DZComposer
In honor of this day, I present the Canadian National Anthem. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yW8omJe-l0I Performed by Russians. Joking aside, it is a well done performance. And there's this instrumental arrangement that I absolutely love: Those last chords... Full Orchestra plus Full Organ. Borderline orgasmic. So many countries have these grand, stately, marches or hymns for the melodies of their National Anthems. What do we Americans have for ours? A fucking British Pub drinking song . DZComposer
Other countries whose anthems I like (melodically) with the style: USSR/Russia - Hymn Japan - Hymn Mexico - March Italy - March Germany - Hymn China - March South Korea - Hymn Portugal - Hymn Luxembourg - Hymn Ireland - Hymn Finland - Somewhere between a Hymn and a March Denmark - Hymn Norway - March Sweden - Hymn South Africa - Hymn Spain - March Turkey - March Pakistan - Somewhere between a Hymn and a March The US anthem can be improved in some March-style arrangements, but not so much when performed by talent-less pop stars at the Super Bowl. Note that this list is on a purely musical standpoint. Just because I like the musical form of a country's anthem doesn't mean I endorse its policies. "User"
Ahhh Canada Day...nothing like being in a sea of 300,000 Canadians dressed in red and white all crowded around Parliament Hill to catch a glimpse of the future king of Canada and offer their willing to bow down to him as our head of state. I've never been in a such a huge crowd in my life. It took me about an hour to move 100 feet. Poutine was consumed afterwards, as well as booze. Anyways, while exploring around Parliament Hill and the embassies I ended up somehow in Quebec and I wanted to GTFO asap as a result but that's a story for another time. Now we move on with our daily lives. Oh well...there's always next year. eh Only Canadians can say that. There is no i in "Canada". Happy Canada day. Thanks! I AM AMERICAN Although I do have like 25% Canadian in my blood, so I guess I should say "Happy Canada Day, EH! MAPLE SYRUP FOR ALL!" Yes! What's Canada besides Maple Syrup, Eskimos, Ice, Moose and Bieber? Oh, And Fira XD And myself. Also royalty vacation zone. Not that it's mandatory for any of us to care. I don't even know why I originally went in the first place, other than just to try and find something to do.
