Guest DRL
<I do not very well since I picked on people on the yiff/rights topic, but I thought...>That is right. What if you were put by Nintendo in charge of a team to desing a game were Krystal is the star? How it would be like? What would she have to do?Will she meet Star Fox along the way, or is she going on her own?Say... it can range from anything from what she would wear and what items she finds along the way to what kind of enemies she could face. Maybe you would give her a new staff? Maybe the bad guys are super-mutants?Those are some questions that come to my mind right now, but there are sure some others...Come on! Vy'drach
If it were to be a game about Krystal, I could only really think of doing either an origin story, or choosing the Kursed story from Command, and as I despise that game's story and refuse to believe that it is canon in any way until Nintendo states clearly and irrefutably otherwise, I would have to do an origin story. It would be her in Adventures style, with the staff and simple garments (Though perhaps a longer loin cloth this time), and perhaps be a search through several planets for a sign of Cerinia's fate, not enough to state exactly what happened, as she doesn't know in Adventures and beyond, but put enough in to start drawing some ideas. The combat would of course be based upon the staff, but perhaps with some nice stealth elements in it as well, along with the possibility of mental manipulation, or at the least requiring her abilities to read/sense minds to acquire information such as passwords or item locations. Sabre
I'd build an action game, or a horror game. Krystal would just be a skin, wouldn't do anything special from my norm.

Krystal would just be a skin, wouldn't do anything special from my norm.I have seen that idea being applied before, I mean, it was in a zombie game or the like and you had a skin where your character could look like someone from Street Fighter. Not a bad idea, but of course it would not have much effect on the gameplay after all.If it were to be a game about Krystal, I could only really think of doing either an origin story, or choosing the Kursed story from Command, and as I despise that game's story and refuse to believe that it is canon in any way until Nintendo states clearly and irrefutably otherwise, I would have to do an origin story. It can be in any time in the SF universe, including (althrough it might result in yucky storyline, ect.) something Command-based. I do not know how a Kursed game would be like, but it would have her going on her own most of the time, that is for sure.A pre-adventures story could actually work out, taking her through several places until she ends up in Sauria. The stealth thing could also work out as well, althrough they should leave you the option for combat in most cases, while in others it could be like Metal Gears where should they spot you an alert is triggered. I have some ideas to balance that in mind. Her mental abilities can be of certain use there, but maybe for mind control she needs something that amplifies her special powers? (such as in X-COM games soldiers need to use something called "psi-amplifier" or "mind bender"). Or maybe some sort of "control time" system where the creature could shake her control off after a certain amout of time, or phearps she has a certain range and if the bad guy walks too far away she loses focus? Also I think that her body would still be vulnerable to attack, so she should be forced to hid in some safe place before doing it.Overall, I like the idea! I have certain game ideas in mind, but other then a horror game staring a woman, I can't think of any games where she would really fit. Jumping around on power armour like the Knight Sabres maybe? Matrilwood
As a matter of fact I'm working on something like this. C.Wars: Krystal ClearThe game uses her psychic powers to escape a battleship. Its also got Miyu and Fay in it (Starfox 2). Can't tell you to much, because its a spoiler to C.Wars: First Strike. And all the characters have special powers. And Krystal has to eat sandwiches to refill her mana (For psychic abilities)Basically, if you think of it like DnD, Krystal is more of a rogue than a fighter, like the other characters, so shes vulnerable unless no-body even knows she's their. Basically she has to be as subtle as being hit in the back of the head with a lead pipe (Literally I mean)As for balance, as you were talking about. Krystal has to eat sandwiches or steal energy from dead or unconscious soldiers to use her powers. And non of them are used for combat anyway; Mind-Read, Telekinesis, Thought Implant and Energy Drain (Used for regaining mana, not killing opponents). The sandwhich thing even adds some humour to itĀ . Maybe you should make the sandwhichs blue so they look more "magical".I really wouldn't want a game about Krystal's past, just a SF game that elaborates on her past...And that game would be like... Guest DRL
Like, SF Wii elaborates more on her past...Well, I was thinking was more like "explain... how combat is based, special stuff, effects, story, random ideas...ect."

Scott7
Asper kinda grabbed what i was going to say, but just partially.I thinking more of a Krystal Spinoff.Figuring out the answer to the cause her homeworlds destruction, while showing some her backround story along the way.But the combat should be extremely intense like stronger and more stylish attacks with the staff, explosions, stylish (and possibly sexy) acrobatics's, or possibly around the end of a boss fight the finishing move will send em flying into a building and the thing collapses from the inside upon impact.similar so it kinda has a feel of the movie FF7 Advent Children to it. if you haven't seen it go get it you'll love it!but i kind of want a fps with an rpg feel to it, going to different planets to look for clues and information and maybe help people unrelated to the objective along the way. and maybe some rail fights between planets to give it more of a starfox feel to it. and maybe give 2 story modes one for both Krystal and Fox.Her past hasĀ been boggling in my mind ever since i first started to take an interest in her.So the truth is long overdue...EDIT: Plus it would make the critics go nuts, bringing back the momentum to the series. That was one of the first posts i've ever posted on Sfo, and it thats pretty much my idea for this threadĀ I think Nintendo should put the 2 together in some way.... Like an Rpg; Side quests, places to explore, intense combat in air and on the ground, plenty of lore about lylat such as info on Corneria's people and technology,Ā Online deathmatches and similar gamemodes like capture the flag. maybe even some co-op multiplayer. That was another idea i came up on another thread awhile back.
