X-Gamer
Okay, I had a 1GB R4 and decided that the memory was not enough for the all the games I wanted. So, I bought a 4GB one. Both are Micro SD cards. These are the steps I took and as you will see, problems will occur:1.I put the new SD card into the MicroSD USB 2.02. I copy EVERYTHING I had in my old 1GB SD card and paste it onto the new 4GB SD card.3. I safely remove hardware. 4. Take out the SD Card and insert it into the R4 Case.5. I put the R4 Case that now has my 4GB SD card into my DS.6. Turn on the DS.7. After the normal Ds start out screen, the word "Loading..." appears on my screen.8. It freezes at that point with the words, "Loading..." still on the screen. (Yes, I have waited about 10 seconds before turning off the DS. Normally on my old R4, it takes about 1 second for it to complete the loading process.) 9. Repeat step 1.10. Download the latest R4 version and paste all of the files that is in the WinZip file to my new 4GB SD Card.11. Safely Remove Hardware...12. Same thing happens (steps 4 to 8)13. Gets really frustrated and does research on why the R4 might not work.14. Got a reason that seems likely: it just might be a fake. Don't know for sure.So there you have it. I reeeeealllly appreciate it if someone could help me with this issue. I feel really disappointed that my new 4GB does not work. I spent $15 on it, not including bus fares to get me to the mall that sells these. (I know, not that much, but still, I wasted my energy and effort...)If anyone might even have the slightest idea on the solution to this issue, I am open to them. Thanks. DZComposer
Is this "R4" a flash cart?If so, you're entering legally dubious territory, watch your step.

DZComposer
A flash cart is a game cartridge, or in the case of the DS, "game card," that you can easily write your own data to. They became a popular way to play ROMs on the real systems. They also, though, are the only way you can run homebrew code on many systems.A DS Flash cart would fit into the DS game slot. I guess it's true that you learn something new everyday.Well, do you know anything that could help me fix my freezing problem?
Fox-Shot
Though you are potentially entering warez, I may know your problem, DS flashcarts have troubles with larger SD cards, in your case, the R4 may not be compatible with that large amount of memory, my flashcart (which I only use to play Doom, Quake, Music, and other homebrew) has special high capacity abilities, so I can put larger sized SD cards, firstly, check and make sure you have your boot files (properly named "boot") are there. And if all else fails, I suggest getting a 2GB card, I'd like to note that you're putting 4 times more memory in that card, so it takes FOREVER to load (Wait even longer , especially since the R4 is writing more data to the card.), it's like me using and writing stuff onto a 2GB SD card with a Windows 98, I'm using something that is as large as 2/3 of it's own Harddrive space. (I used to actually do this before I got a new PC, god awful slow.) I can't directly help since I don't have an R4, I have an iTouch DS. Hope I helped you out. I'll try just that.EDIT: Okay, so the waiting thing doesn't work...What about the boot files? What do those do? How would I handle them?
