There you are, Kooncoc: the Planetary Graphics version.

"Close to its sun, (here in the upper right) therefore it is mostly desert. Due to the low amounts of water, there is a slightly thinner atmosphere, seen here as the blue halo around the planet. On the Digital Planetary scan, we could only view this side of the planet. This was the last scan made before the planet passed in front of its sun, and the sheer amount of light nearly ruined several instruments. According to the data, there are very few areas of vegetation. Only a few areas of water were seen, but this is only one side. There are signs of intelligent life, but the Planet Hunters (The scientists running the Planetary Finder Mission) aren't saying anything yet...."

I had to use other images from the 'Net for those, unfortunately. I've got the planet basics okay, but no idea how to make stars....

I ran into some trouble trying to make the dirt layer. I've done the difference clouds and the threshold, but afterwards, it's just black and white, and when i switch the lightning to Screen or Lighten, then the black parts are the transparent ones. What am i supposed to do now? :D

The black and white are supposed to be there. Remove the whit to form your oceans, and the black to form your land. It says that in the tutorial, don't worry.

Thank you very much for the comments guys, I really appreciate it. I'll do some requests and add a little backstory so long as it's not too complex and I can do it. (I'll warn you if I can't) I'm going to try to figure out how to add mountains in a specific spot as well as polar ice, but I don't know if I can....

I wonder if you could add some action to those pics: ships, fighters, explotions, etc!

Imagine that!!!

... what? Could you be more specific, becasue that tutorial isn't very helpful. Are you supposed to duplicate the layer? What should the lightning mode be? I'm stuck right after you configure the threshold.

EDIT: I quit, so nevermind. Too much stuff going wrong so it made me stop. ^_^

Hey, I'm fifteen and I got this on the first try. It's a little hard to understand, but don't give it up.

Go to select and then color range. Set the fuzziness to 0 and select a whit part of the planet. Hit "OK" and once that's active, hit the delete key. You should see blue again. Reset the background and foreground colors back to the two shades of brown. Click on the thumbnail of the ocean layer while holding "Control". This makes the selection go around the planet. Go back to the color range and select a black area of the planet. Once it's selected, go to Render and then clouds. Then render and then difference clouds and repeat it thirty times again. It's time consuming, but it works.
