Gender (Star Fox fandom demographics)

Dermot

Recommended Posts

The votes are all anonymous.  Vote whichever gender you personally sincerely identify as.  I just want to know more about the gender and orientation makeup of the fandom.  In the past, I remembered Star Fox fandom demographics having very interesting trends.  I don't know if those trends still hold today.  Believe me, I learned about a surprising variety of these, even among teenaged fans.

Remember your comments shouldn't be too naughty or political.  This is a question of your identity, not what you find kinky.

I'm a female, I'll never forget how odd I felt in 4th grade when I'd be drawing pictures of Star Fox ships in class and talking about the game with the boy who sat next to me while my female best friend looked on in complete disgust that I liked something like that instead of dolls- "what a nerd!"

I thought about voting hermaphrodite just for the heck of it, but I opted to be sincere and vote straight guy.

Straight as a laser beam, the kind of old fashioned gentleman and machoman one doesn't see to often anymore. That doesn't in any way mean I have something against those with other sexualitites. Open minded.

We welcome homosexuals here. I did in fact watch a pair of lesbian girls on the internet once... It looked very interesting.

Im straight, and I will prove it my crishing this can on my head.

*crunch

Ow, my skull.

Strange thing, women will throw themselves all over me when they think I'm gay. Likewise I have been accused of being gay and in one case a crossdresser.

...Rather curious topic.

I consider myself a straight guy...

Althrough I have nothing against

the other sexual orientations.

Who knows, maybe in the future

we meet a race of alien plants...

And as we all now, plants *are*

hermaphrodite...

Well, now is when you guys/gals/bots

say "you are playing too much Star Control".

I'm a straight guy, and I'll say the same thing I tell my friends, "I don't have a problem with gay people, but if they hit on me, I reserve the right to sock and/or boot them in the face, if the situation calls for it."

Huh, I thought there would be a lot more gay people in the fandom, and a lot more girls too.  I seemed to remember there being a lot in decades past.

Maybe Krystal brought in a whole new straight male fan base.  (Honestly I don't know if that's the case. XD)  What's for sure is that the gay Star Fox fan base doesn't care much about her (unless someone appreciates her character development). X3 On FurAffinity, there's a community called starfox_abk - "abk" means "anyone but Krystal".

I consider myself straight, I prefer women, and the one I love most is a woman :)

But, when it comes to SF, I don't mind FoxXFalco ;)

I could get all facty about that, but I will simply say what I believe. Straights still are the highest percentage of the fandom, just gays are way more vocal (which they hate when you call them out on it) and there is a larger % then other groups.

As for females, this is a combo of 2 geek past times, furry and games. as a result, the numbers are very low. Your looking at 40% of 40%, or 10 of 10 if we are only counting the hardcore.

Precisely this. Although, due to my username, the majority of people I come across online assume that I'm male. It's hilarious when I tell them otherwise.

As a matter of fact, most people here are taking things seriously until you stepped and started the "Attraction to other human beings is bad, so asexual is the way to go" discussion you always seem to touch. If you don't like the subject, then turn away and let others post.

Well, due to my funny voice (imagine a less femenine version of Slippy),

some people laught and mutter "lol, he is not even 20 and he is gay/bisexsual/ect.".

..Duh, I once made a dictator-like voice when some cashier whipered to her friend

that I had a gay voice. Heck, that was really funny. They were like "WTF??! ".

That's a fair point when it comes to what lumps of meat you like to kiss. In my experience most people who claim they are A either haven't finished puberty yet (I was a late finish myself) or are really angry geeks (such as myself) who hate women for chosing the idiot with lots of friends over my obviously mental and physical superiority, but one day, I will have the last laugh. You'll see, you will be mine. Muhahahahaw!

Seriously though. I read 'asexual' as 'I havn't did puberty and/or I hate that women won't go out with me so I will make up some BS claim that Im not interested in them'

Heck, you are quite right. I was asexual myself before becoming 16.

(And come on guys, that is quite late). I knew I was no longer so

when I looked at Krystal and said "she´s so hot!" <(No really! It was

there that I really knew I left that asexual state).

Of course asexual could be a guy/gal who lost his sex. I mean

for whatever the reason, he can no longer reproduce and is not

interested in the opposite genre... But still looks like a common

guy/gal to everyone else.

But that is like less than 1% of the cases, I am sure...

He, the Aztec Emperor had such kind of bodyguards; they did that

so he could be really sure that his wife was his...

I think established asexuality is when adults aren't interested in either gender.  When someone is young (including early to middle teens), I'd just consider it undefined orientation.  Hence "I'm (gender).  Just leave it at that."  Though someone can also pick that if they want to reveal their gender and only their gender.

While your are right on that, the quote "Attraction to other human beings is bad, so asexual is the way to go" was simply to point immatureness due to the fact of....being immature, be it because age or simply ignorance. Dermot got the right meaning, tho, since I'm using past experience with Matt and this subject to find a way to let him know he is not allowed to cause trouble on this topic. At least, I hope he learned from the past.
