I have been fascinated by Asper's topic. So, instead of trying to revive an old topic, I just made a new one. I added more choices, removed others, and you can now vote up to 3 options. Just vote on which is your favorite/s fantasy, magical, or mythical creature or animal.

Good idea making it possible with multiple choices, since I could never decide on which one I preferred to dragons and werewolfes. So I'm voting for those now.

Hands-down dragon all the way!

I've always been fascinated by Dragons. From my perspective, they are extremely misunderstood creatures, killed off by "civilized" humans (Though I don't see HOW they're civilized for doing the following) because they were trying to survive. I think if they were still alive today, there'd be a lot in common between me and a dragon.

What's a basalisk?

From the wikipedia article on the subject. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basilisk

In European  bestiaries  and legends, a basilisk (English pronunciation: /?bæz?l?sk/, from the Greek ?????????? basilískos, "little king"; Latin Regulus) is a legendary reptile  reputed to be king of serpents and said to have the power to cause death  with a single glance. According to the Naturalis Historia of Pliny the Elder, the basilisk of Cyrene  is a small snake, "being not more than twelve fingers in length",  that is so venomous  that it leaves a wide trail of deadly venom in its wake, and its gaze is likewise lethal; its weakness is in the odour of the weasel, which, according to Pliny, was thrown into the basilisk's hole, recognisable because all the surrounding shrubs and grass had been scorched by its presence.

If you've read, or seen the film adaption, of the second Harry Potter book, you should get quite a good look at one, or how Rowling imagined it at least.

The hippogriffs, Basilisks, veela, and the boggarts would be familiar to any HP fan. (although I never included merpeople)

Back on topic, my favorites are Pegasus, Dragon, and Phoenix.

Just to say, Dragon really pwns all. Dragon eats a LOT of things, and can fly, and can breath fire, and has a lot of defense, and has a lot of attack power, and has a lot of wisdom (according to Dragonology...), and can talk to humans trough minds or just the mouth (according from various books like Eragon).

Basilisk was my second choice because...well...after seeing HP2 (the basilisk wasn't ballistic strong, put still a bit cool...) I saw the abilities of one.

I actually forget what I put for my third option. It was either a troll or something else. I didn't really mean it. I couldn't think of anything else that was "all-mighty powerful."

I never told why i chose Pegasus, Dragon, and Phoenix, have I? Here is why:

I loved Pegasus and Dragon when I played the first Star Force game. I also loved Dragon because of Spyro. I liked Phoenix because of Harry Potter and, when I was a kid, the beyblade anime.

I think Pegasus are magical, Dragons are powerful, and Phoenixes are intelligent and are able to resurrect from the dead.

Dragons : Rumored to have exist(ed).

                ...I however, prefer the Western

                version to the Asian version.

                Needed a new word: AWEloads.

Werewolves : I like the style. Cool!

Phoenix : AWEsome fits them nicely.

Tought I'd fling out to the other draon fanatics around that I made a "Dragozona" for myself about a month ago. You should check it out. http://asper-sarnoff.deviantart.com/art/Through-the-fire-and-flames-158698948

Guest Para Astaroth

I like Banshees because they are (I believe so?) a type of phantom and I'm just intrigued about the supernatural stuff:  Ghosts, phantoms, Banshees alike.

vampires are fictional, not mythic?

While Vampires as we know them(untill Twilight ruined it all) is taken straight from John Polidoris "The Vampyre" and Bram Stokers "Dracula" of the late 18 century, blood-sucking creatures have been a part of folklore for several centuries. So I'd say that makes them mythical creatures.

Count Vlad Teepez(If memory serves) was definatively not a wampire. But Bram Stooker was inspired by his gruesome habits, such as impaling his enemies on stakes and let them hang on them, suffering a slow and painfull death, or eating a bowl of eyeballs.
