Redeemer
I would not like a long distance relationship,I can barely handle one In real life,I got dumped, yeah. I DO NOT APPROVE So... are you saying you're afraid of future relationships because you got dumped once? Everyone, at some point in their life, has been dumped. It's something that happens, and for good reason - relationships end because the people are not well-matched. Hell, if I was scared by past relationships, I would probably never even talk to men, ever. XD My point is, we've all had our bad pasts regarding relationships, but you should never, ever let that bring you down. Sure, be more cautious and perhaps pace things a little slower, but don't cut yourself off. You'll miss out if you do.
Thu'um
i don't have an oppion, they can work, but only if the to people are paintient and dedicated, you wouldn't want to be in one if you arn't either.
"User"
I've been in three relationships in the last 2 and a half years. Two were long distance and one of those lasted for over a year, the other for 8 months. Both long distance relationships had me involved seeing my GF on multiple occasions (4 and 3 respectively). My most recent (local) relationship only lasted a couple of months because we weren't as compatible as we would have liked. This all being said I think I have a pretty good idea when comparing both local and long distance relationships. As others have already pointed out (Steve specifically) you do need to invest more to make such a relationship work and it presents it's own unique challenges - including what you want to get out of the relationship specifically. Myself, I would never go back to a long distance relationship as having a GF who's local is a million times better, even though I believed I "loved" my first two ex's more than my most recent "local". Of course, this is just my opinion. However I'm going to say this, most of the people who I know who have contemplated or are in long distance relationships are in most causes too lazy to get out of the house and instead spend a shit load of time are their computer on dating sites or what not. Furries in particular come to mind immediately because a lot of them are more socially awkward then your average joe and spend years dating a "mate" without actually meeting up with them and "go through" several of them over a period of time. I've seen it constantly over my 6 years in the fandom.
Gene Inari
For the record, the Wisconsin girl I was interested in was a friend of a friend before that point and we all met at a anime convention out in Wisconsin. So the lazyness argument does not apply to me.

Not only who you mention are the Hardcore furries, who don't believe they have hands, but paws and fuzzy ears and the like, but -most- people like to never go outside and just have fun on the comp. Problem, User?

I've seen it constantly over my 6 years in the fandom. I understand what you mean about people being lazy and not going to meet. That's not the case with me though. There are problems beyond our control preventing my GF and I from meeting. The main thing being that she's still underage and I could get fingered for something if I go. (I'm turning 19 next month mind you, so I'm not some old fart creeper.) The other being her parents don't know about me and might not take too kindly to me. So those are my problems with my relationship, but I'm willing to be patient and wait them out. And so is she.

"User"
Playing the jail bait wait game, huh? *shot* Of course YOU would know. Since said ex-GF was also a member of the KLA. I mean...I've been asked by females to lie about my age on more than one occasion... :troll:
Gene Inari
Haha. This is true. In a bit of an inversion, I was the one being waited on with my ex at the time (she's slightly more than 2 years older than me). I haven't needed to lie about my age (too much), and if I needed to, it's easy because I'm short.

Sluggsnipa
We're talking about Jailbait and Furries? WTF? Oh please,I'm not sad about my GF dumping me,I know there are other ladies,I don't let something as trivial as a breakup get me down, besides,I didn't see much Chemistry, you guys DO NOT know me off the internet. On Topic I don't like the fact of Long-Distance relationships,to me,it makes it seem like you're just friends. I wouldn't like it unless I REALLY liked the chick I was with, like I LOVED her. Drasiana
It's worked out for me for about seven months now. Yeah, some long-distance relationships don't work out, but neither do most real-life relationships. Actually I think there's something especially charming about finding a working long-distance relationship; lacking a physical aspect but being able to remain in love with your counterpart is admirable. Fluxy
Me and Milky are together now, BTW. I would officially like to proclaim my love for Milky and his huge... Heart, as it won me over all the time, rather than turn me on my.... Bad side, as he knows and respects everything about me, even my very prominent.... Points of knowledge and intellect..... He also thinks I'm sexy, so we're starting this. [sorry, Steve if this was too much, You know I had to.] EDIT: This relates because it is long distance. Also, if that comment made you giggle, you have a very dirty mind, and i am ashamed of you. Sylum Edit: God dammit nick XD
