. And, going even further, I would retcon the 8 year gap between the two games and make it 4. If a sequel happens between 64 and Adventures, it would be set three years after 64. I only have a vague idea of what the story of that sequel would be, but it would involve Oikonny's Rebellion and also detail tensions within Star Fox.

There's a fan project online about Kursed? News to me! Link please?

I would have the teaser at the end of your movie be the destruction of a small planet called Cerinia and a certain blue vixen making a two second long appearance. :)

All right, here's the thing. I don't actually think the Kursed people have a site, but they have some weird promotional artwork on DeviantArt where they described the movie.

I think Dwight needs to email them about the movie.  This is something we certainly need to feature in Podcast 13!! :)

Good cliffhanger, by the way.  That'd be an awesome ending!

My first three lessons of SFO:

1. Make sure your own avatar is actually there before commenting on it.

2. Don't post three straight times just to inform readers on the state of said avatar (because they obviously are on the edge of their seats wondering whether it's there or not.)

3. If you want to find the true size of Krystal's fandom, just casually mention some random fan project in a long post and watch the fanboys scramble for more info.

Seriously, though if this becomes a thread on the Kursed movie I really don't care. As long as I start a thread with a lot of posts, I'm happy.  :D

Psh, if we were to discuss a script here and now, I could probably BS one in one sitting and have it be good! Just because I'm like that! Of course it would be rated R for discriptions of graphic violence and torture, or FUBAR violence!

All this stuff about torture...it really makes me wonder what time would be left for space combat (that is, after all, the point of the games, right?). :D

This is true..... But you havent read my fic yet have you? Of course it isn't done, you can't possibly fiull a whole movie with one torure scene, that is just stupid! The torture part would be in the middle of it. What happens after that, well i guess that it up to someone who is making the movie now is it? I have my own theories but i will keep those to myself.

Sorry, but if this script ever comes up for writing, and you try to write it, I will personally be tying you up and forcing you to watch My Little Ponies reruns until your eyes bleed. How's that for torture, Puff? :D

Gotta be honest with ya.... That is pretty high up there... But i would never write that as a torture unless it was you

What, the Kursed thing? Because I know you couldn't have been talking about my epic, visionary ideas.

Er...you did. It was the first post.

If you're referring to the actual story, I don't have a script or anything: this is pure brainstorming. But the the script would probably combine bits of really good fanfics I've read from the 64 era. (With author's permission of course.)

As for a sequel between 64 and Adventures, I think it would be about Star Fox fighting Oikonny...and themselves!  :D

I have an idea for a nice plot twist that could be at the end of that sequel, but you wouldn't want me to reveal it, would you?

(And no, it does not involve Krystal.)

If I were writing a Star Fox movie, it would probably be a CGI animated film. Here's what I think the character layout would be:

Fox McCloud (Josh Duhamel): The new leader of the Star Fox team. Fox is leading the team in pursuit of the evil scientist/dictator Andross, who killed his father. Fox develops a romantic relationship with a blue furred vixen named Krystal.

Falco Lombardi (Will Smith): A former member of a space biker gang. Falco left the gang behind to pursue a career as a mercenary pilot. Falco almost never runs away from a dog fight.

Peppy Hare (Robbin Williams): Peppy is a member of the original Star Fox led by Fox's father, the late James McCloud. He always gives helpful advice to other members of the team.

Slippy Toad (Rick Morannis): Star Fox's childish technician. Slippy is much more suited to ground based combat and repair work rather than flying. He and Fox have been friends since their school years.

Krystal (Megan Fox): Krystal is the beautiful, kind-hearted princess of the tropical planet Cerinia. She is kidnapped by Andross's troops and her father is forced to surrender his thrown, or she dies. Krystal later falls in love with Fox.

ROB 64 (Michael Dorn): ROB is the robotic pilot of Star Fox's mother ship, the Great Fox. He keeps a calm mind, but his sarcasm chip sometimes overrides his logic circuits.

General Pepper (Hugo Weaving): Commander of the Cornerian armed forces. Pepper is Star Fox's primary source for missions and objectives.

Wolf O'Donnell (Alec Baldwin): The heartless leader of the evil Star Wolf squadron. Wolf and his team have been hired been hired by Andross to hunt down and kill Star Fox.

Leon Powalski (Jim Carry): Wolf's twisted wingmate. Leon has a deep hatred for Star Fox member Falco Lombardi, as they were lethal rivals in high school.

Pigma Dengar (Brad Garret): Pigma is a former member of Star Fox. He betrayed James and Peppy when Andross offered him more money to satisfy his disgusting greed.

Andrew Oikonny (Shia LaBeouf): Oikonny is Andross's nephew, and the mad scientist of team Star Wolf. He generally fights Slippy because of their match in mechanical prowess.

Andross (James Earl Jones): A mad scientist turned ruthless dictator. Andross launches an attack against the Lylat System from his headquarters on the barren planet Venom.

Falco + Will = Gold

Any movie with Will Smith is awesome...and if he plays Falco, well...need I say how brick'd I'd be?

He certainly can portray the attitude, but I don't know if the voice would fight right. Falco has a certain lisp.

Hey, my thread's not dead!

Can't touch me! (Do-do-do-do...do-do...do-do)  :D

As for the actor choices, let me say this again.....NO STARS!!!!! In particular, I really don't see Smith as Falco (no offense). Also, I'd hold back from putting Krystal in a movie, because it would be a 64 adaptation and she would fit in about as well as a linebacker at a Pee-Wee football game.

Though I do love Moranis as Slippy.

Chill will ya?! I just thought it would be a good idea for the movie to be a retelling of the Star Fox storyline, but retaining it's dark yet comical tone. If it was exactly like the games the story would be too da@# predictable. If you don't want celeberties, than how about this instead?;

Fox: Kevin Michael Richardson

Falco: Steven J Blum

Peppy: Jeff Bennett

Slippy: Samuel Vincent

ROB: David Kaye

Pepper: Gary Chalk

Bill: Paul St. Peter

Katt: Wendee Lee

Wolf: Brian Dobson

Leon: Michael Dobson

Pigma: Paul Dobson

Oikonny: Ted Cole

Caiman: Kirby Morrow

Andross: David Kaye

James: Steven J Blum

Just so you know all these actors I listed have done quite a few cartoon voices.

This is what I think the movie's prologue would look like. It would have something like an Arwing drifting through space, with the narrator giving the plot summary. Then it would go into the Star Fox movie title appearing on the screen, then the events of the movie begin. Also, I think the narrator would be Robbert Foxworth saying this;

"Corneria. The fourth and main planet of the once peaceful Lylat System. This star system was once a peaceful galaxy, until the wicked Dr. Andross carried out his devious experiments. General Pepper of the Cornerian army successfully exiled this mad scientist to Venom, a deserted planetary wasteland. Several years later, mercenery pilots Pigma Dengar, Peppy Hare and James McCloud, who made up a squadron known as Star Fox were sent to investigate strange activity coming from Venom. There arrival on Venom was less than stellar, as Pigma betrayed the team, causing James' death, and forcing Peppy to return to Corneria to tell James' son

Fox McCloud of this tragedy. A few more years passed, and Andross has again invaded the Lylat System, but hope is not lost.

General Pepper now turns to a new Star Fox team led by Fox McCloud to stop Andross's mad ambitions."
