Stumbled over these couple of teasers just now.

And these are the words of UndyingNephalim, the driving force behind the dead and burried fan game Project Kursed.

Some might vaguely remember my name attached to the mod known as "Project Kursed" that faded away several years ago. Ever since I detached myself from that I've spent my time learning to make models and work with various game engines. I've deemed my abilities acceptable now to resurrect a Starfox idea I've had for years now.

The goal of this game is to present Starfox in a psudeo-RTS style game. Players will choose their fighter pilots, command a squadron, and customize and upgrade the fighter craft in their squadron. The single player campaign will follow the exploits of Krystal as she leaves the Starfox team and joins the Cornerian Army. The story will unfold with her discovering some secrets of her past, most notably the fate of her homeworld Cerinia as the Cornerian army begins uncovering ruins of her extinct species. Multiplater and Custom battles will allow players to assume the role of several different factions in addition to the Cornerian army, such as Andross' forces and the Aparoids. Players will construct bases, build up an economy, and field armies of ships as they do battle.

I've no release date yet, though I plan on releasing playable demos regularly. As the saying goes, "It's done when it's done."

Of course, scepticism is allowed. But know that UN is one of those people who tend to go trough with their projects, and have impressed me with a couple of Zelda RTS fangames earlier. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, and wish him best of luck with his project.

Well, Project Kursed may have failed, but maybe he'll have better luck with this one.

Lets see what he can do.

An RTS revolving around a single character?

How does that work? o_O

Well, the whole Command&Conquer series kind of revolves around the sole character of Kane. And it's a damn kickass STR. (save for the last one)

And about this trailer:

Kane and his army, the Brotherhood of NOD.

Krystal doesn't have an army, and giving her one is a serious lolwut moment.

At first I was happy.

Then I saw that Krystal was the star and was all "wat".

Seriously, these models look pretty good (except ironically the very space ship Krystal flies in), but RTS stories are meant to be large scale and expansive. Its very poor to focus them entirely on the exploits of a single character. All the great RTS games with a character-based story had several heroes for a reason.

The thing I feel needs to be asked is whether or not this is gonna be about Kursed, or Krystal, in the end; No matter what they say now, that might change.

And it is seeming to be about Kursed [As he was doing Project Kursed before hand, and this is assuming one of the Command endings, if I am right] why is it a STARFOX game. Like, that is all I can really think of asking now for the moment. Is this gonna be a game that has the StarFox crew in it, or a StarFox game?

And yeah, these models are very respectably good. I just wish, as this is gonna be a StarFox game, to see, oh, I dunno, maybe some Fox, Peppy, Falco? Heck, even Slippy would do. Although, in retrospect, Using Krystal/Kursed [Whoever they plan to portray] is a rather good way to find interest for the soul reason of people wanting some sweet sweet Krystal cardboard fan service. I am not a fan of that being a good marketing idea, but hell, I know it will get TONS of furry/Krystal/Kursed lovers on it.

Krystal joined the Cornerian Army in Command so it's not like this story point makes no sense

It's a fangame where he wants to explore her character and backstory in an RTS situation, I can buy that. And with the trailer he's already shown it's not only more feasible story-wise than most other Star Fox fangames I've seen, but as a game as well.

I'm happy for this yet troubled too. A little disapointed krystal left star fox to join the cornerian fleet, but what the hey! mabye the ending will be happier. Firstly i do see how this could work as a RTS, krystal would just be onther unit. Howver; she would be much more inportent, and possibly the center of the battle or a tide changer or somthing.

It LOOKS sorta like Sins of a Solar Empire from the footage there.

Well when i first read the discription of Star Fox 2 i thought that it was going to be an RTS game where Corneria was the good guys base, and venom was the bad guy base and you had to deploy a certain number of the Star Fox team to save the day. I thought that was a unique concept and could be done well, so and RTS is not all to bad of an idea. That being said the plot would have to be a lot more involved to fit the typical style of an RTS game. Krystal... really?

YES!! :P

I can't believe I missed this. I'm very much looking forward to this, Krystal really needs a back story, among other things.

Anyways, here's some more info I found from the Krystal Archive concerning this.

Honestly, I've been wanting one of these for so looong. Before I had the power to put pictures in program's i make, I even made a text based starfox Turn based Strategy game, cause... text based rts don't really work. >_> I don't care if the story sucks i don't care if none of it's caannon I don't care if krystal randomly gets an army, I want this game to happen!

Krystal's random army will be of fanboy mercenaries. There really can't be any other explanation. :)

*Watches trailer*

Not bad, not bad...

*Sees Krystal*

Err...what?

My reaction basically. She was the last thing I expected to see from the trailer.

Looks good though.

First of all, I'm an RTS lover. Secondly, I like StarFox. So RTS + StarFox? Frack yes, I've been looking forward to this.

I don't give a crack about Krystal, and if it revolves around her or not, I don't care either way. Only thing I want is a good gameplay.

Now take a look at this:

To me, it sounds more like Krystal will be some sort of hero like Jim Raynor is in StarCraft so I can live with that.

I've been a Nut about Krystal's background and Story for years, I'm Not really interested in rts games, But for this, I'll download when it's done. X3

I do think the models could be a bit more Hi-res though, I showed a Friend Game Dev friend of mine this trailer along with the images, and he wasn't particularly impressed with Krystal's, nor the ship's quality in model structure and Textures. I think it's pretty nice though.

Yeah, maybe your friend should help him then.

Due to the completion rate of StarFox FanGames (nearing the 0%) I'd rather stay with that rather than seeing it redone all over again and finally abandonned again.

Well, fan-games do not have the same constraints than pro ones.

When you're not paid to make a game, you have to keep everything else top priority and you make your game with what is left, in term of time and so on...

Using free stuff (engine, development tools) also generates additional work because things are not built in.

Not that I'm pissed of to read that comment of yours, it's kind of understandable, but well... fan-game developers just do their best with whatever means they have available... ^^'

Then by all means, post a link to the page where you can download it, or apply as a beta tester.
