I dunno, maybe another company/developer could actually do the series well, make some good games in HD, better framerates and gameplay, and MERCHANDISE!  Then again, they could always screw the series worse than Nintendo is doing now.

Actually, nintendo just gave it to others basically... I admit that Rare made SF okay

No, they didn't Nintendo hired Namco to make SFAs and Q Games to make SFC, and Rare was making a game called Dinosaur Planet. Due to Nintendo's controlling stake in Rare, Nintendo was Rare's contractually bound publisher. Nintendo said to make Dinosaur Planet a Star Fox game. Rare had no choice in the matter.

Nintendo still owns the copyrights and trademarks related to Star Fox. These things are what "selling the rights" refers to.

My acceptance of it if Nintendo were to do it would greatly depend on who ended up with them. If it were someone trustworthy, I wouldn't mind. But if it were someone like EA, I'd be hell-a-pissed.

I would not be surprised. But it'd be nice to know who. Activision would make it really cool.

Nintendo would regret that if they did sold the rights of starfox, hopefully not Microsoft.

Banjo-Kazooie used to be a Nintendo thing but because of the buy-out of Rare, it is now Microsoft.

That probably would've been the same to Donkey Kong, if Nintendo didn't have a talk with Microsoft about keeping some of Rare's characters (Donkey, Diddy, Dixie and a lot of other Kongs), Donkey Kong would be a Microsoft thing.

I'm also pretty sure that I would send a complaint to Nintendo about giving up Star Fox and everyone else might write complain letters too.

I do not want it to be sold to:

Electronic Arts

Micro$oft,

Q-Games...

Or any other-big game corp.

From my perspective, the corps

do not really 'sell' anything - they

absorb.

I loved the SEGA Genesis/Megadrive

version of a game named "Shadowrun".

Searched it, and looks like Micro$oft out-buyed

FASA... They made a new game, it sucked, and

after that, FASA was dissolved...  :( +  :x

Technically they couldn't have taken Donkey Kong with them, do you remember the original Donkey Kong ARCADE by Nintendo?

Don't take any offense, BUT ARE YOU NUTZ!?!?!? There is NO WAY that Activision or Infinity Ward should EVEN BE CONSIDERED! Ughh! I don't even want to imagine what they would do to StarFox.

Back in the Rare days, Rare used to own the Donkey Kong franchise until Nintendo had a talk with Microsoft about keeping some of Rare's character.

Wouldn't count Bungie out of the picture. they made the Epic Halo trilogy.  but on the other hand, if it was 4Kids...yeah; Star Fox would be dead fox; sadly it iwould be true.  the only things they're good for are Pokemon and Yugioh.

(No offense meant to anyone that has a preference for them. just being honest.)

Matt chill. No need to order people around just because you don't likw it. Activision? No. Unless you want to get price gauged. IW maybe. But that's becoming respawn entertainment since 35 iw guys quit.

Back in the Rare days, Rare used to own the Donkey Kong franchise until Nintendo had a talk with Microsoft about keeping some of Rare's character.

Rare never owned Donkey Kong. They had an exclusive development license for it, but all of the Rare DK games had their trademarks attributed to Nintendo, unlike Banjo-Kazooie which was always a Rare property. It may be true that Microsoft wanted DK, but they never had a legal claim to it despite their Rare purchase.

Remember: Rare was a second-party developer, meaning that they were legally part of Nintendo, despite being technically separate. That comes with luxuries like access to Nintendo properties.
