citrus fruit

What is your favorite citrus fruit?  This is not an actual tally poll (there are way too many species and cultivars of citrus used in the world), so just say which one you like most. :3 You can be broad (orange, lemon, lime, etc.) or you can be specific (tangelo, blood orange, Buddha's hand, kaffir lime, etc.)  You can choose your favorite for any reason (edible fruit, zest, aroma, appearance, ornamental plant, etc.).  Or if you just don't like any citrus, say so. :3 I you want, you can elaborate the ways you like citrus - for example, as lemon meringue pie, or as Mountain Dew (you redneck!), or whatever.

Personally, when it comes to eating a citrus fruit itself, my favorite are tangelos. :3

And I like to drink grapefruit juice if it's sweetened.  (Mmm...grapefruit Izze...)

And sometimes I make semi-homemade pink lemonade by buying a store-bought jug of lemonade, drinking off a small cup's worth, and replacing the missing volume with pureed strawberries.

I've also made homemade ice cream using citrus juices, such as from four lemons or from eight limes - you need to add more sweetener than other usual ice cream recipes call for, but it's wonderful.

Lemon bars are <3.

I've always wanted to try a blood orange someday...

I love oranges. Especially when used as a juice. I also like citrus drinks such as Mountain Dew.

I made orange juice slush once, in my ice cream maker. :3

Clementines. Eat a lot of them around Christmas.

Apart from that, I haven't tried anything else than oranges and lemons.

Clementines are a type of Mandarin orange, aren't they?  I know tangerines are Mandarin oranges. :3

Also, I was beginning to fear that I'd made this thread too mundane, and no one would care to join in. X3 But after some delicious citrus earlier, I had felt inspired. :3

I like lemons.

They're great fun to use in eating contests. First one to eat a whole, sour lemon wins!

I've honestly got no idea. They are actually most often called "Mandariner", even if their real name is clementines, so I'll guess they are very close.

Star fruit, They look so cool, and taste delicious! They have to be thinly sliced though, or else they don't taste as good.

Has anyone here had rare or exotic citrus?  Like blood oranges?  Or Australian limes?  Tangelos aren't that rare, but they're nice too. X3

Well, Australian limes may not exactly be exotic in Australia.  But wherever they're rare, they're certainly exotic. X3

Mmm...lemon and lime.  Who here likes to make homemade ice cream? :9

Pretty sure star fruit falls under that (They are delicious when sliced very thinly)

Pomeloes are sick, they are like grapefruits injected with styraphone around each slice, and huge pits.

As for non citrus...

dragon fruit, I love em! Taste like a kiwi, only they are really big, and white on the inside.

Prickly pear looks so cool, Green on the inside, and tastes like a sour cucumber, doubt that's citrus, but mebbe.

I've eaten all these crazy fruits, and many more!.
