I've been looking for a good and free antivirus software to replace HORRIBLE Norton, but I can't seem to find many, any suggestions? :D

Avast. Completely free unless you want all the un-needed addons.

The best free antivirus software out there are...Avira, Avast and AVG. Here's a small guide to help you choose between them:

I would have to say Avast. I've been using it for years now, and I would have to say it's helped me destroy quite a few trojans and viruses.

Thanks everyone! Just finished uninstalling that computer hog Norton, and installing avast right now :D

EDIT: Avast is so intuitive, it's SO MUCH BETTER than Norton Antivirus it isn't even funny! And being that it is free, it sweetens the deal even more :D.

My cousin said that AVG is terrible, maybe not use that one. I've heard that Avast is really good. I don't use any AV's myself.

AVG is quite good, I would not call it any 'bad'

ever. However, AVG/Avira are better in some

stuff, that is.

Avast and AVG have already been mentioned, but I would like to add Microsoft Security Essentials to the list. For a free A/V, it is actually pretty decent. It also updates through the Windows Update system, which is nice because you don't have an additional update-checker running. I know, pigs are flying, hell is below zero, DZ recommended a Microsoft product.

Note that your Windows Install has to pass a Genuine Check before MSSE will install.
