Returning to School

Most of us are either in college or in high school, and it's around the time for us to go back.

I'm returning to college and moving into my new apartment first thing tomorrow morning. So when's everyone going back? And who's already back?

No school for me. This will be my first year of freedom. But I've been thinking of college. I've heard it's a good time.

I just graduated high school, and after thirteen years of education, I'm taking a damn break before I start college :P

So no 'back to school' for me yet.

I'm gonna be starting my second year in collage. This year my classes are going to be entirely involved in web design/web site building. There is a degree in web designing and it only takes one year to get, so by the end of my forth year not only will I have a bachelors degree in graphic communication/design, I will have a degree in web design as well.

Starting my first year of university on September 17th, we finish for Summer much later over here so go back later as well.

Waiting to see if they offer me a place in dorms, but seeing I live close they may request I live at home, which most people say isn't as good :(

We got a lot of Sophomores here it seems! I'll be starting my second year as well.

Eh, I was in the dorms last year, and I hated it, but that might be because I roomed with my stoner cousin for the year. (big mistake) It's one of the reasons I decided to get an apartment.

I hope you enjoy the dorms if you get in one, but I sure didn't.

Sorry to hear you didnt enjoy your first year dude :( I'll see what happens when it comes to accommodation, most halls of residence here are single rooms that are either around a central apartment or a corridor with a communal kitchen. Standards of living vary ALOT from cold breezeblock cell like rooms where 10 people share 2 bathrooms to self contained flats with 4 ensuite bedrooms, a modern kitchen and a living area with TV facilities.

I'll see what happens, but living close means that I can easily move out and head home if dorm life isn't really for me. It's all a bit circumstancial really, it would be hard if I got roomed with a group of sports science students that only ever play sports games and watch soccer, but I could also end up living with really down to earth people that share my interests, it's I guess it's impossible to tell for now...

Wednesday is the first day of the semester for me.

Thankfully, it will be my last one. I'll have my BBA and can finally start making some real money.

I go back to college on Monday. I'm thinking about going into the biological sciences but the classes for this semester aren't for biology.

Now It's been a year and a few months that I graduated with a 2 year degree in computer science - Computer Networking Admin. No job in that field yet. My town is tight and most companies looking for experienced or certified people in IT. I'm looking forward not to go to school again. Would most likely self-educate myself in computers. Pretty much the 2 year degree was worthless in my opinion. grr... $11,000 in debt. At least I didn't go for a 4 year degree or more in computer science. I would most likely be more in debt.

Advice for all college students or people who are thinking to go to college >> DON'T TAKE ANY STUDENT LOANS FROM FASFA OR SOME OTHER LOAN PROGRAM!!! You will be in debt fast!

I was just thinking to open up a new discussion somewhere else. Will update.

Student debt levels in the U.S. I believe have increased over 500% since 1999.

Yeesh, that much?

It's a cycle though; you take out student loans to go to a college where you learn skills to make money to pay off your student loans

OORRR if you get a 28 on your act (like me) you don't have to pull out that many loans!

I'm entering my final year of high school around Sept. 5th. I have to say, it's going to be intimidating since It's my final year. Gotta go all out this year and make it a good one!

On a side note I don't even have to go shopping for supplies this year. I still have supplies from two years ago I'm going off of. I bought waaay too much thinking I'd need it. XD
