Sylum
So I'm sure at one point in time most everyone here owned a nerf gun. Am I correct? Well as it be, I'm sure everyone remembers my thread about Humans Versus Zombies ande the possibility of my college using nerf guns. This got me thinking...What else could these things be capable of? I decided to venture many of the nerf sites and found out that people mod the crap out of these things and I decided to try my hand at a few. Right now I'm working on a Longshot CS-6 that I just got. I will have pictures asap. What I plan to do is remove the air restrictor, eliminate the dead space, a few things, and give it a full paint job. This thread is a place holder for my projects.Note to mods: If thread needs to be moved, HAVE AT YE! lol
Vy'drach
I wanted to make one of these so bad.It was a Longshot, like you're messing with, and he turned it into a Lancer from Gears of War.Nerf Lancer.
Guest Julius Quasar
I had a nerf gun!Nerf guns rule! Also, welcome back Sylum! I missed you!
Sylum
lol Thanks Julius. Actually I forgot to take a lot of pictures but did get a few. I was able to get the Air restrictor out and throw the whole thing back together. Man it was a total pain......SO MANY SCREWS!!!! D: Anyway, I definetly noticed a good 20ft (at the least) distance gain. Tomorrow I'll probably head to the hardware store and get another spring which should add another 10-20 ft. Pictures will be up later or tomorrow.
Guest Julius Quasar
lol Thanks Julius. you're welcome! I was able to get the Air restrictor out and throw the whole thing back together. Man it was a total pain......SO MANY SCREWS!!!! D: I hear ya'...when I had my Nerf double crossbow, I had to keep taking it apart and reattaching the washer seals on the plunger, and lubing them down with corn oil so the washers wouldn't fall off the plunger and jam the double crossbow firing mechanism. But the oil would dry up, and I'd have to reapply it every so often. I gave up after the third time, and just fixed it one last time and hung it up.... Sylum
Yea. I put an extra o-ring to keep the air flow stable.I think the next one I do after getting the spring is getting a cs-6 recon and body and paint modding to look similar to the assault blaster

Vy'drach
I am a foreigner here,Spagish strikes again...>>>WHAT is a "Nerf Gun"?<<<Little toy guns that usually fire foam darts, usually topped with little suction cups. You usually have to cock them back after each shot, and some people modify them to have cool looks and more power. Nerf is actually the brand name. Should look them up. Asper Sarnoff
Nerf Guns? Sound like fun, but not completly as fun as Paintball. Imagine it's better suited if younger people also participate.
Sylum
Yea it is suited for the younger ones but i've seen things that I know young kids can't do, like the mods I plan on. Modded nerf seems to be for older folks.

Sarita
From the description...We hacked a Nerf Vulcan chaingun to fire as fast as an M60 machine gun. We also added an LED counter like in Aliens or any FPS. Then we took the gun and shot my coworker with it. See the how-to at www.manapotions.comApparently it melted after they shot the video. They advise not to do at home.
Guest Julius Quasar
Nerf Guns? Sound like fun, but not completely as fun as Paintball. Imagine it's better suited if younger people also participate.Paintball....I remember the kids in my class played it all the time, they still do as adults...assholes never invited me once, and when I offered to pay if they let me come with, they say "okay"., then they call me on Friday saying "we're not going paint ball shooting this weekend", then on Monday they talk about how much fun paint balling was that weekend. stupid mother f***ing jackasses...I wish I could confront them on the paintball range, with a REAL GUN, and kill those stuck up pricks, and get away with it (but that obviously won't happen, but there's always hope).Back OT,I like playing Nerf with the few friends I had....Remember that blond haired kid from the Nerf ads? "Don'tcha' get it!?" Wonder where he is now....
Vy'drach
Nerf is fun since you can shoot kids with em and not be considered an asshole. And Paintball never really interested me because if I'm going to to spend that much money and get that into something involving guns, it's going to be real guns. Nothing beats the sense of going to a range, and knowing that what you hold in your hands can, if misused, cost someone there life and that what you are using is not a toy, but a serious tool that could very well save your life one day. Vy'drach
Well Nerf is the brand, so that may be another brand, but you don't have Nerf itself where you live?Either way, they're pretty fun usually.I had a knock-off of Nerf that used realistic gun shapes, and so I had a pretty accurate and powerful M60 version. The fold down iron sights were dead on at about 20-30 feet, and you could easily aim over to get accurate at about 100 feet.

Ours are however more "ubersized"and 'do' try to imitate the size of a 'bazooka'...

There's no point in paintguns if you're just going to use them for shooting at targets at a range. Bring a few buddies out in the woods, each with their own paintball gun, lots of ammunition and extra air. Split them up in teams and fight. Counter Strike just becomes weedy and boring after that. Vy'drach
Counter-strike is boring as it is, and I just never saw the appeal in running around with a glorified super-soaker. I know it hurts to get hit by them, and it doesn't behave like a super-soaker, it's just that, for the same price, I can get a real handgun, and have. I have an $80 dollar pistol, and the thing is about ready to become an antique, but it was the first handgun I ever fired, and it's a blast to use.And I'm not saying there is a problem with paintball or that someone has to be an idiot to like it, just that for the cost of all the paintball gear, I can get a real gun and the ammo for it, and have more fun.And of course there is also airsoft, which I had a friend who was incredibly in to, to the point that he had a few airsoft guns that were several hundred dollars each. Vy'drach
It's probably just because I am an avid gun nut, and like nearly any gun ever made (with certain exceptions). That, and the first time I ever fired a shotgun at anything other than a hill (just for the sake of shooting a shotgun), it was skeet shooting, and I got 48/50, with a 28 gauge (which is harder to do than with a 12 gauge), and so my dad has always said I have a natural talent for it, and encouraged me to work on it, saying I may even be able to become an Olympic skeet shooter. And I am not a fan of counter-strike, only reason I play it is because I like to play games with my friends, but I find a game where a gun can shoot 4 feet to the right of your crosshairs, and below it, annoying. Not the mention it has the Galil assault rifle, one of the few guns in the world I hate with a passion.
