Pendulum Xharma [Proto/me learning the ropes/ comic]

Yes, an odd start, but more background on the characters and scenery are going to come within the next strips.

Overall, this is a small short story comic I am doing to grow into the groove of comic making, as well as learn photoshop better. The art style may be a little in consistent from page to page, same with the layout, as I will be trying new things and getting what I am comfortable with down. I hope you guys will like it somewhat, and I hope to see growth in my art by the end of this comic!

[Do know, I usually scan my traditional, then do digital on it, but this comic will be purly based off my tablet work, no scannings. So I more than likely won't be doing anything too too cool drawing wise just yet that I could do in traditional]

Came here thinking it actually involved the band Pendulum. What I found was quite different, but was still very good.

Good job, needs more females.

Well sure, but you have only really seen one character, and the shitty job of an excuse I call part of anouther's body. XDDD

And thanks for all the comments, guys! I am putting more work into this next one so it looks better; I made my own frames rather than a template, so I hope it makes it look a bit better. Plus I did a bigger canvas size, as I am more comfy with that than how small the last one was Next page should be up in a day or so, seeing as I don't work morning shifts anymore, cept for Tuesday and Wednesdays.

Took tooooooo much work to color... I have no effing idea why, it just did. Darn you, comic panels and my need to finish you before I sleep. Well, all I know is that I will be getting one page done at about a 3 day average.

Day 1: Sketch, Line art, Script.

Day 2: Break from tablet, maybe some of the flat colors.

Day 3: Finish it up and post.

So far I have been able to keep that cycle nicely, and I hope I can keep it up for a while. Being in a routine of some sort is actually nice mentally for me, even if I stay up late due to my damn dog and her issues just to finish it. Hope you all enjoy!

  • 2 weeks later...

Next will be better, don't feel sorry about a single page! ;)

thankies! ^^

But yeah, just so many things went all wrong with this one, at least on my end. That added with a strong case of 'No Inspiration'... It really just fell apart a little. I do plan on making the next one much better and more worth it, indeed.

So I just wanted to Update on the Pendulum Xharma comic. I'm not stopping it, as it really is all written out [well, mostly. Just certain transfer sections aren't] but due to some recent encounters, and my own personal desire to do other simple larger art pics, and not to mention some actual commision/requests I got from people who live in my city, I've been rather thinking that I am just gonna put it on hold.

I'll make sure it finishes one day, sure, just for now, I'd rather work on my anatomy and poses. Two major things I never draw a whole lot are legs, feet, and tails [for anthros]. Heck, even normal animals I can't do right just yet! So I plan to work on those all a bit more anyways. [EDIT: YES! I now realize I listed more than two things. xD]

It's not meant to be a great comic, sure, but I want it to have some spice, and not just the usual shots and all. Heck, i wanna work on drawing open mouthed muzzles. I am sorta getting the hang of it from my doodles at work, but I still want them to get better, just like the other parts!

I should be heading to see my great friend arrevanthas.jpg?1 and she is gonna help me with some tips on shapes and structures for skeletons, and I think that'll help me a lot.

Till next time!
