DZComposer
We had a database mishap occur during an old account purge that resulted in a large amount of information being deleted, including user accounts and gallery images. It was scary, as the backups I had for Jun and Jul were corrupted, leaving May the most recent. After scratching my head, I found that Dreamhost had automated backups! They saved my bacon! Yay Dreamhost! Anyway, we lost about a day's worth of posts. Apologies for the weird downtime and lost posts.
Steve
Alright, we kinda lost half a day worth of posting, for the people that weren't around, here's the reason: I was doing my yearly account purge, everything was fine, the list went down to 637 members, I was about to finish, my last query being "delete all the members that have been innactive by 3 years", the search pulled around 60 members, I double checked, and clicked "prune" apparently, instead of deleting 60 members, it deleted everyone. Thanks to DZ, we found that dreamhost holds backups, and everything was restored, all but the last 16 hours. I ain't touching the purge settings of this forum software anymore , I'm kinda paranoid now. Again, I apologize to everyone and I thank DZ for answering the call and finding the solution in less than one hour.
Steve
You ninjaed me Seriously tho, thanks you literally saved my ass, I didn't want to be blamed for the second sfo apocalypse. Anyways DZ, I posted the search I did ,on the staff room, it keeps throwing random results , man, I'm not touching the advanced search options anymore. It worked with the poster filter, but it doesn't work with multiple filters, apparently. And yeah, my bad, I should have requested a backup before working with the database. As for the members that didn't get their avies restored, my deepest apologize, re-uploading them will fix the issue.
TheStarFoxMaster64
Somebody call Dr. Who! It was pretty weird: I was trying to make a post congratulating the "1,000 members" thread at the time... Oh, the irony.

LoneWolf
GREAT SCOTT! Nice save by the admins, but remember, always make a backup before dicking around in database files. It's saved my ass many-a-time when I've edited program scripts and such.
FoxMcCloud
Rule Number 1 of anything computer related. Backups..... also you might want to make backups for you backups. Just like lonewolf, It truly has saved my ass a few times when working around in some data systems... I once accidentally took down My entire college's website cuz of a mess-up in one of the servers I was working on. Let's just say I had to run restore some things and things were better again. Scariest time of my life. Backups are nice, are always nice :D

Steve
..yeeeah, I do backups of everything I do weekly and I'm extremely paranoid of not making them, specially when it comes to college crap. I just really didn't think this would happen since it's not the first time I prune accounts. But yeah, that was a big irresponsibility from my part. Weird things happen when you least expect them <_<
