Star_Dragon
This is my fanfiction of the AVATAR movie... my version of what happened after the Human-Na'vi war. Be warned, however; as with all my stories, it is very violent and intense. Not for ages 15 and under. Enjoy!James Cameron’s AVATAR in:Shadow Warrior AlphaPrologueVideo Log Initializing...Author: Jake SullySubject: “An Avatar’s Life”Recording Begins {{NOW}} “I know I said I wouldn’t make another log, but things can change in a heartbeat. It’s been almost three years since the Na'vi and I—with the help of a few human collaborators—drove the humans from the Planet ‘Pandora’. Since then, our scouts... now armed with human weapons we got from the base the humans had established... have found that when the humans left, several... rogue human factions that refused to stay off Pandora. Although they were armed with weapons we’ve yet to learn how they acquired, we were able to defeat a good half of them. *Yawn* I’m getting tired, so... signing off.” Jake de-activated the video log recording device, grabbed his rifle, and headed toward the airlock. After joining the Na'vi of Pandora, his life had become much better. The Na'vi came to him in all directions with human “artifacts” asking what they were. Most of the time it was weapons, books and all manner of miscellaneous items. Jake opened the airlock door, stepped in, shut it, waited for the airlock to cycle him through, and stepped out into the Pandora nighttime darkness. Tsu’tey, a good Na'vi friend of Jake’s who somehow survived the Battle of Pandora by hanging on a ledge until Jake found him, was already outside on his mount. “All done in there?” he asked. “Yeah...” Jake said. Tsu’tey frowned. “What’s wrong?” Jake shook his head. “I’m not sure. I just...” his voice trailed off. Suddenly, there was a distant, reverberating boom! In the sky, and a flaming metal meteorite rocketed overhead. There was a semi-bright flash of light, a resonant bang, and silence settled over the base. Jake and Tsu’tey sat in silence. Oddly enough, the meteorite crashed in the direction they needed to go. “What in the name of Eywa was that?” Tsu’tey mumbled. “I’m not at all sure... judging from the shape, I think it was an orbital drop pod.” Jake stated. Tsu’tey looked to Jake. “Humans?” Jake shook his head. “I know what a Human Orbital Drop Pod looks like, and that wasn’t it.” Jake hopped onto his mount, whom he had nicknamed “Jay”, and took to the air, followed by Tsu’tey, intent on investigating this downed pod... Lieutenant General Kylet'oran awoke just a minute after his orbital drop pod crashed. The ship it had launched from, which was in another parallel universe in a different timeline, was monitoring the pod’s sensor beacon, and knew where it was. Unfortunately, his ship had launched him and miscalculated the coordinates for the Trans-Dimensional Intergalactic Temporal Rift, putting him in a time three years after the Human-Na’vi War. In a bizarre twist of luck, the Kemorainian imperial remnant had suffered the same setback. The Kemorainian imperial remnant was here to assassinate Jake Sully, a so-called “Avatar” that had helped the Na'vi of Pandora beat off a human attack. They would then blame the attack on the Interstellar Alliance of Races in an effort to convince the Na'vi to join their cause. If all else fails, they would invade the planet, wipe out the Na'vi, and take it for their own. Not something command wanted to happen. Within seconds, Kylet'oran and his two teammates, nicknamed Bruno and Cobra, donned their armor, put on their battle-masks, grabbed their weapons and other gear, and headed out of the ODP... Jake and Tsu’tey landed a small distance away from the downed orbital drop pod, and headed in to investigate. When they got there, they noticed that the pod had gouged out a path in the forest. Tsu’tey was about to head out to look at the pod when Jake pulled him back into cover. “Someone’s coming out—look.” he said. Tsu’tey looked towards the end of the pod, and three armor-clad Na'vi stepped out, dressed in pitch-black armor. One of them pressed a few buttons in his gauntlet and disappeared. The other two followed suit, and three ghostly shimmers dashed away from the downed pod. “We have to warn the others,” Tsu’tey whispered. Jake nodded, still staring at the pod. “Agreed. We don’t know if they’re friend or foe, so it would be better to be prepared.” Jake and Tsu’tey quietly dashed back to their mounts, hopped on, and took to the air. No sooner than they did this when a great, crimson-scaled flying beast nearly hit them. It bellowed a deafening roar, and headed south. “What was THAT??” Tsu’tey exclaimed in the Na'vi tongue. It took Jake only a few seconds to realize what it was. “I’ll tell you when I get back home.” Jake said, shortly before he headed back to the human base. Tsu’tey wondered what Jake meant, and headed back to the mountains... Kylet'oran stopped in a clearing and waited for his crimson-scaled dragon to find him there. The dragon—Keedar—landed two minutes later. “Status, Keedar. And I need a sit-rep.” Kylet'oran ordered. “I’m fine,” Keedar answered. “And if you’re referring to the Na'vi that saw you, I nearly hit them on the way here.” “Where are they headed?” Cobra asked. “One’s headed east, toward those floating mountains... whatever they’re called.” Keedar answered. “And the other one?” Kylet'oran inquired. “Back to the old human base, no doubt to see if he can get an image of me to show the Na'vi.” Keedar replied. Kylet'oran smiled under his mask. “Excellent work, Keedar.” he said. “Hell of a start on this mission for the Shadow Warrior Alpha Team.” Bruno stated. The three-man stealth team hopped onto Keedar’s back, cloaked, followed by Keedar activating his own cloaking device, and then took to the air. The first part of their mission was a success... Star_Dragon
Okay, Chapter One!Chapter OneMeet SWAT Jake Sully and his twelve-man squad of warriors headed through the forest due south of the great tree of souls. Their objective: The human encampment that scouts found in that area. Each of the warriors was armed with a human rifle, a Bow and arrows, and the traditional honor blade. The trip had been uneventful up until they came to a clearing to see the remains of a still-smoking campfire that had been put out. Jake knelt beside it and put a hand over it as Tsu’tey walked beside him. “This fire was put out recently,” Jake said. “So whoever started it is close by.” Tsu’tey added. Jake nodded. “Jake,” One of the warriors called out quietly, “Come and look at this.” Jake complied, and was rewarded with the sight of a column of smoke rising from somewhere in the forest. “Human rebels?” Tsu’tey asked. “Or our friends from the orbital drop pod.” Jake said. “Tell everyone to be on their guard and to watch the sky for that dragon I showed them the other day.” Tsu’tey nodded, issued the orders, and the squad followed Jake toward the rising column of smoke. Not even two minutes later, a ghostly shimmer in the air passed over the squad in a gush of wind that made the treetops rustle. Seconds later, the shimmer passed over them in the opposite direction, headed toward the human rebels. “I think that dragon is watching us,” Tsu’tey whispered. The squad continued on toward the human rebel camp, unaware that they were being watched... SWAT watched as the heavily-armed Na'vi made their way toward them. Keedar figured they were headed to the human rebel base, and if these Na'vi didn’t attack them, then SWAT would follow them in the trees. Their only fear was that one of the Na'vi would go up into the trees to get a better vantage point and spot one of the SWAT members there. Kylet'oran ordered the team to remain low and still as the Na'vi on point stopped, looking into the trees... Jake ordered everyone to halt when Jek’tar, the warrior on point leading the group, stopped dead in his tracks. The squad took cover, and Jake approached Tsu’tey, who was closest to him. “What’s got Jek’tar so spooked?” Jake asked. “I’m not sure. He’s been acting strange all morning. It’s that damn nose of his... I think he smells something he doesn’t like.” Tsu’tey stated. Jake slowly approached Jek’tar. “Jek’tar? Jek’tar, what’s wrong?” he asked. Jek’tar was silent, staring at something in the trees. He had his hand on a tribal charm necklace, gripping it as if it was all that gave him life. Jake grabbed Jek’tar’s arm, and his head snapped around to face him. His eyes were wide with fear, which caused Jake to hesitate before whispering, “What the hell’s the matter with you?” Jek’tar returned his attention to the trees. “Do you see him? Up in the trees.” he stated “Do you see him? Up in the trees.” the Na'vi’s voice echoed in Kylet'oran’s head as if his brain had a surround sound system. Of course, that was what typically happened with a super-sonic listening device. The computer analyzed the other Na'vi’s voice as he spoke. “No. What do you think it is?” “I don’t know, but he isn’t alone.” By the time the Na'vi said this, the computer finished analyzing the other Na'vi’s voice pattern, and it spat out a line of text: “Voice ID: Primary Target – Jake Sully.” Damn, Kylet'oran thought. Jake’s presence out here could complicate things. Kylet'oran thought he was back with his mate, Neytiri, at the great tree of souls. Double damn. Time for plan B... The trip resumed at a faster pace after Jek’tar decided to play dumb and act as if he knew nothing. It wasn’t long until the squad came upon the human rebel base. The rebels went about performing their usual daily tasks, unaware of the threat that had crept up on them in the recent hours. Jake was about to issue his orders when a rocket flew out from nowhere and hit a fuel tank. The fuel tank exploded, sending shrapnel-shaped shards of metal flying in all directions. Jake turned to Tsu’tey and asked, “Were there any other clans in this area?” Tsu’tey gave him a wide-eyed shrug, indicating that he had no idea, and Jake returned his attention to the camp. The rebels were now running hither and yon, and out of nowhere, a grenade detonated and sent two rebels flying through a makeshift wall. Another grenade detonated, a sort of energy grenade, and vaporized three idiots grouped right next to the blast. A loud, echoing roar sounded, and the crimson-scaled dragon appeared out of thin air over the squad’s heads. It flew down, and through means no one understood, breathed ice over the fuel fire, putting it out for good. Another rocket, flying in from somewhere in the forest, flew in and hit a makeshift storage building, bringing the entire structure down into a pit and burying whoever or whatever was in there. After the second rocket hit, the violence stopped. The dragon disappeared into thin air—indicating it had a cloaking device in its armor, something that humans had only seen in video games and movies—and silence settled over the area. Aside from the rebels’ confused chatter, the area was almost completely silent. But then, the humans started firing their weapons in all directions. They literally had no idea where the real threat was. After a volley of bullets that, thankfully, totally missed Jake and his squad, the humans stopped firing. Then, as if to cause more chaos, a black-clad armored warrior appeared out of nowhere, drew two swords—one long, one short—and grabbed one of the rebels and stabbed his sword through his back. One of the rebels fired an energy weapon of some sort, and Jake saw it splash on the warrior’s armor. However, instead of falling to the ground dead as he should have, the energy pulse hit some sort of shield. The armored apparition then extended a hand, and the rebel with the energy rifle came flying toward him and was impaled on his sword. The warrior jerked his swords out of the rebels, pivoted around, cut another rebel’s head off, and ran to another. Before the rebel could swing at the warrior with his own sword, the armored apparition leapt over him, landed behind him and kicked back, stabbed the rebel in the back, and then whirled around and sheared the rebel in half. There was then the steady crack, crack, crack of two sniping weapons firing off as they picked off the remaining rebels one by one. When it stopped, two more black-clad armored warriors came out of the forest. As if that weren’t intimidating enough, the red-scaled dragon—covered in crimson armor—appeared and landed before the warriors. The leader of the three warriors—the one with the swords—sheathed his weapons and said something to the dragon, and the dragon nodded, and then moved his head up to indicate Jake and the other Na'vi there. All three warriors turned to look at them. “Come down here,” the leader said in the Na'vi tongue. “We mean you no harm.” There was a moment of hesitation before Jek’tar got up from cover and started walking toward them. “Jek’tar, what are you doing??” Tsu’tey demanded silently. “They mean us no harm,” Jek’tar said. “How do you know that?” Jake inquired. “If they really meant to kill us, they would have done so already. They’ve been tracking us since this morning, and if they wanted to, they would have killed us before we even got here.” Jek’tar stated. Jake hesitated, decided that Jek’tar’s theory actually made sense, and headed down with the rest of the squad to meet these armor-clad warriors...
