3D games are kinda pointless

The 3D on my 3DS works fine, but I can barely tell the difference between 3D and 2D, in fact 2D kinda looks better. I don't see why anyone would go out of their way to play a game in 3D, its not like it makes the game better or anything. And when you think about it, if 3D was so much awsomer, then people would still go to the stage theatre.

That's what they said about computer generated graphics too.

Personally, I don't mind the 3D. I don't crank it ALL the way up, I stop it just short of max because the images seem to be sharper while not actually affecting the overall 3D distance.

I think it's perfectly fine the way it is, it's just missing Star Fox. :P

They give you the option to turn off the 3dness, that's all you need. The 3dness isn't necessary, but to some people it adds a lot, others it doesn't, it's just a really cool feature, and there is no reason not to have it. So yeah, it is pointless, but that's what video games are... pointless, I love em nonetheless, but it's not like beating them does anything.

3D is cool, but not necessary. I like it in some things and hate in others.

I like the 3DS's 3D most of the time.

3D isn't actually great for people who have bad vision, so I can understand them having little interest in it. That being said, though I don't own a 3DS, I see huge potential in 3D video games as a whole; immersion has always been a huge staple in gaming and well-done 3D would do that wonders. I demoed just a simple racing game in 3D and...really, it was the only time I've ever found myself wowed and interested by a racing game.*

*Mario Kart not included

with advancements in technology and entertainment, 3D will become more and more of a necessity.

If it ever becomes a necessity, that would suck.

I like some 3D, but making it required would be stupid.

Guest Mr. Nintendo

I don't care much for the 3D for some games (You betcha I will use it in DoA: Dimensions) but something's missing...

I doubt 3D will ever become "necessary" considering you can only safely use it for a certain people of time and I don't think they've yet figured out how to make 3D work with people who are stereoblind. It's a fun gimmick for now but it's not THE FUTURE...just part of the future.

It kills me that I can't find the original battlemorph advert, dude. A guy is playing the game, then he throws up, dude (90s video game ads were REALLY weird dude). That's the biggest problem with 3D, dude, motion sickness, dude.
