Ok I began writing this because I'm missing a Fox and Krystal love sorta story, I'll post the first chapter, if you like it, I'll post up more, if you think its too sappy or don't like it, I'll get a mod to lock this, well ok, and just so you know, I'm particularly proud of this first chapter and I just for future reference, this is an all ages story, no swearing, no sexual content, just a story. If you want more, please say you do and vote whether I should put some violence in, not very graphic but child friendly, and a name would be good, I can't think of a suitable one. Anywho, here's the story!

(Btw, I'm well aware it isn't paragraphed, but I'm not sure where to put them, oh any feedback is welcome! O_o )

Chapter 1

Pressed up against the cold metal, a figure was standing in a darkened corner of the Great Fox. The figure, named Fox, a red fox with a white strip down the middle of his head and a white tipped tail was building the courage to approach the girl, named Krystal, who was softly crying in a seat at the front of the ship, staring into space and sobbing. She had only been on the team for a couple of months, but Fox had fallen for her as soon as he saw her, she made him fumble and trip over his words when he was in her presence, no matter how hard he tried to, he could never think of anything to say, but if she is in a volatile state like now, he thought it would make him less shy. He had been waiting for only a few minutes, but it felt like he had been waiting and planning what to do for hours. Finally, he gave up making a plan, deciding to do what came to him, counted to three and came out from the corner to comfort her, summoning as much courage as he could. He walked towards her with enough sound so he wouldn’t wake the other crew members, but loud enough so Krystal would hear him. Her sobbing slowed and she murmured, “W-who’s there?” In reply, Fox gently called in a whisper with, “Its just me, Fox.” This reply had the expected effect. Krystal’s sobbing came close to stopping with her holding her breath and turning her head away from him, determined not to show weakness in front of a fellow member, especially one she was falling in love with. Fox thought this was going to happen and kept talking. He whispered comfortingly,

“Don’t hold it in, here,” He picked her up under his arms, sat down in her place and then put her on his lap

“Now, don’t hold it in, just cry it all out,” he said, holding out his arms to her. She did what Fox had hoped she would, she flung herself into his shoulder, wrapped her arms around him and sobbed heavily into his shoulder. Fox slowly and gently told her, “don’t cry too loudly, we wouldn’t want the others waking up.” After that, he continued to gently whisper comforting words in her ear as she soaked his shoulder with tears. Finally, Krystal was left exhausted and her breathing was slow, except for the occasional gulp for air in between. After this, Fox just stayed still making sure she had definitely stopped. He then, after contemplating whether or not whether his next action would be stupid or not, he gently asked her, “You wanna come sleep in my bed?” Krystal’s reaction to this was a sharp push away. Fox quickly continued this with, “Just in case you need me again, I won’t do anything, I swear.” Slowly, Krystal nodded and dropped herself into Fox again, at this, Fox smiled down at her and said, “Ok, I’ll take you.” Putting his arms under her knees and under her arms, Fox slowly and silently made his way back to his room, where he set Krystal down and went to lay down next to her. “Good night,” he whispered, but wasn’t met by a reply, only soft breathing. He smiled and fell asleep.

EDIT: This has been edited numerous times with some touch ups previously but I have slightly changed it from the original so that 'someone' might have a better understanding

Seeing your 'title' gave me no hope whatsoever for this piece. I was right.

#1: Physical descriptions of commonly established characters are absolutely not necessary, especially as the opening of a story.

#2: You basically repeat the same sentence twice, moving from a general description of events to a specific one.

#3: There's absolutely no romance in this.

#4: First he's too shy to even talk to her, then he asks her to sleep in his bed? Do you even know what romance is?

You know, I've seen a lot of amateurish writing. I can handle it. But when you move into an area in which you have obviously zero experience, it compounds the literary damage tenfold, until I move away from the realm of honest and constructive criticism and am forced to say that this is absolutely horrible.

Thank you, come again.

uuuhh ok, Takewalker, its not much of a romance then, I don't really write much and Fox being shy is because Krystal had the upper hand, when she's crying, Fox feels much more in control, I re-read over it and I don't think I repeated anything :P, and I didn't really get the thing with specific events and stuff, this is the way I have written this and I'm quite pleased with it, although you are right, I don't have any experience writing in romance, heck I don't have much experience at all! Ah well If you don't like it, don't read it. Dark Fox, here's Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Morning fell. The sunlight simulators input in the Great Fox slowly turned on, generating a fake summer’s morning. Krystal slowly came into consciousness. Blurry eyed, she stretched her arms out, she came in contact with something else soft and furry. Almost instantly, she pulled back and sat up quickly, her eyes flew open. She saw Fox next to her, his face at peace with a ghost of a smile on his lips, his arms close in to his chest. Krystal managed to recall the events of last night and slowly,so as not to wake Fox, pulled out his arms and slid in between them, pressing herself up to him. As if in reply, Fox, in his unconscious state, tightened his embrace on Krystal, startling her a bit, he then murmured something incomprehensible and lay still again. Once she had lowered herself back into his embrace, she closed her eyes and lay there. Fox woke up a couple of minutes later, and felt weight on one of his arms with something or someone furry, he opened his eyes slowly. The events of last night flashing in front of him, dreading what or who was between his arms. All he could see was a shock of blue fur with a face that made him feel weak in his stomach was just what he didn’t want to see. He pulled away from her, embarrassed at what he had done in his state of unconsciousness. She rolled over to face him and murmured, “why did you stop hugging me?”

In reply, Fox stumbled over his words once again in a reply that went,

“I – um – I didn’t mean…” Krystal saw what he was trying to say and told him soothingly,

“I put you’re arms around myself, you kept you’re promise, don’t worry.”

At that, Fox blushed a bright red through his fur.

“Oh.” Was all that Fox could say, very embarrassed.

After a while, Fox shook his dazed state off and looked at his clock.

“Oh no.” He said,

Krystal sat up, “What’s wrong?”

“It’s 10 in the morning, Falco’s probably up.”

“Why is that bad?”

“Because he won’t understand our excuse of what happened last night”

“Oh, I see.”

“Well he may not have gotten up yet, lets try get you back.”

“Right.”

Fox put on his dressing gown and turned to Krystal, inhaling deeply,

“Ok, let’s go.”

Just to make it krystal (OH LOLLERS) clear, here's the passage I mentioned, with the redundant parts highlighted for emphasis.

The figure' date=' a red fox with a white strip down the middle of his head and a white tipped tail [u']was building the courage to approach the girl who was softly crying in a seat at the front of the ship, staring into space and sobbing. The figure in the corner, named Fox, was building the courage to comfort the girl in the seat, named Krystal.

The fact is, these are functionally the exact same sentence, written in two different ways.

It's not...horrible, though I don't think I'd call it romance. It's not bad, though....

Just so you know, "you're" and "your" are completely different words, and can't be used interchangibly.

^ ^ yeah thanks Inuyasha, I know that but I forget which is used in which context. Sorry, If you could remind me which is used in which context, I'll fix it right up. Oh and I realise its not much of a romance at all so it's now just a fanfic. It looks like I'm only really posting the rest of this up for Dark Fox, ah well, at least somebody is slightly enjoying it.

You're = you are

Your = belonging to you

Thus, if you can substitute the phrase "you are", you should be using the first. Otherwise, it's the second.

Same thing applies to it's and its. It's is the contracted form of "it is".

I really should be getting paid for this.

Right, right, thanks Takewalker. I'll fix that up sometime this week, anywho, I forgot to post today's chapter. I may have a problem this week due to school and I may not have time to post the next chapter, without further ado, here it is!

Chapter 3

Fox carefully opened the door which made a gentle click, but to him, it was like a gunshot. He slowly peered out the door couldn’t see or hear anyone in the lounge, yet. He thanked his good fortune that Falco had slept in. He and Krystal quietly made their way across the hallway and to Krystal’s room. Fox told Krystal to quickly get inside and they would talk later on today, trusting that they would have no missions. The Star Fox team hadn’t had a mission since Krystal joined. She had proven to be an almost natural fighter pilot and a valuable on-foot soldier, in combat simulator of course. Fox quickly and silently ran back to his room to get changed, ready for the day. As he got back to his room, he fell onto his bed and lay there, deep in thought. He could hardly believe what had just happened!

He had managed to get Krystal with him and he didn’t stuff anything up, well, except when he woke up with Krystal in his arms, even though she had put them around herself, and when he forgot about what he would do in the morning. Krystal came and knocked on Fox’s door and called,

“Hey Fox, are you changed yet?”

“Oh, um, n-no, not yet.”

“Well, hurry up!”

“Coming!”

Fox sighed a sigh of content, got changed and came to breakfast, still looking very tired and in need of a shower to smooth down his fur. While he tried to smooth the fur around his face to make him look a little less disheveled. In the kitchen, Falco was listlessly flicking through the channels on the TV, eating the occasional bite in between, while Krystal and Peppy were both talking over their breakfast. As usual breakfast was in the kitchen, being prepared by ROB, who was also piloting the ship, using his ability to control any part of the ship he wants. Slippy had recently updated ROB with many new hardware parts, allowing him to easily maneuver the Great Fox, manage all the cannons, help fellow team mates while they are fighting and still be able to perform numerous functions of the Great Fox. Slippy had done a great job on ROB. As he walked over to the serving area, Fox realized how hungry he was and quickly loaded his plate with lots of food. As he went to the table, Peppy and Krystal left off their conversation to wish him good morning.

“Good morning Fox!”

“Morning Fox”

“Hello Peppy, good morning Krystal.

Got any new missions yet Peppy?”

“Nope, and I don’t think we will be getting any for a good while.”

“Oh, well, maybe the team could use a rest for a while. Hey, where’s Slippy?”

“He says that he’s tweaking his Arwing and testing all the arwings for malfunctions and ways he can improve them, he’ll come back here once he’s done, so he’s not gonna be here for a while!”

A general laugh all around was made at Peppy’s comment.

Fox sat down at the table and ate his breakfast.

Once he had finished, he went over to Falco.

“Hey, Falco.”

“Hey Fox what’s up?”

“Just wondering whether you’d be up for a go on the combat simulation later on today, I think Krystal and I’ll go down to Corneria for the day.”

“Yeah, sure I’ll tan you’re hide later if you wanna play.” Said Falco, sounding tired and bored.

“Great, well see you later Falco.”

“See ya, oh and Fox, I saw last night, real smooth.”

Fox was taken by surprise at this, Fox hadn’t noticed anybody watching him or them.

“Uh - I - um - we – er -,”

“Heh, Fox, you’re still terrible on the spot, I’ll have to help you fix that sometime, well have a nice day.”

“You too Falco.”

Trying to hide his blushing face, Fox walked over to Krystal and asked her;

“Krystal, you wanna head down to Corneria and spend the day there today?”

“Yeah, sure, I’d love to.” Krystal replied, full of enthusiasm.

Peppy was still at the table reading the latest news article, scanning for anything that the team could use as a mission. Fox approached him.

“Peppy, Krystal and I are heading down to Corneria for the day, do you need anything from down there?”

“Oh no, nothing for me, thanks Fox. You two have a good time!”

“We’ll see you later.”

Fox then told Krystal that he was going to go for a shower and freshen up before heading down, although he really just wanted some more time to think. When he was ready for the day, he put on some nice, casual clothes: his iconic red scarf, green jeans and a plain black shirt, with some grayish-white shoes. Along with his wallet containing his Star Fox license that allowed him to carry his blaster, just in case, his compressor backpack and some money that Slippy didn’t need after his repairs on all the Star Fox equipment.

Smoothing down his still slightly damp fur on his face, he opened his door to see Krystal right in front of him. She had changed into something else. She was wearing an outfit that really suited her, a thin flowery shirt, mainly pink, that cut off at the bottom of her ribs, a pair of bluish purple pair of knee-high shorts that were the perfect size for her and pink sandals, a very summery outfit. While he tried to catch his breath, determined not to fumble his words, Fox tried,

“You look … Beautiful! But, you might want something warm just in case?.”

“Thank you Fox, and no, I’ll be fine, don’t worry about me.”

Regardless of Krystal’s reassuring words, Fox brought his navy blue jacket, just in case.

“Ok ready to head down?” asked Fox,

“Yup, lets go!”

“Ok, I hope Slippy’s finished with my Arwing or we might have to use yours.”

Well, I'm glad you don't think its too bad and I quite like my story, I'll post the next chapter now, It's a biggie!

Slippy was working on Krystal’s ship when he heard the two coming down the hallway.

“Hi you two, where ya going?”

“Hi Slippy, Krystal and I are heading down to Corneria city to spend the day.”

“Sounds nice, well, have a nice day Fox, you too Krystal!”

“We will Slippy.” They called in unison, then looked each other in the eye, Fox felt the blood rush to his face and he looked down at his feet, looking very embarrassed, Krystal laughed lightly and said,

“Lets head down to the city now, ok?”

Fox picked his head up and looked back at Krystal and replied as casually as he could muster, which wasn’t much,

“Yeah, lets go.”

Fox leapt into his Arwing and flicked a switch inside for a fold out ramp for the co pilot. Krystal hopped lightly up the ramp which folded away behind her as she reached the top. Fox performed all necessary checks to make sure his Arwing was all right for flight and took off. Fox flew until the ship was out of range from the Great Fox and set the ship to brake in space, until he started it up again. Krystal was a bit startled at this and asked Fox,

“Why are we stopping?”

“Because Corneria is so full of people, nowhere down there is quiet and private, so I want to take the time here to talk in private.” Fox switched off his communications armlet.

“Do you mind we talk about last night?”

“Oh, well, um…” Krystal said unsurely, but glanced at Fox who ears had drooped a bit and was glancing a little away from her, so she sighed in preparation and said

“Ok, lets talk.”

Fox’s ears pricked up and he couldn’t help himself from smiling, Krystal smiled weakly back,

“Thank you Krystal, if you want to stop talking at any time or want to head back or anything else that I can do, tell me and I’ll do it.”

“All right.”

“Ok now I firstly want to ask about why you were crying?”

Even though Krystal knew this was coming, that small bit of hope she was clinging onto broke as Fox said this but told herself she would not cry again. Despite her efforts, she did.

“Oh no, Krystal, I’m sorry,” said Fox, realizing this was difficult for her to talk about.

Through her tears, Krystal replied,

“No, no its ok,”

Fox took the opportunity to move the co-pilot seating a bit so he could get closer to her,

he went over and hugged her, she hugged him back, wrapping her arms around him very tightly, her fingernails digging into his back, but Fox didn’t say anything. Once Krystal had stopped crying, Fox let her go and was about to go back to his seat and fly to Corneria when Krystal started talking.

“I was crying last night because I had a dream that has haunted me for years now.” Fox was surprised at this sudden piece of information, finding the words, he said carefully,

“Remember, if you want to stop, tell me.

Krystal nodded.

“Ok, now what was this dream about?” Fox sat down in the area next to the co pilot seat so he could show his attention to Krystal.

“My home planet before it was destroyed, my dream is not very clear and when I wake up I can’t recall the faces of anyone that I have seen during the dream but I’m sure its just before my planet gets destroyed and I see my parents moments before some people rush me into a small ship.”

“Oh. I had no idea, I’m so sorry.” Fox felt very bad about asking that question now, since he had also had a similar experience, waving goodbye to his dad before Pigma betrayed him and he was killed by Andross.

“No, its ok, you didn’t know that.” Said Krystal as reassuringly as she could manage

“Will you be alright?”

“Yes, did you want to talk more?”

“If it doesn’t hurt you too much.”

“I’ll be fine.”

“Ok. How often do you get these dreams?”

“Sometimes it can be months between them, sometimes days.”

“Do you have any idea when you will get the next one?”

“No, I haven’t had one in months, I thought that it had gone after I was put in the crystal, looks like I was mistaken.”

“Oh, does the dream always make you feel the way you did last night?”

“Not always, but usually, I used to get through it by crying myself to sleep. I was hoping that you wouldn’t see me, I’m a little ashamed at what the dream does to me, you won’t mention this to anyone else will you?”

“No of course not! Oh, but Falco said that he saw us together. I’m sorry that he had to see us, I didn’t hear him and I would have told him to go back to his room if I had.”

As Fox said this, Krystal looked crestfallen. Fox moved closer, trying to comfort her, his moving closer didn’t have the effect Fox had wanted so he put his arms around her. Krystal had tears forming in her eyes but she was determined not to cry so she pulled Fox close to her, despite her efforts, she wept gently on Fox’s shoulder, burying her face in his scarf.

“Do you want to talk about Falco, or do you want to stop and go to Corneria? Just nod if you want to talk and shake your head if you don’t.”

Krystal nodded so slightly, Fox barely felt it.

“All right, I’ll talk, you just nod or shake your head ok?”

A nod.

“Ok. Do you trust Falco?”

A slow nod.

“Do you want me to talk to him and tell him not to tell anybody? I won’t tell him why you were crying.”

A nod.

“If Falco asks, can you try and not tell him that I took you to my bed?”

A quick nod

“All right, tonight, after we play the combat training simulator, I’ll talk to him. Do you want to ask me some questions now?

A slightly reluctant nod

“Ok.” Fox gently let go of Krystal and she let go of him slowly, showing obvious reluctance

“Do you think Falco will keep what happened last night a secret?”

“Oh um, I think that he realizes we don’t want anyone else knowing.”

“Ok that’s good. Why did you come out to me?”

“I heard you going up the hallway, I thought it was strange for somebody on the team to do that, especially since I had never heard anyone on the team do that before.”

“I thought so. Why did it take so long for you to come over to me? You said you heard me coming out from my room.”

“Ah, um – I - er – well – um – its like - uh...”

Krystal looked him directly in the eyes which made him drop his head,

“Ok, I was waiting in the corner, I didn’t know what to do or how to stop you crying.”

“Then how did you not hear Falco? If he saw everything, you must have seen him or heard him.”

“Oh, I don’t know how long he was watching for. I only hope he only saw me before I carried you back to my room from his door, although he probably saw a little more. I’m so sorry, I should have heard or seen him.”

“Its ok, you did make me feel a lot better a lot faster.”

“If you ever need me, I’m close by.”

“Thanks Fox.”

“Anything else?”

“No, that’s it.”

“Ok, lets head into Corneria ok?”

“Ok!”

Thanks DF, I have somebody who actually likes my story a little bit. Essentially, the rest of this story is for you because nobody else seems to like it. Hey, at least I got through to one person! Enjoy this chapter DF!

PS: I might not be able to post a new issue every day and am not sure how many chapters I'm going to type, I'm going to try and reach 10 but no promises. I will try to type a new chapter and finish the one I'm on this weekend.

Chapter 5

Corneria was just as beautiful as it had always been from space. The lights, the colours, the buildings. Fox requested landing with the guard on Corneria and confirmed his landing pad. Krystal surprised Fox as she asked him as they were heading towards the parking area,

“Fox, can we circle above Corneria for a bit, please?”

“Hmm? Yeah sure.”

“Thanks Fox.”

“No problem Krystal.”

Fox set a path for the autopilot to take over and they reached an altitude where they could get a nice look at the city. Looking out over all the busy people made Krystal feel very lucky. Fox took this time to ask,

“Hey, is there anything you really want to do in the city today?”

“Well, no, not really, I just thought we were going to look around.”

“Would you like to go shopping? Slippy’s left us a lot of money and I thought you would like to shop for something.”

“Yes, lets go shopping, then once we’re finished, go to a café somewhere.”

“That sounds nice, all right want to land now?”

Feeling very spoilt and happy, Krystal gave a slight giggle and said,

“Ok, lets go!”

Fox took his arwing out of autopilot and guided it to a parking zone.

Lost in dreamy thoughts, Krystal thought about how lucky she was that Fox was given the mission on Sauria. She had thought about this many times and always ended up telling herself she shouldn’t dwell on the past, what’s done is done.

Upon landing, Fox activated the ramp again for Krystal and Fox himself hopped lightly to the ground, waiting patiently for Krystal. Fox reactivated his armlet and gave the command for his arwing to head back to the Great Fox until he called it again. Smiling at Krystal, feeling a lot more confident than he usually felt around her, he said,

“Lets go!”

Krystal replied with a smile and a gentle laugh, signaling she was ready.

Fox found out that small talk with girls was not as easy as he thought it would be and felt slightly uncomfortable, not having anything to say. Krystal noticed this quickly and helped him with,

“What shopping mall do you want to go to first?”

Fox kept his face as straight as he could but secretly had his heart in his throat, he replied with,

“Actually, I want you to choose where to go, this is you’re day today.”

“Ok, well, I want to head into the central plaza and have a look there.”

“Great! Do you have anything you really want to buy today?”

“Nothing really, I would like to go shopping for clothes oh and definitely shoes!”

Carrying on with this conversation, Fox and Krystal found themselves feeling like teenagers on their weekend away from school with not a care in the world. As they came to the plaza, Krystal felt that usual feeling of overwhelming joy as she stared in wonder at the huge building. Fox noticed her stopping and looked at the building as well, not saying anything, just letting Krystal drink in the sight. After a minute or two of staring, Krystal grabbed him by the arm and started to pull him into the mall, Krystal couldn’t help herself from not smiling a huge grin. Fox almost fell at the sudden movement Krystal made but managed to right himself and run in. As Krystal stepped inside, she asked Fox,

“Where first? Shoes or clothes?”

“Um clothes?”

Krystal giggled and kept grinning as she said,

“Good choice!”

This time, Fox was ready for Krystal. Krystal dragged Fox across the store till she found a shop that looked appealing. Patiently waiting for Krystal to try on clothes, Fox waited nearby the changing room, waiting for her to come out and ask him what he thought of the clothes. After a lot of shopping for clothes, Krystal dragging Fox around the mall to all sorts of stores, Clothes and all. Finally, Krystal slowed and said,

“Ok, I think I’ve had enough shopping for now, wanna go to a café?”

Fox nodded.

“All right, do you have one in particular you want to go to?”

“No, today is for you, where do you want to go?” replied Fox, a bit breathless

“Ok, I know a café that’s really nice, I think you’ll like it.”

Under the weight of all Krystal’s shopping, Fox was waiting for a break. Krystal quickly found the café inside the mall. Before sitting down, Fox put as much as would fit into his bag, which was all but 1 box of shoes. Fox heaved a heavy sigh of relief as he sat down. Krystal asked him, “Do you want anything to eat or drink?”

“I’ll come up and get something.”

“All right,”

Fox bought a muffin and coffee, Krystal got a coffee. They went to a table and sat down together, both feeling content and happy. Occasionally, one would engage in a conversation and in between bites and sips, the other would reply. When Fox had finished his muffin and had a last gulp of coffee, he laid back in his chair, put his hands behind his back and relaxed, waiting patiently for Krystal to finish. He had just begun to close his eyes when he was pushed from his arm forward, sending his head into the table. Krystal jumped out of her chair and ran over to Fox to see if he was ok. Fox picked himself up, groaning and holding his forehead.

“What happened?”

“I don’t …”

“Wait… What is is?”

“It looks like there are traces of a sniper shot in the air, somebody was trying to kill you. How did the bullet not kill you?”

“It must have hit my armlet, its bulletproof.”

As they had finished talking, laser beams shut off all the doors out of the mall, even over the windows. Fox turned to the front entrance to see a squad of venomian soldiers following a leader. Whispering, Fox said to Krystal,

“We’ve got to hide, into the café!”

Yay! another reader!!! Ok here's chapter 6, enjoy (DF, hope you're still reading)

Chapter 6

Krystal, caught by surprise, was pulled into the café by Fox who then dropped down, signaling for her to do the same. Krystal complied and dropped onto her knees and hands. Fox kept signaling to her to be quiet and to stay low. Desperately looking around for somewhere less obvious, Fox quickly scanned the café in hopes for an area where they wouldn’t be seen. He found nothing that would give him and Krystal a good hiding place so they could figure out what to do. Despairing, Fox grabbed Krystal’s arm and whispered, “Look out for places to hide, there’s nothing here.” At that, he ran out of the shop, pulling a stunned Krystal behind him. Fox was only out of the café for a couple of seconds when he turned into the shop next to it. It was a clothing shop. Krystal, still not quite sure what was happening, whispered quite loudly to Fox, “the coat racks!”

Fox was about to ask what she meant when he realized that they could hide in amongst the coats and had a chance of not being seen. Fox dragged Krystal, who was trying to balance herself, into the thickest rack of coats he could find, trying to find something where their feet wouldn’t be seen. He picked a rack of long, thick jackets that were almost touching the floor and jumped between them. Fox could hear the tapping of boots against the hard floor of the shop. Venomian soldiers had entered and were taking all the residents hostage, in an obvious act against Corneria. Krystal, who was now right next to Fox, had a confused and scared look on her face and was pressing herself up against Fox. Krystal whispered to Fox, almost inaudibly,

“What’s happening?”

She didn’t receive a straight answer and all Fox did was signal to be quiet. A shadow cast on the floor where the two foxes were occupying, it waited there, looking around, then a harsh voice called out,

“All clear in this one.”

Fox let out a very slow, quiet sigh of relief, he realized he had been holding his breath. Krystal realized she had been squeezing Fox’ forearm very tightly and relaxed her grip so she was loosely holding onto it. Fox whispered to her to wait and be quiet and he crept out. Poking his head out of the rack of coats, he checked for any soldiers who might be patrolling the area. He put his arm back in the coats to signal to Krystal. His questing fingers met her arm and he quickly pulled his arm back a little bit and signaled for her to come out. Fox crawled out and waited for Krystal to emerge from the rack of coats. Krystal then took the opportunity to ask Fox again,

“What’s happening?”

This time she got a reply.

“Those soldiers were from Venom. It looks like a resistance has formed and has locked down this mall in an attempt to rebel against Corneria, holding all of us hostage. I wonder whether it’s just a co-incidence that we’re in this building at this time because the Star Fox team has taken Andross down twice so Venom doesn’t really like us very much.”

“Oh, at least they haven’t found us yet, but what can we do? We don’t have any weapons.”

“Well, I don’t know about that.” Replied Fox with a sly grin, reaching into his bag and pulling out his blaster.

“But what can I use?” Asked Krystal

“You’re going to use this, I’ll fight with my hands.”

“But we don’t have any protection.”

“That’s why we need to be extra careful.”

Krystal gave a fearful look at Fox who returned her look with thoughtful sigh.

Krystal carried on with her questions,

“Have you got a plan?”

“Firstly, we need to find out who their leader is and either kill him or hold him hostage.”

Fox passed his blaster to Krystal and quickly stretched, then said,

“Lets go.”

Silently, sticking to cover, Fox and Krystal ran across the mall looking to find a guard on patrol who they could get information out of. Fox caught sight of a soldier heading into a supermarket. Fox quickly pointed him out to Krystal who nodded and followed him towards the supermarket. Slipping into the supermarket and scanning for a way to surprise the guard, Fox caught sight of the guard walking down the middle of the aisles in the supermarket. Caught by surprise, Fox dived around the corner. Krystal who was standing around the corner skipped out of the way. She offered her hand to Fox so he could pull himself up, which he accepted. Fox thought for a little bit when he was up. He whispered to Krystal,

“you wait here, I’ll take care of the guard. While you wait, keep an eye on this,”

Fox pulled out a thin ring with a small black jewel.

“If it turns green, I’ve got the guard and it will be safe for you to come out, If it flashes red, get out of here and find cover.”

“Ok, I’ll be inside that checkout station so I’m hidden.”

Fox nodded and silently dashed to the nearest aisle, heading towards the guard.

Blah, blah, blah, whose still reading, blah blah blah, here's chapter 7

Chapter 7

Fox had caught up with the guard and was hiding behind the aisle closest to him. Fox was wondering how he should attack the guard and now was a crucial time to know how to. Looking around for something to climb up so he could drop on top of the patrolling guard, Fox scanned the area around him but only saw aisles. He was in the refrigeration section. Thinking quickly, Fox found the only way to get up above the guard would be the top of aisles. Fox took action before the guard got too far away from him. He hopped up the nearest section of the aisle and saw the empty pathway through the middle of the supermarket. The guard was gone. Fox punched the air in front of him in disappointment and he quickly checked the guard could be. A rough voice from behind him with a worried hint in it commanded,

“Don’t move.”

Fox’ ears pricked up as he heard the command and stayed perfectly still. Without being seen by the person who told him to stay still, he activated his armlet and activated the ring so it would flash green and hoped Krystal would take notice. Fox waited for the voice’s next command.

“Put your hands behind your head,” ordered the voice.

Fox slowly put his hands behind his head

“Ok, stand up.” The voice now sounded more comfortable and no longer sounded worried or uneasy.

“Now, slowly turn around …”

Fox did so and saw a soldier who was on the second level, overlooking the supermarket, whose eye was fixed on a scope of a sniper rifle which was trained on Fox’ head.

“Don’t make any sudden moves! Now get down from th… uurrrgg.”

Fox, confused saw the soldier’s limp body fall forward onto the rail of the balcony and slowly slump onto the floor with a dull thump. Krystal, still frozen from shooting the soldier from behind, had a shocked look on her face of what she just did. Looking for some way to get up to that level, Fox looked around the edges of the store and found an offline escalator. Dashing up the escalator, Fox found Krystal who was waiting for him. As soon as he found her, he said

“Let’s get outta here!”

Krystal nodded and ran towards Fox, grabbing him by the arm and pulling him down the escalator again. Fox ran behind Krystal, looking out for a place to hide from soldiers who would have been heard by his comrades. In the main room of the mall. Krystal ran towards the shop on the opposite side of the mall. Fox’ eye was caught by a soldier wielding a blaster on the upper levels overlooking the ground floor. All Fox heard was the shot issue from the gun and, with energy that had just been tapped into due to the situation, Fox launched himself in front of Krystal. From Fox’ perspective, the world slowed and he saw the whitish-blue beam heading very quickly in his direction. As expected, the bullet hit Fox. It burned through his side and soundlessly, Fox fell. Krystal screamed and fell to his side, calling his name. Fox turned his head slightly and saw soldiers heading towards him and he whispered to Krystal,

“Go, I’ll just slow you down.”

Through tears, Krystal shouted down at him in shock.

“no, you are not going to die, not here!”

With a voice that was barely audible, Fox replied,

“I’ll be fine, just go!”

Too late. The soldiers were very close now. Some of them held back, blasters aimed on Krystal. She turned to face them and in anger, she pulled out her blaster and pulled the trigger blindly, as close to the nearest soldier as possible. Nothing happened as she found the gun knocked out of her hand. All the fight in her lost, Krystal fell to her knees and bowed her head. The first soldier walked behind her at a distance in case she lashed out, and attached laser handcuffs and attached a rope to the joining point of the cuffs and pulled Krystal along the ground. Asking the leader of the soldiers, one of them called,

“What about that one?”

As the soldier pointed at Fox. The leader replied

“He’s dead, no point.”

Pulling the rope and dragging Krystal, the leader headed back. she never took her eyes off Fox’ body. Suddenly, she saw Fox wink at her and smile slightly. her heart gave a leap of joy, but her body stayed perfectly still except for her mouth which had a grin which she couldn’t resist. Fox’ hand slowly made its way to his injured side and tried to hold the blood in before he could take proper care of his injury. Fox watched the Venomians head towards their base, his teeth were clenched, holding in the cries of pain he wished he could release. Once the soldiers had disappeared around the corner and into an lift, Fox rolled onto his back, and tapped at his armlet. Once he had finished, he lay back and watched. Two spider-like robots pulled themselves out of Fox’ armlet and fell to the ground, pulling out some slim tools from their main body, into their front two claws. They crawled over to Fox’ injured side and gently started to work on his injuries. Even though it was painful to talk, Fox told the recovery robots to drag him into a store so he wasn’t in plain view of the Venomian Soldiers. The robots replied in a metallic unison,

“Command confirmed, action accepted!”

Fox braced for the pain and the robots latched onto him with long thin wires that wrapped around Fox’ arms and legs and one robot dragged him while the other cleaned up the blood on the floor to cover up the tracks. It was a remarkably quick process, only taking a minute or two. Once they reached the shop, the robots began work, checking for more damage from the drag. After analysis of the wound, one of the robots changed a claw into a mask-like shape and put it over Fox’ mouth. The robot instructed him to take deep breaths now. Fox did so and felt his eyelids close and the gentle clicking of the robot at work on his wound was slowly getting quieter till all was silent and black.

Ok there's chapter 7, now I have a question, does anybody know where Dark Fox is? I haven't heard from him in ages!

AAAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!! lol jokes. Nice to see you're still here DF

And Syntbaggen, thank you. Now I'll post up chapter 8 because I can. Oh but Chapter 9 might take some time to get up so you'll have to be patient, oohh looking over this chapter, we actually get some fighting now!! Yay and about freaking time!!!

Chapter 9

Fox had been unconscious for about half an hour and the medic robots had already managed to fix his side and get rid of as much blood as possible in the short amount of given time. One robot climbed its way back into Fox’ armlet and the other held up two front claws and formed a light electrical charge. The small robot placed this charge across Fox’ arm and held it there briefly. Electricity gently coursed through Fox’ body and his eyes flew open. With a groan and a shake of his head, the robot instructed in its metallic voice,

“Please lie back and allow for final scans for injuries before moving.”

Fox laid back and allowed the robot’s invisible x-ray scanner to check him for any injuries that may need fixing. Once the scan had been completed and confirmed, the robot said in the same monotonous, metallic voice,

“Final scan shows significant blood loss, avoid over exertion. Thank you for using Medibot 1.0.”

Fox held out his armlet and the robot jumped lightly and folded itself back into the small space that it previously occupied. A rejuvenated Fox felt at his side to check the work of the robots, and they had done a very good job; he would have to thank Slippy on his emergency robots. Checking his injuries, Fox found he now had some minor stitching in his side that wasn’t recognizable from a distance but closer up, it was more obvious. Carefully testing his side by moving against it to see its limitations, Fox quickly found that the stitches would be a huge effort to break and found that he could stretch his body in the same way he could previously without very much strain on his side. Content, Fox sat down to think about his situation he now was in. As far as he knew, he was the only one that could fight the Venomian soldiers within the building and with the hostages being held, Outside forces would be unable to move against the soldiers without risking hostages. He needed weapons; fast. Checking the surrounding area, Fox looked for weapons unsuccessfully. As he searched, he recalled the events before he was knocked out. All he concentrated on was Krystal, how hopeless she looked. Then a flash of memory saw his blaster being shot from her hand and falling to the ground. Bolting upright, hitting his head against a shelf he was checking under for something that could be used as a weapon, Fox ran to the entrance of the store silently. Checking the main passage through the middle of the Mall, and the upper levels as was his mistake last time, Fox ran out to find his blaster. The one weapon that could help him. The blaster was easy to find and Fox could not believe that the soldiers never took the gun away. Fox cocked the gun and let out a deep sigh in preparation and dashed up stairs to get a better view of his enemy. Recalling the memory of Krystal being taken away from his side by the soldiers, Fox remembered the place Krystal had been dragged into. Fox ran across the balcony silently to get a better look at where he needed to get. As expected, there were a guard placed at either side of the entrance. Sitting down briefly, Fox contemplated his next move. He decided upon what to do. Keeping low and silent, he ran to the other side so he was on the same side as the holding area. Kicking off his sandals, as they would only hinder his movements from now, Fox glanced over the edge at the fall and drew the blaster and set it to silenced. Fox dropped off the edge of the balcony. He shot his first shot as he was in the air, hitting the first guard directly on the forehead. Fox hit the ground and rolled to lessen the shock. Midway through his roll, as he had practiced many times in combat simulators, he shot the other guard who was still reeling from the shock. Acting fast, without thinking about what he had done, Fox ran in to meet some more soldiers who were guarding the inner areas. As he ran past the bodies of the guards, Fox rolled and picked up the gun in his free hand. A swarm of soldiers were issuing from the sides of the holding area.
