"User"
I was going to create this in the The Caucus and Pulpit Pub but permissions apparently weren't set up for regular members to create topics in that sub-board. Therefore can a mod/admin move this to that area when appropriate.I'm not going to initially go into specifics about the summit and how the world leaders of the top 20 most economically powerful nations are meeting in Toronto over the weekend to discuss to world policy on many things so I'll ask this. What is your view on these summit meetings? Are they a waste of money and does anything actually get accomplished? Or are they only breeding grounds for violence and protesters who are currently destroying shops and burning police cars only 10 minutes from where I type this? The world's media is on this summit in Toronto right now and I can't help but wonder WHY they chose the downtown core...that was the worst place they could put an event like this.http://english.aljazeera.net/news/americas/2010/06/2010626224935922337.htmlhttp://www.theusdaily.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=1136794&type=Business
Sabre
Superman turns up and steals all the nuclear weapons. All I've heard about it is the protesters, who seems to think that by being arseholes (ie threatening to start riots) when everyone in polatics is in 1 place will make people take them seriously. Kind of overshadows the point really.

"User"
Well Sunday it was a downpour for a few hours in the afternoon and into the evening. Those who got rounded up had to wait in a temporary outdoor detention center with no shelter - serves them right! Anyways, 4 police cars got torched and dozens of businesses were damaged, but no one was killed. Could have been a lot worse, they arrested almost 1000 people.
