Yeah that's a very original title

Anyways, its been a while I was looking to make a thread like this to give it a try. Not sure exactly what to say, my life is pretty uninteresting. But I'll try to find some good topics of discussions.

Anyways, I've been playing the recent pre-release 1.9 2 update for minecraft. Pretty cool stuff, its harder to die now, with the food bar, and skeletons arrows now actually miss from time to time. I wish i could play on a server though.

I also cant seem to find a damn npc village ! I must satisfy my urge of burning it down ! :3

Apart from that I've been working on the mod. I'm a little stuck on how to do the wall leaning and the cover system, though. Source can be a pain in the ass sometimes. Anybody is a programmer around here ?

Also, for those following the mod I'm working on, I'm curious, what are you expecting from it ? I mean, do you expect just shooting stuff or platforming, puzzle solving, rpg elements ? I'm asking this here because its more discrete.

Also, I got all my sfo credits into Space Dynamics, just to see If I could take over the company Turns out you can't even if you're the major shareholder

Just got starfox 64 3ds.

I like the 3d effect, and the graphics. The messed up music is easy to ignore a few minutes in the game. The controls feel way different tough. I wish i could play Starfox Snes with a 3d depth effect, it would be awesome :D

Its funny, lately I've been completely unable to work on school work... I've been coding project sfr the entire week! Even in class, I'm coding on the mod instead of coding the exercises !

I guess the fact that I'm redoing class doesn't help, however I just wonder why my priorities are all messed up...

Also, my doctor added ritalin to my usual medication cocktail, I guess that can explain some of it

Also I have no ideas how people are able to lead teams for a living, its so complicated and not so rewarding. Even worst, if you break under pressure you're taking down the entire ship with you...

Anyways, we may have a few interesting things to show this month including a nice 3d model of one of the cornerian soldiers we'll be using. Fox and co aren't ready yet unfortunately, we had some of our people disappearing and reappearing.. We may also show concept art, but maybe not. We might even just show that stuff here instead, since its less obvious.

That's pretty much about it for now.

Urgh, my programation teacher gave us a very mind numbing assignment. Doing boxes of text, that can contain many boxes of text, which contains other boxes of text... And these boxes can have different layouts for the text they contain !

Also I've been trying to get back into my linear algebra, so I can finally get my climbing code to work ! The most annoying thing is that in french and english the terms for values and operations are differents and confusing.

I kinda neglected this place. I'm not even sure if its worth continuing to post here.

But anyways, I've been in vacations since the month of March, thanks to the student strike. However, our next semester will start later and finish later, because they had to move the two months we've missed at the usual semester beginning. That's going to be lame..

How do they expect us to remember what we did in March and February ?

Also I got to 24 years old in May, which is kinda annoying. I hate getting older for some reasons, especially when I see people the same age around me that have kids and an apartment, while I'm still stuck at my parent's house for a while. No job, no girlfriend, no money. At least I got plenty of free time..

I could have probably gotten a summer job, but I was in such a bad shape because of my depression that my parents and my friends would tell me its not a really good idea. So I listened to them.

And speaking of that, I know it sounds weird, but I'm somewhat glad to have felt the effect of depression at least once in my life. Like that I can compare and see that there's nothing worse than that. Its not sadness, its emptiness, complete utter emptiness, and you get really numb to exterior stimuli, like if the world was less stimulating or alive. And also that little "voice" in your head that cheer you up and keep you happy through your day, it just stops. Also, you feel like a big heavy bag of potatoes, or like if you were a walking dead , except you're not walking, you're in your bed doing nothing.

And recently all kinds of weird things are happening. Like a few days ago I got this dream where I was kicking some guy in the face, and for some reasons I actually kicked in the real world and got flying off my bed. But really far, and I even cut my back on my night table, it left long and somewhat deep marks. First time it happens to me.

And also sometimes, for some reason, without anything particular happening, I go from euphoria to sadness in the blink of an eye, and back again.

Another weird thing that I completely hate, is when I launch visual studio to get some programming done, and I just block there in front of my code, like if suddenly I didn't knew how to code or read code anymore.. Its been happening for 2 weeks now, and I'm really pissed about it. Its like writer's block but for coding.

On the Starfox fan side, weird, awkward things again. I'm getting so desperate that I've been writing emails to Nintendo. Desperate of what ? Well that's the thing, I'd like to see Fara make a comeback in the game. However, I don't want to scrap Krystal or Fox x Krystal, I just want to see her as a secondary character that comes to help from time to time, just like Katt or Bill, is that too much to ask ?

I actually got an answer from Nintendo, basically they said they would compile my comment, and share it to other departments, which must be short for "I will put that in the paper shredder". But even if they did read my comment I'm afraid nobody there would even be able to remember who's Fara.

Bah, whatever, it actually felt good to do something, might try to gather people to send many request to Nintendo, and include Fay and Miyu along the way. They might even google Fara, and maybe remember they actually own the character..

Another thing, I've come to accept that lots of people are Krystal fans and Starfox fans, not only Krystal fans. Even if its hard to tell at first..

Well actually its a little because of our good friend Alain. He's probably the first person I saw that would say he's a fan of Krystal and at the same time would work on a project that doesn't even feature her, and that features Fara. And yet he selflessly put a lot of hard work on the project, being genuinely interested.

This made me feel like a complete dick though, its not his fault however. I would never have even helped or played one of those Krystal centric mods and games that were being made, like project Kursed, or Starfox RTS (the rts with krystal's face everywhere ). And even less have any interest if I were to even work on those. But yet he's helping us.

So basically, I did what I had to, I just stepped on my pride, and added Krystal to the list of featured characters for project SFR. It will be optional for purists though, but it will be there.

But yeah I think fanboys around the web could learn a thing or two from this, especially old bitter ones like me.

Oh and one other thing, my new psychologist told me that the best cure for depression is anger. So I guess I'll be playing TF2 a lot since it really pisses me off. ^_^

Hey there, this time no epic wall of text ! I'm starting to get my things sorted out !

I've been able to look at my code for more than 5 minutes !

Hell, we even found a very talented character modeller to help us with Project SFR, or should I say Lylat Last Stand.

And I'm becoming a beast at TF2, well mostly in public servers, but also on the sfo server. Even made top 3 on gravel pit, only being an engineer shotgunning people !

Thanks, that's quite a compliment coming from the most annoying spy I ever seen !

I still get nightmares from my first time on Junction, on the SFO server, where you kept backstabbing me, while we were getting mowed down by the engie nest of doom, even as a pyro :lol:

I find by far the toughest spies I've seen when playing as engie are the one's who either use head shots with the ambassador at a distance and end up killing me or at least doing severe damage before starting to sap my buildings or the one's that start sapping my buildings and then kill me with their 100% accuracy seconds later. Good spies can honestly take most sentry nests - even from good engies.

Two things: i am not particualry good at getting engies, i often panic or screw up. And Psy makes it super annoying, he always is in a corner lol and can't beggotten to with out sapping the sentry which is right infront of him XD

But what User said actually happened to me before, I already had some spy snipe me from like 5km away with his revolver and snipe my dispenser and sentry as well, with the whole team completely ignoring what was happening. It happened only once though, he quit doing it for some reasons.

That spy was lucky I didn't have my wrangler on me !

But I got even worst than that, I got some heavy shooting at my stuff through a thin wall.. That was such a dick move.

Ugh, spent 2 days trying to get a damn MVM server up, but it seems it won't work at all, probably because of my damn network switch...

Haven't got an answer to my question on GameDev for 2 weeks, about how to calculate a position from the mouse pointer on screen to 3d world and keep the correct proportions...

Missed my appointment with my psychologist, thinking it was actually one hour later. I ended up waiting 2 hours until she could see me...

Been having suicidal thoughts, again, the whole damn week ! Its pretty creepy.. I'm also hyper sensitive, and cry at random insignificant events.. I blame it on the medication..

Got back to school yesterday since the strike is over, and the workload is going to be ridiculous to catch up those 2 months we lost. Exams every weeks, they even force us to go to school on holidays !

The dog got sprayed by a skunk, it was midnight. Weirdest, irritating smell ever, it smelt like onions x 10 and garbage cans. However it wasn't the worst thing I ever smelled. We had to give him a bath, and he didn't like it at all, he didn't seem to mind the skunk's scent.

Also, tried to play MVM for 2 days. Stupid matchmaking taking an hour to find a damn game... Played by myself on a listen server and got exterminated by robots. Then I played the real thing for like 20 mins thanks to User and Scourge, but MannUp mode is just too hard, and eventually everybody left. Then later, I noticed everybody from SFO was on the SFO MVM server. I tried to get on the SFO server, it was full all night, got in for 10 seconds and noticed my equip screen was all scrambled, by the time I restarted and got back, no more room .....................

By that point I went "Rage Sleep".

Oh and elections will take place pretty soon in Quebec, I already know who I won't vote for! but then who should I vote for, if they all suck and lie ?... :hehe:

sorry to hear you have been having a rough time.....But its just that time of year where everything is busy and hectic

Well, they've changed my medication last Thursday, and I'm starting to have some unusual high and lows. But this far it seems things are getting a little better. I'll see next week when I'll stop completely taking strattera and cipralex.

Yeah and I really gotta post that news update on the moddb profile, its all written already, I just choke when I'm about to do it. At each months its the same thing, I get really nervous of posting those updates, because they make the moddb frontpage for a while, and I wouldn't want to attract too much unwanted attention. Especially given the lack of laws on the subject of fanworks ... I hope I'm not becoming paranoid though. I've even worked out a few emergency plant if we ever get a C&D. And one of my most promising idea is to spread all the mod content everywhere we can, to make it very hard to completely eradicate. But at the same time it might spoil the game for some or turn off the others...

Well, I have another though decision to make. Either continue at school or dropout.

Here's a little more context:

I'm currently in CÉGEP, its basically the equivalent of the last 2/3 years of high school elsewhere, except that it allows to specialize before university. The first year, I got through most of my courses with good grade, the second I started failing courses, and decided to change branch. But the thing is since 2007 I've been redoing the same courses over and over again. The reason why I was failing was because of my ADD, since I couldn't take ritalin anymore because it gave me really bad nervous tics, and the replacement medication wasn't effective. After a while it was now because of my lack of motivation, and then because of the depression I made after all those failures. But anyways, the result is that I've spent 7 years there when I should have spent 3. And I'm pretty sick with it.

Right now, I have only 6 courses left to complete and an internship period of one semester. And the problem is, I'm so not interested anymore in those courses I've all already failed once, that its like one half of me is trying hard to succeed but the other half is trying to ruin everything... Like I could sacrifice my whole night of sleep to write an essay for the French course that's due tomorrow, and then just skip a course later on even though if we miss more than 3 times we fail automatically... And when I try to motivate myself, and tell me this will get me a diploma and out of this freaking school, it just has no effect at all..

Anyhow, I'm trying to gather feedback around on what I should do. But most of my friends don't want to give their opinions or change subject, and my parents tell me I should continue and finish those courses and get my diploma. And also, if anybody has tips on motivation, I'd like to hear them.

And here's a pretty unusual thing that just happened to me. I was in my car, waiting at mcdonald's drive-in. And when the guy before me got to the paying window thing, he noticed he was too far from it, and started backing up. I tried to back up too, but the guy behind me wouldn't, so I couldn't do anything. The guy before me, stopped then honked his horn at me, and began once more backing up, dangerously close to my front bumper. Finally he got out of his car to pay, and when he was done he walked towards my car. At that point I was pretty sure he was just going to punch me or something. And when he gets at my window he has this huge psychotic smile, at that point I was pretty sure he'd try to kill me or something. D:

And he started telling me that he was trying to back up to line up with the paying window, and he asked me why I wouldn't back up. I answered that nobody behind would back up to let me back up. And then he yelled at the guy behind that he should have backed up. And he went back in his car and went off...

I think I got lucky on that, I'm not sure what I should have done if he had started thrashing my car or had tried to beat me up...
