ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
Which of these cartoons from the 1980s and 1990s is your favorite? I did the original version of this poll wrong, so I'm doing it again. Don't think of this as a double post though.
Four-eyed Vulpine
What, no SWAT Kats?? I can't believe you left that out! Especially after all that time we've talked about it in the SF animated series thread.

Four-eyed Vulpine
It's there, but now you have it for two options. Wait a minute, what's the difference?
Mr. Krystal
Go Go Gadget Awesome! I did watch that one more than SwatKats. If I had known about that show before it was almost done with its run, I would have watched it a lot.
Star Fox Runner
You can't beat the Ninja Turtles, the greatest cartoon ever made.
Guest Chiro-Chan
SWAT Kats, because that and Tailspin probably formulated the 'Animals + aircrafts = awesome' thing into my head, and probably lead me to love Star Fox.
PuffNStuff
Id have to go with chiro on that one. Swat kats for me!
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
You guys can just forget about the second SWAT Kats. It was an error, so I got rid of it.

Guest Chiro-Chan
Well, that doesn't count because they're not piloting the ship. =

Guest Chiro-Chan
What the heck is SWAT Kats? I've never heard of that before. It was a really good cartoon made in 1992. About these two cat guys who were in a police force/military as pilots, and got kicked out, and became rouge heroes of sorts. Needless to say, it was a pretty cool show. Guest Chiro-Chan
I hear it was also rather short lived. Yea, only about 2 seasons long, but it was a really good show.
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
Only 2 seasons, and only 21 episodes. Sounds like the least successful Hanna Barbara cartoon I've ever heard of. It's even more short lived than Josie and the Pussy Cats.

It's even more short lived than Josie and the Pussy Cats. Some of the best shows in existence were cut short: Sonic the Hedgehog SatAM (2 seasons) Firefly (1 season) John Doe (1 season) Then there's video games: Kid Icarus (1 game) Nights (only now, over 10 years later, getting its second game) There are more things going on that market forces. A show or game may be far more popular than mass demand indicates.
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
The same thing happened with Cowboy Bebop, and I think it's happening to Loonatics Unleashed.
Guest Chiro-Chan
SWAT Kats was actually hugely successful, but I think they had to stop working on it due to lack of funds.

Lack of funds? I thought it was canceled after episode 21 because of crapy ratings.

No, it was lack of funds, I think because Hanna-Barbera spent too much money on Johnny Quest, and it sort of got them into a hole, so they had to cancel it. SWAT Kats was an insanely good show, and it got pretty good ratings, but they just didn't have the money to pay for it. =
