My handling of recent issues

It has been brought to my attention that some people may feel I have not acted fairly in dealing with the recent drama over homosexuality.

I want to apologize to anyone who feels that way. I by no means claim to be perfect, and I thought that I had achieved a compromise that was fair.

If any of you have an issue with the way I handle something, please tell me. I won't ban you or punish you. As the leader of this community, it is my job to serve you, not the other way around, and you input is valuable to that. If you feel I'm doing something unfair, speak up. PM me if you have to. At the very least you'll get an explanation as to why I am doing it. I could even see your point and alter what I am doing. I can't promise that, but if I don't know I am being unfair, I can't stop it.

I want SFO to be an inclusive place where people civilly discuss Star Fox and other things. This is the SFO Mission Statement: "The purpose StarFox-Online is to provide a fan-friendly, all-ages, site that contains useful and unique information about the Star Fox series while maintaining a community of fans who discuss the series as well as other topics amongst each other in a peaceful and friendly manner."

It's at the top of the rules, and I feel it should be our guiding light. If I ever go off-course, call me on it.

And that is exactly what is going on.

What happened here, from my point of

view, was a... for lack of a better term,

'dilemma'. There was a situation,

and you solved it the cool way. I would

have not felt right if you have banned

anyone for being homosexual or for

not minding them.

So far, I can say that you are doing a

great job.

You've been doing a great job so far in my honest opinion. Like DRL said, you encountered a dilemma recently, and instead of taking the easy, but wrong way, and putting limitations on homosexual activety on the site, you keept to your beliefs, and the mission statement of the site.

You don't have any obligaiton to cater to any special interest group. This is a starfox forum, you can allow or not allow any content that you want to.

Bear in mind, as this is a public forum that allows children to browse through it, you do have an obligation to make sure the kiddies can't find anything Mom might not approve of. I think this gravely applies to the current uprising of homosexual content.

Some might 'think' it's harmless and should be allowed, but it's not their call.

Uhm... All that stuff is on the mature board now. No one will see it unless they've requested access and certified to an admin that they are at least 18. If they lied to us, that is not our fault.

But if he chooses to be tolerant

to others, then

what is the problem?

Yes, but this is not a 'small-kids-only' forum.

It is meant to be suitable for all ages.

PLUS, not all parents have the same vision as yours,

while ones might hate one thing, others may not care

or even support it.

Some might 'think' it's harmless and should be allowed, but it's not their call.

 Nor it was yours, neither.

That is true as well.

This is incorrect. The Child Online Protection Act (COPA) was struck down as unconstitutional.  Technically there is no legal requirement for DZComposer to comply with a request like this.  However many sites of a more adult nature put up warnings anyways such to kind of discourage parents who don't know the law correctly to sue said site and even if they did sue they would have no hope of winning due to prior precedents
