    Ultimate Story 2: Dinosaur Planet

Alright, so here's what's going on. I have decided to post on of my greatest stories of my beloved Ultimate Story series: Ultimate Story 2. This story is my rewrite of my most favorite video game of all times: Starfox Adventures. Back when this game came out, I got it for Christmas and I almost instantly fell in love with it. It was amazing!!! I wrote this back when I was in middle school and what a year it was. The year that this game came out, I was having the worst school year of my life. I was heckled by my 8th grade homeroom teacher. He was horrible and the stress that I've been going through because of it fed on my Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Getting into this game was a way of coping with the stress. This was the first story that I've ever finished writing. I completed it on May 22 2003. It was so amazing. It was also back when I put the first Ultimate Story on hold for several years just to stay with the times. Also, because this is a second installment to my Ultimate Story, it will contain some spoilers as to what happened during the first story. If you want to read into the events leading up to this story, be sure to check out my Ultimate Story scrapbook. It should tell you a lot of the important events that take place. Now then, I will begin posting one of my favorite stories in the series and perhaps one of the most important stories of all, to me, at least. So, enjoy.

    Daemon Rising with a SMASH!

Introducing a fic I came up with since I was a teenager, and my first fic posted on this site. This one centers on SSBM as well as ReBoot's Season 4, specifically the first 4 episodes in the Daemon saga. Yes, there will be some members from the Starfox team, but that won't be till later. For now, here are the misadventures of Samus Aran and my OC/Pokémon Trainer, Akari, as they prepare for the war against Daemon and The Word! I will also be posting a vid for each chapter as well. Daemon Rising...with a SMASH! A/N: I was going to save this project for much later, by the time I'm done with the ReBoot/Pokémon crossovers, but I feel it might be foolish to wait that long. So here's the first chapter of a project I've worked on several years ago. This is actually a ReBoot crossover with Super Smash Bros. Melee, and it takes place during the Daemon saga. Enjoy. Chapter 1 - WARNING! Incoming...Guardians? Deep in the vast space of the Web, a humongous, yellow spaceship was found wandering aimlessly with no particular destination. It was patrolling the universe for any signs of danger that would be a threat to the fellow citizens of the Net. The pilot was a female in a red, orange cyber suit with a green visor. She was the bounty hunter, Samus Aran. So far it'd been very quiet ever since Megabyte was thrown into a portal while being mauled by a Web Creature. They usually hunt for sustenance and travel in enormous packs, protecting their "digital domain," as Ray would call it. Content, she decided to steer to Mainframe where her best friend, Bob, Guardian 452, was located in. She couldn't wait to see him and his friends again. She reminisced when she first saved his life after he was trapped inside a capsule which was launched by his rival. She was circling the planet as she saw him and immediately used her tractor beam to take him into the haul. The most stunning thing was that he didn't have his key tool, Glitch. So it was up to her to take care of him until he was well enough to meet Enzo, now known as Matrix, and the others. She eventually found some Deformed Sprites who were rebels to the Web Creatures and who were also on exile like him. Although they never spoke any English, she could understand them as they spoke in dial tones. So she recruited them to help her look after Bob, find his comrades, and save the Net. Just then an alarm brought her out of her reverie. She pressed a button on her dashboard and spoke to the Intercom. "Samus, we've got trouble!" It was a distress call coming from Mainframe and Dot, the commander of the Principal Office, was calling. "Oh, hey, Dot. I was just on my way to visit you...What do you mean by trouble?" Samus' face clouded as she heard the news. "I've sent Matrix and AndrAIa to patrol the System. Unfortunately, we're under attack!" "By who?!" Samus was shocked at the news. She thought it would be Megabyte again, but, unfortunately, it was nothing she'd expected. "It's the Guardians! They're heading straight for us! Hurry-!" Suddenly there was nothing but static, and since her equipment never fails, she was horrified. "Why are they attacking Mainframe? Who's in charge of all this!" She shook her head to clear it. "No matter. I won't attack them. I'll just watch them and find out who's making them do what they're doing. Something's not right. I have to go." Hopeless, she sighed and set a course to Mainframe as fast as the engines would carry her. A/N: Sorry if this chapter's short, but I'm stirring the pot. The good stuff will happen later. And here's the vid for that: And here's Part 2 of that said vid: Chapter 2 - Assault on Mainframe As Samus was heading to Mainframe she saw a few small armies of Web Creatures heading toward her ship. An alarm went off indicating that and she took the helm as she was shooting them to space dust. At first there were the hammer-head shark classes, but then they grew tougher. Others were more sophisticated like the rebellious Web Riders. There was actually a large group of the hammer-heads forming into a large entity. Fortunately, due to Samus's massive plasma cannon, they degenerated. Soon they retreated and it was smooth sailing, until she saw a horrible sight. The System was being demolished by the Guardians. Raids were coming from large jets soaring in groups, and on the other side were Binomes who were protecting the Principal Office. As she surveyed the damage she saw that the Control Tower was destroyed in the Kits Sector. It was the main reason why she lost Dot's call. But the strangest thing was there was a doorway in the sky. This was not good because it could leave Mainframe on-line and vulnerable to enemy attack, or worse Daemon's infection. She then realized that the Guardians were using doors instead of portals. "Whatever happened to their key tools...? Unless, could they have abandoned them?" She began to worry about the Guardians' actions; she believed that the super virus was behind all this. All the rumors she heard were true, especially from a good friend of hers as she called on the Intercom. "Akari, is that you?" "Yeah, it's me!" Akari had short, brown hair and she wore a pink shirt with the SSB logo on it. She was from somewhere in the Net, training her Pokémon as she took them to very exotic places. She always went by her motto as she always wanted to take them "where no Pokémon, or no trainer has gone before." One day she was sending all her Pokémon from Professor Oak's lab to the wide-open frontier where she lived with Mewtwo. While she was doing it, she suddenly got sucked into the computer itself and wound up in Mainframe. She hurriedly brought some Pokémon with her, just so they could eventually get used to it for the first few cycles. Since then she became Bob's assistant, fighting off viruses and Users. She was also the one who summoned Samus as the System was in peril during the war against the Web. It was then she used some of her Pokémon to look after Enzo and his friends until Bob was well. But as she grew older she decided to lend them to Mewtwo's care. She continued talking as the assault raged on. "Samus, there is something you should know. Y'know the rumors surrounding Daemon taking control of the Guardians and infecting the Net?" Samus nodded. "It's true! The super virus has infected other Systems as well, just like the same way she's trying to do here. Dot's trying her best to seal the others with a Firewall, but I'm not sure if they could be strong enough to...Wait! Why are they stopping?!" Sure enough the ships stood still. And Samus saw Bob who was in front of the Armada. Matrix and AndrAIa were also in the mix. On the other side a translucent face of a Guardian appeared. It spoke, "Your time has come. Lay down your arms, join with us!" Bob realized it was Cardon, his roommate at the Academy. Why is he mixed up in all this? Samus thought. He talked again. "That was the past. Now there is no past, no future, only the Word. And the Word is Daemon." He smiled at the sensation of being infected, although she realized it was her worst nightmare. The Guardians were being brainwashed by the infection as she saw some streaks of glowing green lines on his face. She swore that Bob will never be one of them and that she will protect him at all costs. Infuriated, Matrix shouted, "I've had enough!" Just then a barrage of missiles shot out from his aircraft and they started to hit the ships on the opposing side. Cardon's signal was no more, and the onslaught was on again. Samus couldn't possibly help them shoot down the Guardians. They were a vital part in defending the other Systems, and she kept remembering how Bob loathes people, even viruses, getting deleted. So she had no choice but to watch from above. A few moments later, the sky turned purple and radical lightning started to flash. There was a digital female that kept saying, "Warning, Incoming Game." It was a signal that a Game Cube was coming. Just then an enormous, electrocuting, purple cube was dropping onto the battlefield; the combatants didn't really care of what's happening, except Bob who ordered Matrix and AndrAIa to pursue it. As the cube was falling, she zoomed in on an individual who was running away from the Sector. It was Akari and she saw Samus' ship. She waved her hands, telling her that she needed to be taken up for safety. She did just in time before the Cube landed. She materialized inside the haul in a bright, silvery tube. She ran to the cockpit and warned Samus, "I think the Guardians didn't see us, but we should go just in case." She nodded in approval. "I agree. There's nothing we could do but watch and wait. We still have to keep our eyes peeled and see what happens. With Daemon, she could possibly do anything. I've never dealt with a super virus before." "What about the Mother Brain or Ridley...or even your dark self...?" "Those were just mere tools...they are nothing compared to this. We should watch closely and avoid being detected." With that she initiated her cloaking device that Slippy gave to her. It worked like a charm as no one, not even the Guardians could see her. She then noticed that Bob was still in the fray but he was using his powers to contain the Guardians' ships. However, something was wrong. After each blast, his body started to fade in and out and he was losing energy. "What's happening?" Akari asked. Samus guessed that it had to do with the merging of his Key Tool. She had a flashback of him doing it because it was a last resort in making a portal to Mainframe. At the time the Saucy Mare was caught in a Web trap created by Mouse, fortunately they all made it safely. After the Game Cube landed with a deafening boom, the sky turned back to normal. Samus and Akari continued to watch the fray as they were trying to figure out who or what they're dealing with. A/N: Akari is a Japanese name for a girl, meaning light and brightness. I thought it could be a nice touch. She is my OC, after all. Now you know a little something about my past. I always imagined bringing Pokémon to many unknown places, and I'd been fantasizing about helping Bob out with Samus. And now I'm writing about it, whoop whoop! Anyways, I hope you're enjoying this fic and I should warn you that...Well, everyone knows the story in Daemon Rising and so I've decided to put it in a different POV. More is yet to come, so stand by. Ciao.

    We Are VR Troopers!

We Are VR Troopers Episode 93 The Backstory Disclaimer: First off, I don't the VR Troopers, nor Mutant League Football. The former goes to Saban and Toei Entertainment, and the latter goes to EA and Sega; I just happened to be a huge fan when I was a youngster. Introducing the crossover I came up with since I was a kid. I came up with this idea since I was around 7 years old. And both things have influenced me greatly. It's strange that I was turned on by the VR Troopers and not their sister series, Power Rangers; yet, they never finished due to Saban running out of stock footage. If only we could finish a third season somehow. So, without further adieu, let me introduce you to something so bizarre that it may make a difference to both sides... This all happened during the start of the football season. Grimlord, Gen. Ivar, and Col. Icebot had begun their invasion on virtual reality. At The Battlefield, the former Galaxy Aces were defeating the Sixty Whiners seamlessly, until... The field was attacked and the Whiners were killed almost instantly during the bombing. Most of the audience evacuated; however, upon exposure to radiation, everyone gradually rotted and transformed into mutants, while some actually died. Blood Clot was one of the lucky players that left unscathed, yet he still turned into an abomination. Soon, all of the stadiums and fields were nuked, forming deep craters, landmines, and the enormous mutations. The only inhabitants that weren't affected were the dragon-like Aliens, as well as the Trollz. The majority of the survivors have turned themselves into skeletons with bare bones, or freaks with superhuman enhancements. Despite the sudden losses and destruction, the football season began a complete overhaul; the Mutant League Football was born, and customs were changed radically. Unbeknownst to them, the battle was also raging outside in the real world, where three young adults were recruited by Prof. Horatio Hart, enlisting them as the VR Troopers. Their mission was to put a stop to Grimlord's mayhem in virtual reality. They took the fight there, as well as the break through the reality barrier, while the games were still taking place. It wasn't until a young girl named Chita Comett was playing one of her favorite Sega Genesis games that she was introduced to them personally. She first met Ryan, Kaitlin, and J.B. as she became fascinated in learning karate at Tao's Dojo. Unfortunately, she wasn't as coordinated as the rest of the junior division, nor had good balance. Despite her hinderances, every once in awhile she'd hang out with the trio after school while also getting some help with her own work, as well as doing some odd jobs. Since then, Ryan had been a good friend and mentor towards her, and that actually developed her first crush. While the team went into battle she would watch them unfold via the professor's lab along with Hart and Jeb, encouraging her heroes on. Through a tear in the reality barrier on one fateful day as she was playing the same game, she was sucked into the War Stadium and came across the players; she recognized them within a moment's notice, and the team didn't lay a hand on her. They were quite impressed that someone from the outside knew who they were. Shortly afterwards, both the Slammers and Chita encountered the Troopers as they faced off with one of Grimlord's robots named Footbot that looked similar, though abhorrent, to an actual football player. Thinking it was an insult, Docken and Shocken led the ambush along with their close friends Blood Clot, Razor Kidd, Snake, Nelson, Mortar and the twin Trollz, Mo and Spew Puke. They later introduced themselves, and the trio couldn't thank Chita enough for finding some reinforcements while they were searching for her. After they took her home, they decided unanimously to make contact with them utilizing Prof. Hart's technical assistance. And that was how the bond between the Troopers and the Mutant League began. The guys could never forget all those times the Troopers have saved and assisted their hides as well as protected their domains. It was actually thanks to Professor Hart who managed to find some more of the resistors deep within virtual reality. They couldn't be more grateful on how their broken lives were spared: From the moment when the Vile Vulgars scattered out of their turf while the big bad made the nearby cave his temporary base in the Hump Dome as Tyler Steele was held hostage. To the Killer Konvicts and the Icebay Bashers helping them fight back at their slippery fields. Even the times when Grimlord invaded the Void Club, also known as the Indigo Sector, and the Rad Rockers evacuated unscathed. There were also the Road Warriors, Psycho Slashers, Darkstar Dragons, as well as others, and even the bullies such as the Terminator Trollz and the Slaycity Slayers lend a hand. As their determination grew, more and more teams bound together, drove away most of Grimlord's armies and befriended the trio. They were quite impressed that a small number of courageous, resourceful, not to mention average humans could stand up against such unspeakable odds. Although nearly all the players were united, there was a lonesome group of robots known as the Turbo Techies that resided on a distant, massive space rock called Asteroid 66; they had little to no interest working with organic lifeforms, skin or no skin, as they were too primitive for their tastes. They were the most mysterious and they were rarely seen, unless if there were to be a new Playoffs game, or the occasional Single Game. Not to mention they always spoke in beeps and chirps instead of communicating in "a normal manner" as Blood Clot would say. The location was eventually found as J.B. programmed Galileo in both worlds. Unfortunately, tragedy struck. The Battlefield was destroyed and the League's best team, the Galaxy Aces, have died trying to fend off Grimlord and his onslaughts. Everyone of the mutants had perished, excepting Blood Clot who narrowly escaped. Overtime, the War Slammers and their coach, The General, had officially made the Troopers allies to the war effort, as did the other regrouping teams scattered across the virtual realm. J.B. eventually got the Superhumans rounded up by Blood Clot from the Road Warriors, Ryan joined the Aliens who were recruited by the Razor Kidd who was dumped by the Psycho Slashers and became a vital part of the Screaming Evils, Jeb got Mo and Spew Puke and the Trollz due to their wicked sense of humor, Kaitlin got the Skeletons led by Snake from the Deathskin Razors, and Hart mentors with the coaches, mostly The General. At one point, the Superhumans and the Skeletons revealed they were human once before they were mutated, so they had a soft spot for the trio. And that was when Razor Kidd personally got involved with helping his best friend find his father and rescue him from Grimlord. Unfortunately the Mutants were overmatched by Ziktor's massive upgrade, even by Despera's fatal staff which incinerated some of their teammates before Ryan with his new power suit arrived. There was also a point when Snake and the Razorskins made a protest as they found out about Kaitlin's dark motives, which turned out to be her doppelganger's doing. And finally, with the help from J.B.'s little space probe, Galileo, he was able to find a desolate location known as Asteroid 66, the home of the lesser known team in the League, the Turbo Techies. And now, the long-awaited war has been declared. The fate of both worlds will soon be decided. Will Grimlord's long reign can finally be put to an absolute end in favor of the Troopers and Mutants? Only time, and space, can tell the final tale! A/N: The inspiration of Chita first came from a comic book that caught my eye as a kid that was simply named The Comet. And later I was also enthralled by how majestic and fast cheetahs were. I wasn't really into the comic much, and I did come up w/ the lame alias known as the Comet for Ryan (in his season 2 avatar) and Cheetah for...well, Chita. So I decided to name her Chita Comett instead; I just didn't want to give up on those terms entirely, but use them in a better fashion. This was before I started using OCs more properly, I was just starting out with fanfic concepts after all. Besides...Ryan Steele was indeed my first-ever crush. There was always something about him that fascinated me when I was a kid; even now I see him as the main hero. It could be almost anything really. I know it sounds embarrassing, but that's when this whole thing started. It's about darn time this series finally gets the finale it truly deserves. Too bad Saban ran out of footage; I don't understand why we can't just finish it with the advanced technology we have now. I doubt the cast would be willing to reprise their roles, and the actors that played Tao and Karl have bit the dust. So, I'm tired of false hope; let's finish this thing, shall we? Oh...and I thought I can do 2 parts in 1 vid, but it took too long... I'll release the 2nd vid and 2 vids in the next part, if u want to read along.

    The Bouncer Tetralogy

Welcome to a crossover I came up w/ since I was a teenager! Introducing The Bouncer tetralogy, a crossover between Dragon Ball Z and the underrated PS2 beat-em-up, The Bouncer! Hey, if Fanfictiondreamer can do it w/ her Ratchet/Kim Possible fics, might as well do this here too! After all, this underrated Squeenix classic deserves more love, am I right? So, here's an idea I came up w/ since before I started HS back in summer 2002. Originally this was supposed to be a trilogy,, you'll find out soon enough. Alright, here's the Prologue! The Mikado Saga Disclaimer: I don't own Dragon Ball Z, or The Bouncer. They belong to FUNimation and Square-Enix respectively. I just happen to be a big fan of them. A/N: Anyone remember the underrated beat'em up game for the PlayStation 2 back in the early 2000s, known as The Bouncer? Well, this is my first fic for these! This was a crossover story I came up with since before I started high school. I had a lot of great memories with those. Anyway, here's a story that centers on my OC, Ayame. She's a Z-Fighter and is on a quest to reunite the seven Dragon Balls, and one of them leads her to the dangerous, crime-ridden city known as Edge. Also, little did I know that Goku trained with Uub for a full year; either way, I'd disregard it. Besides, he wasn't good in GT anyways so it was all for naught. Like I said, it's been disregarded. This is an unlikely choice, but I hope y'all like this one. Let's get our fists rolling! Prologue It's been a few weeks after the 26th World Martial Arts Tournament. Uub was introduced into the world as a better half of Kid Buu, Vegeta was reunited with his family, and, as usual, Bulma was making last-minute repairs on the Dragon Ball radar. She was inside Goku's house deep within Mount Paozu and Goten and Trunks were wrestling happily in the fields, while Goku and Gohan were having a serious chat with Ayame. She had skin as white as a sheet's, brown eyes, and a tomboyish do of dark blonde and brown. She was dressed in a black t-shirt with the seven sacred balls embedded on it, along with a red pair of pants, black sneakers, and a little white device on her right ear which was used to translate various languages. She was a young Z-fighter who became interested in her idol just before he was attacked by his eldest brother, Raditz. And recently, she reconciled with Goku from his constant disappearances and all the trouble he made by letting his archrival, Vegeta, get the best of him. Her friends decided to give her a task to let her carry on by herself. By the time Bulma was finished making adjustments, she gave her a cap, a top, and some pants with olive green, black, and brown markings on them. "Ok, Ayame, here you go." She plopped it in her hands. "What's this?" Ayame asked, looking at the load with confusion. "This is a camouflage outfit. I'm giving you this, so you could stay out of trouble while you search for the last Dragon Ball. According to the schematics, it's located a few thousand miles south from here. Specifically, at the busy city known as Edge, particularly in Dog Street." "Dog Street? I've never heard of that location before." she said. "Neither have we. This is the first time a Dragon Ball has ever landed here. It's not necessarily a place for dogs, I hear it has a very high crime rate, and a low economy." Bulma analyzed. "So, you'd best be careful to what's out there, that's why I gave you this outfit. Put it on!" Ayame hesitantly did it. It was a bit snug around her body, though it was lighter than her usual clothing. As she left the bathroom, she asked, "Well, what do ya think?" Everyone muttered she looked pretty good. "That outfit suits you well." Goku said. "Yeah, you look just like a soldier." Gohan added. "Uh, thanks." She was too bashful to say anything else. Then, the noble Saiyan gave her the extending Power Pole. The sacred weapon he used to have when he was just a kid. Bulma couldn't help but blush when he held it. It brought back so many memories since the two first met on the same mission. He also gave her permission to use the flying Nimbus for transportation. Ayame accepted, and the feeling of deja vu was so intense in here. "Just remember everything we taught you, and you should make it out all right." "Of course." "I want you to be very careful at that place. There are street gangs and crooks all around. I'm always worried as the money keeps drying up for any judicial support." Bulma warned as she handed her the indicator. It was on full power, and the Ball was stagnant. Everyone wished her luck as she headed outside to the balmy air. It was sunset, and the two kids stopped playing as they noticed Ayame exiting. "Good luck on hunting for the Dragon Ball!" Goten beamed. "Yeah, if you need us, we'll be there to kick some butt!" Trunks added with a kick. She hesitated, took a deep sigh, and cleared her throat as she called, "Flying Nimbus!" Clearly, this was her first time, and she was nervous since she may not ride it. Only those with a pure heart can use the small, yellow, mobile cloud. It arrived in a manner of seconds, and Ayame was able to stand on it without falling. It was pretty spongy, making her wobble a little. With a salute and a final farewell, it took her where she needed to go. She hoped with all her honed skills, things won't take a turn for the worst. It was only one Dragon Ball, right? A couple hours have passed by the time Ayame reached her destination. It was already nightfall and she was just mere feet away from the spot on her locator. At first, it was still, but now it was on the move. The Dragon Ball was gonna be a little harder to spot in this crazy street. The numerous roofs would make it difficult to find it, so she stepped off the Nimbus and it flew away, leaving a temporary, thin, yellow streak in its wake. She peeked from the side of a tall brick building and headed toward the blinking light, lowering the beeping noise so onlookers wouldn't notice her. The dot blinked more rapidly, indicating she was getting warmer. Then, at the side of her eye, she saw a woman on her laptop through a window. She was a brunette wearing a long, white bathrobe and she was typing vigorously as she was watching a news flash. The screen read it was on Channel 99, and big letters highlighted it. They read: DFBC: Drf Broadcasting Community Ayame stopped short as she heard a woman with long dark blond hair in a red formal sweater announce the bulletin. "Our top story. Mikado, the company heading the international space project, announced the launch of an additional solar power generator satellite. The announcement comes as a surprise to many." A man with a strange complexion appeared. The screen read his name as Dauragon C. Mikado. He had shoulder-length, stringy dark blond hair much like the woman's. Apparently, he was the head honcho of this Mikado company. Still, Ayame never heard of this before. She continued to listen as she stepped closer and glued her eyes to the TV. "So, what exactly is a "Solar Power Generator Satellite"? Well, we've prepared some diagrams, so let's take a look." The gizmo shifted its scenery from an anchor room, to an image of Earth floating in space. "First, an Earth-based station transmits a guidance signal." It then showed a satellite absorbing energy from the sun. "Upon receiving the signal, the satellite uses a large mirror to generate electricity from solar power." The craft began to flash and then sent an energy wave towards the Earth. "The electricity is then converted to microwave radiation, and sent down to the ground station. The ground station then converts the microwave radiation back to electricity, which can then be used for general purposes." Finally, the planet had a grid surrounding it. Each square was lit up as the sun's rays were received. Then, the TV returned to the newsroom, with a grim look on the woman's face. "The question is, do we need such a costly energy program during this time of recession? And how will people be affected by the large amounts of radiation raining down on Earth? While the Mikado Corporation is in charge of a major internationally funded public project, no details about the launch thus far have been revealed. We will keep a close eye on this story." Ayame was feeling the same thing. "Hm, good point. How would we be affected by all this radiation? Would we get cancer upon contact, and not even know about it? Is this man trying to kill us or something?" she wondered while rubbing her chin. Then the computer started to burst to life. There was bold text at the center: Confirmed The brunette entered and it changed to Target Dominique Cross. As it did, there were a few screenshots of the individual. And information was shown at the lower left-hand corner. Name: Dominique Cross Sex: Female Age: 15 Height: 4' 10 What a coincidence, Ayame is 15, too. There was a pic displaying a bar of some kind. And there was a logo etched on its wall saying Dog Street in graffiti. At the center was a messy canine's face, hardly showing it despite the thick fur lines covering it. Sticking through it were two bones, similar to a pirate flag. Ayame swallowed hard, thinking that place really was bad news. She desperately hoped she wouldn't go there, and she wasn't even 21 yet. Finally, the PC had an encrypted message. It later revealed itself, stating: Target headed for the "Fate" bar on Dog Street. Mikado Corporation is already on the move. Permission to eliminate target if necessary. "Dammit. The beat us to it?" The brunette slammed her computer closed and stormed out of the room. Ayame ducked behind the bushes just seconds before she barely had the chance to see her. Catching her breath, she thought, The target. Could it be the one carrying the Dragon Ball? Without wasting any time, she looked at the radar once more and followed the moving spot. As she did, she noticed a chopper overhead and she could hardly hear the pilot. "We've arrived at the target coordinates. Deploying assault units!" Ayame didn't care about the mysterious men covered in black, rubber suits, or the devastation they caused to the nearby house, or when they were leaping from rooftop to rooftop like tree frogs. She just kept chasing after the Dragon Ball, until she grinded to a halt. She was shocked of what she saw. That's the girl on the computer. And she has the Dragon Ball! Ayame recognized her immediately. Dominique was running, as if she was late for an appointment. She had on leather boots and a yellow rain jacket. She donned on an orange bow through her elegant blond hair. She looked as pale and thin as Ayame, and the Dragon Ball was inside one of her coat pockets. Earlier, Goku gave Ayame his four-star Ball, just in case she needs it for proof, and whenever she gets close to it. The Balls illuminate when they are put together. Sure enough, it was to that particular bar. Ayame sighed in irritation; bars were never good to hang around in, as they always ask for trouble, and drinking, and brawls. She always despised them, and she wishes she would never drink when she grows older. The neon sign on the roof shone "FATE". She saw a bulky man with bleached yellow hair and two small, metallic horns sticking out. He was wearing numerous chains and arm braces, and there was a black, shiny jacket. On the back was a large, white patch and a Cactuar on it. A "No" sign was covering it. His faded jeans and shoes were baggy and humongous. He almost looked like a living truck! "Hey, Volt." Dominique greeted as Ayame was hiding beside the bar. "What's with the sour face? You're scaring away the customers." "Sorry, just doing my job." He replied in a vehement, grunting voice. "Heh, yeah." She headed inside and the atmosphere shifted. Ayame saw snow falling, but the sky was partially clear. A huge full moon was shining down. "Sure is weird weather for spring..." The bouncer thought aloud as he gazed up for a few moments. He walked inside the bar, too, not even noticing the ninjas jumping toward the place itself! Ayame had a brief, uneasy feeling. With her enhanced skills from the Z-fighters, she was able to sense people invading her space. These men she felt were definitely up to no good. She tried to remain calm as she reminded herself, all she has to do is get the Ball and get out! Hurriedly, she went to the rear and climbed on top of the closed garbage disposal and looked through a tall, glossy window. Ayame saw Dominique as she entered the stingy, overcrowded place. A jukebox at the top floor was playing some kind of blues tune with an old piano. A plethora of ancient, dusty pictures and various alcoholic companies in neon signs were hung up. "Hi, Boss!" "Hey, Dominique. He's been waitin' for ya. Hurry up!" An old bartender behind the counter with snowy, short hair suggested while he was taking orders for patrons. She climbed the old steps to the next floor. "You're looking busy, Kou." Dominique said sarcastically to a man with long, greasy, brown hair. He had tiger stripes tattooed all over his lean body. He wore a very thin dark grey shirt, and long army quarteroids. "Hey, if we're not doing anything, it means the bar's doing just fine. Right, Sion?" He motioned to a younger man sleeping on a tilted wooden chair. He had spiky red hair like a punk's. He wore a thick collar around his neck with a chain descending from it, a fire red Dog Street jacket with a yellow inning and black sleeves, blue shorts with chains hanging from it, red socks, black sneakers, arm bands, and motorcycle gloves. "Good morning." she interrupted. He immediately stood the chair upright, and his hazel-blue eyes looked stern. "Hey, where were you? You're late." "Well, uh..." Dominique almost immediately recovered, "Hey, Sion when's your birthday?" "Birthday..? Why?" Volt walked up to the bored trio as he announced, "Sion, it's your shift." "Yeah, yeah, I know." He stood up slowly and began to walk down to start, until Kou mentioned something. "Come to think of was exactly one year ago today you first came to this bar and started that giant brawlfest." "Then that means today's your first anniversary as a bouncer!" Dominique exclaimed. "Hmm..." Ayame's eyes lit up at that interesting remark, still watching from the lower part of the window. Inside, Dominique took out a silver necklace with a pendant attached to it. "Here. I got this for you." she said, handing it to Sion. "What's this?" he made a questionable demeanor. "A present!" she smiled. Suddenly, a huge clash startled the group as the ninjas with the rubber suits crashed through the glass ceiling. Everyone gasped as they looked up at the intruders. Even Ayame was just as frightened. "Oh no." Kou whispered. "What the-" Volt murmured. Sion immediately came at her defense as he raised an arm. "Get back, Dominique!" They're Mikado's special forces. The spiky wrestler thought. "They're making their move." Kou said as he made a fighting stance. While the bartender was evacuating the civilians, Ayame hid herself inside the dumpster as the three men fought them off. Dominique just stood there, frozen like a statue. There were five of them in all against three bouncers. So Sion teamed up with Kou as they fought two of them, as Volt dealt with one. The rest of them leapt off to the ground floor. Volt's strong build made it easy for him, however, his weight made him move a bit sluggish. Sion and Kou were much quicker, but had less stamina than him. Sion was like a street fighter, using nimble kicks and punches to knock them to the floor. Kou specialized in tae kwon do, as he kept using his legs to sweep them. And Volt was much like a wrestler, probably a mix between Hulk Hogan and the Undertaker. Eventually, they met the remaining two foes, but their mobility allowed them to go higher and faster, confusing the trio. Then, a distinctive figure with spiky hair sticking out from his red goggles and head straps dropped from the roof toward the damsel. It looked as if he was the leader of the fearsome five. There was nothing but shambles, and there was nowhere the scared lady could hide. She met him face to face, and the ninjas easily knocked the bouncers back down to the lower level, crashing through the railing! They were stunned on impact, and the menacing assassin grabbed Dominique as she screamed. "Dominique!" Sion tried to break through the melee. He managed to kick someone to the wall, but the awaiting fighter made him tumble down the stairs. "This isn't good." Kou said as he rubbed his aching head. "They weren't after me." Volt added as he witnessed the terror. As the ninjas regrouped, the leader kept grabbing her by the neck while she struggled to break free, then he crashed through the window and the minions followed suit. "Sion!" The bouncers could barely hear her screeching in the quiet night. As everything grew silent, they saw the damage, and Dominique was gone. In anger, Sion slammed his fist against the stairwell. And to Ayame, so was the Dragon Ball. She tried to emerge, but the lid was frozen shut. As she struggled, she could almost make out what the trio were saying, thanks to the broken window. "Who were they?" Sion queried as he looked out. "They were from Mikado..." Volt responded. Sion was surprised at what he revealed. Kou, on the other hand, wasn't too impressed. "Humph, you're awfully well-informed." He folded his arms in displeasure. Sion turned to the gang and declared, "Let's go to Mikado." "Whoa, hang on." Kou intervened with a wave. "I've got connections. Let me look into this first." As he was walking away, he took out a yellow cellular phone from his pocket and dialed a number. Seconds later, it picked up. "I need you to check on something for me. Yeah, I need to get into Mikado fast." An irritated female voice answered. "No...Don't tell me the target's been..?" "Look, I'm in a hurry." "I can't believe you let this happen. Hold on, I'm checking in now." "Yeah, thanks." Kou shifted it to his left hand. "There's a special MSD cargo train leaving the central station." "Great. What time?" "In thirty minutes." "Gotcha. We're taking off now." "I'll be there to back you up at the Orage." "Thanks, I owe you one." He turned to the group and delivered the message. "There's a special train at the central station that's headed for Mikado." "When?" "In half an hour." "Let's go then. We don't have much time." Sion immediately stormed downstairs like a speeding bullet. Even the two older men were surprised by his determination. "Looks like he's got a heart after all. Especially when it comes to her." Volt commented. "Heh, no kidding." Kou responded with a shrug. They soon followed him outside, despite the continuing flurry. Meanwhile, Ayame decided to use her extra strength to lift off the lid, but instead... It toppled and laid on its left side! The top swung open upon impact and Ayame crawled out slowly as she was coughing from the intense odor. The brisk air helped a little, yet her nostrils were burning. "Ewww! I can't believe this has happened to me." she said in utter disgust. She brushed off her uniform. And looked at the radar, still intact. She took a deep breath, and the cool air extended her lungs. Renewed, she was more devoted than ever. "I have to get that Dragon Ball, and save that girl if I have to." She scraped her sneakers on the pavement, removing any excess filth. Her voice softened. "I have to be careful so those bouncers won't notice me. I don't want them involved in this, and I can't get in their way. I don't even know these guys." She shook her head to clear the cobwebs. "No matter. Bulma wants me to get that Dragon Ball, and that's what I'll do!" She donned on her cap and she ran out of the alleyway, following the locator on where she needs to go next. A/N: This story had a couple working titles, such as "Dragon Ball: Bouncer", and "The Hunt for the Damsel and the Dragon Ball." Eventually, after several years, I finally came up with a more decent name, "The Mikado Saga." Eventually, you'll see why soon enough. Believe it or not, it's been 15 years since I first played it, it's a very nostalgic favorite of mine. Yes, it is kind of flawed 'cause of obvious reasons, like awkward camera angles, no response time, clunky controls, and the infamous escort mission coming up. Nevertheless, I consider it a classic, and it was a breakthrough for the PS2's aesthetics. Btw, the name Ayame is a Japanese name meaning iris. Also, I always loved Sion Barzahd, even though he has a close resemblance to Sora from Kingdom Hearts. Aside from that, this is where the fun begins, as he goes on a salvage mission to rescue Dominique, while Ayame has her own searching for her with the missing Dragon Ball in her possession. I hope the first chapter will be up shortly. Until then, Ikran Rider out!

    Couples in my Fanfics

This idea was actually inspired by Fanfictiondreamer. As she does despise shipping, when fans only look at one official pairing and defend it with their lives, even if someone would disagree with them as like a sin to their ship. Heck, there's even this trope, Die for your Ship, for a reason; a lot of them are like immature and pick the most awkward couples ever, even when involving multiple universes. Even worse still, some people would go as far and as sick as a three-way relationship or harems. With my couples and hers, however, they seem to make the most sense. She had explained her reasonable choices for her own couples in her stories, to which I can support. So, here are some of mine: LinkxZelda II (Ocarina of Time/Pokémon) Here's the link No. Not the princess, my OC. The foreign Trainer that came to Hyrule unawares. I do support the other choices like Malon and Zelda, and I had seen awkwardness (like Dark Link, Navi, Saria, and Ruto) and in worse cases, Namira in the Gerudo Seduction Dance. But, out of all the crazy choices out there, I stuck w/ the Hylian and the Trainer. At first, I was never sure if I wanted to go thru w/ this or not, so I asked others for help. But, only one user, from DeviantArt, came to my defense. While I do think Link should be with Zelda, as my mind accepted it at first, I later decided things won't work out this way. I had been in an internal conflict since then, but I realized something. Zelda II was more involved than the monarch was, and at least SHE doesn't give him the cold shoulder going back 7 years. She has met him as a kid soon after he retrieved Navi, his guardian fairy. And they had been travelling together ever since. She and her Pokémon were great comrades as they assisted them however they could, even though Zelda II technically works in the sidelines as she's no good at fighting but commands her troops like any Trainer would. But, once they slept for seven years, and as they entered into adulthood, things began to change. As Sheik said once, a friendship can grow overtime and form a strong bond and through it, he'll know which way to go. He also said that young love can evolve into deep affection, and throughout their more tumultuous adventures, well...let's just say that Zelda II developed a crush on Link. They shared some strong feelings with one another, such as coping with their losses and always being there for one another, even though they had to function separately at times, like when Link was comatose by the shadow beast or when Zelda II went gravely ill. Regardless, she had developed a strong relationship, even when she defended him from Ruto and Nabooru, saying he's "already been taken." At first he was more mutually involved with the princess, but when they observed Zelda II's heart being ripped out, she eventually remembered all those times as Sheik, as reminders on how much closer they'd be. So, eventually, since Link couldn't make up his mind, she decided that Zelda II was the better choice, on account that she's Hyrule's only living royal and she'd be too busy running the kingdom with her guardian, Impa, even while it's been under reconstruction. After all, Link, Zelda II, and her comrades had been chosen as portions of the new Royal Guard. And because she had seen their fantastic camaraderie, as well as sharing courage with one another, and remembering herself as Sheik guiding and observing their close actions, it was official. She wasn't the least bit upset about it either. And needless to say, Zelda II was the right candidate for Link as they admired and aspired each other so much. Ichabod CranexLara Thomas (Sleepy Hollow) Here's the link Ever since I wrote the Missing Episodes, I'd decided for the Witnesses from two different time paradoxes be a couple. Aside from JakexAlex, as well as another one later, they seem to be the perfect fit. Sure, many fans always wanted Ichabbie as an official ship, unfortunately, Abbie died after her soul was sealed in Pandora's Box, and she went on as an eternal soul when she chose the 10-year old, Molly. Then, her dystopian future vessel, Lara, complicated matters, and fans absolutely hated it! Well, I didn't. And I certainly got pissed off on how Katrina, Betsy, and/or Zoe turned out! I always saw the Witnesses as functioning like the artery and ventricle of a heart, as indicated in the fourth chapter. Heck, she and Ichabod had their souls merged and functioned in tandem with one another, like sharing one body and mind, almost like a Battle Bond in Pokémon. Though if one should receive injury, so would the other; however, as the apocalypse and Tribulations were nigh, Ichabod and Lara began to fall for one another. This was clearly evident when she supported him through his nightmare of the Horseman of Death challenging him to a brutal duel, which soon resulted his soul to be damned upon his death by the Horseman of War. Since the team's journey through Hell to retrieve Ichabod's soul, Lara's determination and devotion for him rubbed onto them, even during the direst of times. It was official when Lara forgave Ichabod as he lamented over his blame on starting the apocalypse and letting Lucifer escape. She has also lived thru a ruined life with Dreyfuss, and they were both Witnesses from different time paradoxes (one past, one future) then reunited in the present, when the two collided. Their bond was so deep, that their destinies intertwined, much like their souls and even their bodies. Having Abbie's death was an ideal opportunity for Ichabod, Lara, and their friends to expand their horizons to Washington and beyond. And while it was excruciating, it still gave the chance for the kid, and soon the future Witness, to change their lives for a better future for all. Added to this, Lara's been classified as Molly's lost aunt as well as her personal tutor. Jenny MillsxGavin Lucas (Sleepy Hollow) Gavin is autistic, amongst other mental illnesses, so he never had a good grasp on love, nor had any interest on falling for another. As it was indicated when he fought off the Heartless/Lilith and resisted her sensual charm. He stated that finding friends was bad enough for him, until after he was electrocuted by his thrown Taser against the Kraken/siren hybrid. Jenny was there for him as she resuscitated him, got him out of the Underworld and a pursuing Hellhound, and whispered to him that she has deep feelings for him. At first, he thought it was another rebound, counting Hawley and Joe, and he was very hesitant since he's not like her other partners. It didn't matter that much to her, as he'd always been there for her in the most darkest times, from dealing with Frank and his infected soul, to his amazing chivalry, and trying to support each other indirectly after Abbie and Joe's passing. Till the both packed up and went to DC. Remembering all the heroism Gavin displayed, Jenny couldn't resist her feelings any longer; it started when she gave him a kiss while he was recovering from the shock. Then, their hearts intertwined on the Diafol Galon's/Heart Devil's curse. And finally Joe's death, and her foolishness falling for Hawley after experiencing his treachery and deaths twice. Their relationship was close, and Gavin was no longer afraid of intimacy either, as sensitive as he is. Heck, it never faltered even when they officially became Future Witnesses after Ichabod and Lara decreed them. And I'm certainly not going to have Sam Winchester complicate matters since I despise Supernatural! Yes, they may have some similar capabilities, but I'm never going to let the oversaturated series take advantage of the idea! Rick Wheeler/Ryu SuzakuxTinsel Steelus (F-Zero) Here's the link I was very hesitant on having them as an official couple for F-Zero, but I had my reasons. As I was writing Ending it All, I saw most of the Japanese anime for inspiration. But the nail in the coffin was around Lap 43, when Haruka finally broke out of Black Shadow's thrall. She regained her memories and her senses, as Rick attempted to save her and she reminisced on reaching for his offered hand 150 years. Unfortunately, I threw in the towel, once I saw her beat Rick and act as a lackey to Dark Million still. Besides, it was too late since she snapped out of it when the series was nearing its completion. So, while I was developing stories for F-Zero, as well as the aforementioned Ending it All, and because I love Rick so much, there was nothing holding me back. Tinsel had an infatuation with Rick since they first met in The Samurai Returns, and he was her inspiration since then. She always cared about him, even if he should be caught in a bind due to his recklessness. She wanted to fall for Rick and heal his inner wounds while he lamented over his losses, even Haruka. Heck, she saved his life giving him resuscitation after he succumbed to a spell made by The Skull. Even Jody and Dr. Stewart observed this, yet she was too afraid to share her feelings, as it'll hurt Rick even more. It wasn't until Rick saw Haruka in the afterlife after he was inserted the formula reversing Dark Million's thrall. She said that Tinsel needs him, and he should do the same; all she wanted was to make Rick happy and live on with his life while also defeat Black Shadow so her spirit can finally find peace. As Tinsel was recovering from her Booster Fire, they shared a deep, passionate kiss. And when she was in Dark Star, she confessed her true feelings after he made the sadistic choice to save her life and sacrifice Miss Killer's. Then, they soon became engaged, then married overtime. It was just like Tinsel soothing Rick's hotheadedness, and him thawing the ice around her heart; they're a perfect match. Terri ThatcherxJohn Myers (Fantastic 4) Not much was said, but ever since Terri met John Myers as she was settling in New York, there were some clues when they were becoming a couple. They each shared their hardships with one another, even if it's over Italian food; from when Liz became Hellboy's official flame, and his shift to hid freelance position in the FBI, to her self-rejection from the Fantastic 4 and later their temporary separation, Myers and Terri were always devoted to each other. At first she denied she fell for him, when Johnny kept teasing her that Myers was her boyfriend, but she accepted it after a few years. Since then, he has been an indirect ally to the quintet on occasion. AkarixEnzo Matrix (ReBoot) Not the Enzo Matrix which grown quickly in Game Cubes, but rather the second little Sprite who was accidentally restored by the User. It was pretty much a long-distance relationship, once Enzo attended the Guardian Academy at the top of his class, while Megabyte and Gnosis were wreaking havoc, and Akari just returned to Mainframe with her teams from Hoenn to Kalos. It was official when they decided to trade formats, as Guardians and Trainers, after the Net was saved by Bob being the Codemaster as well as his new ally, Expy. They were around the same age once they'd decided to be together, whether it'd be inside the defective computer from New Island, or outside. At first I wanted Samus Aran to be Bob's personal flame, not Dot. But I later decided to accept it as such, since she's an interstellar bounty hunter and is always on the run under the command of her CO, Adam Malkovich, while occasionally participate in Smash tourneys to hone her skills. Disregarding that Dot falls for the "original" Bob and discards the "real" one. Lucy LibertyxLeon (F-Zero) Here's the link Yes, it was portrayed for a short while during Lap 27 in the Japanese anime, but having him being hunted by Beastman while also having him be as a werewolf was a TERRIBLE idea!! So, in Ending it All, I decided to have Leon as his normal, cute, coyote-like self and date with Lucy, whilst still being as a busboy for the Falcon House. It was a strange scenario, as a female human falls for an anthropomorphic, but he did become an official member in the Elite Mobile Task Force by the end of the story, and had been dating with Lucy since then. As weird as it was, I figured it was still a good choice for them both. Ryan SteelexLing Yu (VR Troopers) Here's the link As hard as it was, I actually wanted Ryan to have someone else, and have Kaitlin hook up with J.B. instead. Due to the stock footage used in the series, it often shows Ryan in his lonesome, while Kaitlin and J.B. take the sidelines together, both in virtual reality and out. Because of the circumstances, I decided to make an OC that'll fit Ryan's needs, just after Grimlord was finally defeated at the end of the Virtual War. Ling took Ryan in when she found him unconscious outside her temple. She nursed him back to health, and their relationship blossomed, mostly due to the Florence Nightingale Effect. Their relationship was strong, though, as she grew fascinated with Ryan's tech gadgets, his affection and fighting style, his friends, and his dog. Heck, they even have two kids together, Taylor and Suri. As the other Troopers moved away, both Ryan and Ling advanced Tao's Dojo as a place set for all martial arts, even her specialty, Tae Kwon Do. His father said he must always follow his heart, even though he seems to be in doubt. The other Troopers had accepted it instantly, as Kaitlin was often unsure whom to date with on account of Grimlord's interference. Nevertheless, it was decided, and even their son carried the mantle along with Kaitlin and J.B.'s other children, including Chita herself. Other pairings I support are Fox and Misty, Jody and Dr. Stewart, Luna Stewart and Jack Levin (pairing made by a friend of mine), Spike and Julia, and Samurai Goroh and Lisa Brilliant. I'm on the fence whether I should either support Sion Barzahd and Dominique Cross or SionxAyame. Ratchet and Kim Possible is, eh.

How My Fanfics/Artwork Come to Be

I was watching James Cameron's Avatar a long time ago, and something seemed to be bothering me whenever I see it. I noticed that some of the things I love don't really leave quite an impact like so many other things do; why was this the case? With Avatar, it inspired me with my own screenname, TheIkranRider, but while it's one of my all-time favorite movies, how come it never drove me for any ideas? I pondered about this, and then I remembered something from TV Tropes, Fanfic Fuel. Basically, it's something that catches a creator's eye, or gaps he/she feels that need to be filled, whether it'd be for character development or plot points. This is usually how my ideas come into being, like as Morpheus said as he described in the Matrix, "Like a splinter in your mind. Driving you mad." And that's what that prick does, literally, no matter what it could be. It'll just pull and nag and it would never go away, unless if I were to do something about it. Hence, my fanfics, rants, digital art, etc. No matter how old or admittedly how worse the material is. A few examples could be if there's a song that reminds me of the said work in a strange way, or just something missing in the story, or if I just don't like the end result, or heck even when a series gets canned since there are so many potholes to fill on its road to fulfillment. Or perhaps something I'd get involved with during a personal conflict would give me comfort, albeit temporarily. Maybe I just want an underrated series to be more exciting and give them more attention, like introduce a new character and immerse myself more into the source material, to change whatever needs to be improved, or if it's just a random idea that somehow fits. Another way is to show my own unique perception of a character/event/etc. That there's a way to develop the series better than some lazy writers never had in mind. With Avatar, though...nothing. Excepting maybe a few references here and there, I guess it was just perfect from start to finish; there was nothing that seemed to be wrong with it, and I was completely satisfied with what the film had to offer. It was just ironclad flawless, no matter what the element; I do love Ikrans, after all, hence my namesake, LOL! Perhaps that's why I never had an incident in certain works such as maybe Rocky, X-Men, Star Trek, Big Trouble in Little China, Sucker Punch, etc. or if it's something I'm just neutral towards; as the shoes were already full, there were hardly any gaps, or unless I don't like something that's when I get these pricks/ticks and need to let my thoughts flow, like a levee beginning to break, or a volcano releasing the pressure. I just needed an outlet for these things, otherwise I'd be completely overwhelmed by it, or even when it's partially finished, like how Fanfictiondreamer and I describe our own Showitious. It's just like how the old saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. And hell, unlike those greedy people at Disney, I have a story to tell, and I don't want to change anything that's already perfect since there's virtually nothing to improve nor expand upon! They're just flawless the way they are! I suppose other artists have felt the same ways as I have, even Fanfictiondreamer. I hope I am right on this. The mind is kind of mysterious on how it works, and it is absolutely a terrible thing to waste, as our own potential and feelings.

    My Cowboy Bebop sessions

Another sci-fi classic I grew fond of was the anime, Cowboy Bebop. When I was 25, I've made this post-epilogue crossover with Pokémon and Mega Man X. It may not be Starfox-related, but it does have some properties from Nintendo later on, and it is a sci-fi work. So, hopefully, you guys will enjoy this. And also have a little Biker Mice as well. A/N: Hello, fellow readers. I have finally written the long-awaited x-over for Cowboy Bebop. This takes place just after the final episode; and if you haven't seen the series finale, I suggest you either leave immediately or look it up. Because there are some slight spoilers here. For now, this is just the prologue, an intro of what's yet to come. There will be more action and drama later on. But until then, witness this tragic event. Prologue - The Death of Spike Spiegel "Bang." Those were the last words Spike said, as he pointed his thumb and finger like a gun toward the Syndicate. His battered body fell onto the main staircase which was covered in a blinding white light. The black-suited gunmen were standing like a bunch of statues; they didn't even notice Trudy who hurriedly shoved them out of her way. She watched as he muttered his final word, during his final breath of life. "Nooo!" Trudy ran to his side and sat with a hard thud next to him. She felt that her heart had rushed to her throat. Her face grew pale and clammy, and she felt like she was breathing in several ice shards. But she didn't care. She still examined the body with complete panic. She thought that Spike, the one she looked up to as a brother, who taught her how to find the inner strength she thought she never had, would never be seen again. She truly idolized him aside from his laziness, cockiness, or his habitual drinking. That was then, this was now. Spike was gone, but she kept refusing to believe it. Trudy kept calling his name as she shook his body awake. No response. There wasn't even a pulse, a heartbeat, or a single breath. His body was completely motionless, and she saw a small grin on his placid face. That was when she finally realized that Spike had reunited with his lost love, Julia; his mentor, Mao Yenrai; and his friends Shin and Annie, in the afterlife. After those constant onslaughts by the Red Dragons, and the shootout in Tharsis, he at last defeated his nemesis, Vicious. Trudy knew that at that moment, Spike was resting in peace, and was never to return. First the departures from Edward and Ein...and now this?! she thought. There was nothing for her to do. Her face turned red as a ripe tomato as she gazed upon him. And rivers of tears flowed and stung her cheeks like hornet stings. She managed to lift his heavy head and rest it on her lap. She moved his oily strands of hair from his face. She only had enough of her sanity to whimper, "S-s...Spike!" Trudy collapsed and hugged Spike's face against her quaking body. Her world had stopped and began to grow dim as she mourned. She didn't even notice the snipers carry Spike's body away. Her grip was remarkably weak. Her mind went blank, and all she kept thinking of was Spike's last moments. And wondered how would she explain this to the remaining, surviving members, Jet and Faye. A/N: When I first saw Spike Spiegel pass away, I felt that my whole world screeched to a halt. I was in tears when I saw his death, along with the events foreshadowing it. Especially the sudden loss of Julia. My OC, Trudy, really idolized him in every way, ever since she first met him after she became a member of the Bebop crew. I haven't written a fic about her origins yet. Hopefully I'll have it ready while I keep working on this one. A recessional, for the Red Dragons, does mean a hymn or piece of music at the conclusion of a program, like say a concert. And since several episode titles have a reference to music, I find this to be fitting. So stay tuned for the next chapter, where the events take shape. Disclaimer: Before I start, I do NOT own Bebop, nor the crossover that's coming up. Get ready for a wild ride in this chapter! Chapter 1 - The Nightmare Begins The Bebop was drifting slowly through deep space on auto-pilot, just a few light years from Mars. Much like the outside, the interior was all dark and quiet. It was now in hyper sleep. And ever since Trudy summoned enough courage to tell the two crewmembers of Spike's fate, they had quite a hard time trying to catch some z's. They were shocked and devastated after hearing the news, but Faye took it far harder than Jet. Eventually the pressure lulled them to sleep, even Trudy who dosed at around 2:30 am. She was twisting and turning every which way, and her body felt bone-cold. Not even her thick, green comforter managed to keep her warm. This type of feeling reminded her of whenever she sensed Vicious around. She thought to herself if it was him again...or something more sinister is at foot. She was actually having a night terror taking place in a secluded, dark chamber. In it, the same Red Dragons she saw at Tharsis were there. Up ahead at the center of a back wall was an enormous throne. A strong beam of light was shining on it. It was decorated with all sorts of exotic jewels, and in the middle was a crimson carpet with a menacing dragon etched on it. Sitting on the elaborate chair was an elderly man with his eyes shut. He was wearing a long, thick robe with a lot of symbols Trudy couldn't describe. Apparently, this could be the Red Dragons' new leader? Two elites carried the lifeless Spike on their shoulders and brought him in front of their master. Their opaque shoes sounded like bullets as they walked. "We have come, Master... We brought the rogue, Spike, to you, as you instructed." One of them said in a gruff tone. The old man woke up, his eyes gleamed. "Excellent. Then let the ritual begin." The two men nodded, and a cot was wheeled toward the center. They walked Spike forward and dropped him to it. His body hit it with a deafening bang, his arms drooped from each side. Then, there were some distant drums, beating softly and steadily. Some incantations were made; Trudy couldn't quite understand them. A sniper took out a syringe and drew it into Vicious' corpse, resting on a platform. The blood filled it up rapidly, and by the time he sent it to Spike, the drums and the chants became faster and louder. He struck the needle into Spike's upper side of his neck and inserted. When it emptied, the syringe was removed and everything became silent. Next, his body began to tremble, his eyes fluttered, and he started to breathe...but very heavy. After that he started to convulse, as if he was having a seizure. Then, after what seemed like forever, his body slumped against the cot and remained very still. The elder rose from his perch and walked slowly toward him. He leaned in, laid a hand on the injection site, and whispered in his ear, "Spike Spiegel, your resurrection is complete. You've come back from the dead for one purpose, to serve the Red Dragons once more. Now, arise, great warrior! You shall be reunited with your brethren. Come out from the ashes. And to rise again! Join us." He backed away and watched Spike stir. Then, with an aggressive look, his eyes shot open. Trudy shot up with a cold sweat. She took in deep, rushed breaths to calm herself. She couldn't believe what she saw. Is Spike truly alive? Is he really working for the Red Dragons again?...What if he forgets us? Her anxieties were taking the best of her. She couldn't possibly answer these questions alone and so frantic. She then thought about her good friend, Mary. She was a Pokémon Champion from the Kanto region on Earth, Trudy's home planet. In times of great sorrow and grief, she was the one to count on. Without a second thought, Trudy immediately grabbed her tablet. She turned it on and a map of the entire galaxy was displayed. When she touched Earth, the screen zoomed in and showed vital stats of the planet. Due to Mars having a great distance, the timeline was different; by approximately two days and an hour. She zoomed in closer 'til she saw Kanto, which was a country fitting the northeastern quarter of the continent. She touched 'Pallet Town' on the screen and Mary's number showed up. Before she dialed it, the tablet gave off a ring and a buffering sign. Mary was calling instead. She tapped the screen and hesitated. "...Hello?" A female voice was heard. "Hello, Trudy. Do you know who this is?" Trudy's eyes widened. "Mary!" she whispered with astonishment. "Yes." From the screen, a twenty-three year old with shoulder length dark brown hair, a grey cap with a red outline of a Poké Ball, and wearing a sky blue T was shown. Her face looked serious and she looked close to being Trudy's age. Her face grew somber when she spoke, "I'm very sorry for your loss. I sent you some PM's but you weren't available. Are you feeling alright?" "Well...not really. Listen I had this dream, right?" Trudy described to her friend what was happening and her fears of Spike turning over to the Red Dragons. "I'm worried, Mary. I'm not sure what to say to Jet and Faye. She might believe me, but it's unlikely that Jet would, considering he was an ISSP officer. He wouldn't believe me. After all...dreams" "Fantastical. Nothing more than random acts of the subconscious mind." "Exactly." Without any kind of proof, it's almost impossible for Jet to be convinced. And because of the news of Spike's death, he decided to go to Earth and drop off Faye and Trudy there. In other words, where they belonged. Of course, Faye's home had been devastated by a sudden meteor, where the only thing left was a running fountain coming from an open lion's mouth, and Trudy never wanted to go back to the slums. As if reading her mind, Mary said, "Look, I found out that you're heading back to Earth. If you need a place to stay I'll be-" "N-no. It's fine. I just need to find someway to convince them that something's going on. But I need to find some clues." "You said that this all happened at the Red Dragons' hideout, at Tharsis. You should start looking there. There may be some kind of connection to what you...saw." Trudy was quite sure it was a vision of some kind; it was way too real to be labeled as a dream. "Alright, I'll tell them that." "You gotta do it, Trudy. Otherwise, you'll never find the answers. We're all with you!" she exclaimed, and a chorus of cheers followed. With a small smile, she rose her head and remarked. "Ok, I'll do it! Jet and Faye just has to believe me. I'm their only source of information here." "Go then...until the hyper sleep wears off. Do not be afraid, and do not hesitate. You may rehearse your speech if you want to. Officers..." Mary shook her head and snapped her tongue against her teeth. "...they can be quite stubborn. Ball's in your court." Trudy nodded. "Thanks for the encouragement, Mary. I appreciate it. I'll let you know how it turned out." "Sure, I'll see you then." The screen switched back to the Kanto map as she ended the call. Trudy took some deep breaths to clear her head, she was very nervous. Whatever happens, happens, Spike said in her mind. The hyper sleep was still active, but she was much more awake and alert. She looked over and read her digital clock. It was 4:01. She kept herself busy reciting her dialogue. Then again if she were to head to Earth, it wouldn't be too much of a problem if she were to bring Mary and her other cousins. She was the oldest and the most experienced out of all of them. Starting at the age of 13 and obtaining her Bulbasaur, Seedy, Mary began her journey. By the time she completed, she became the Kanto League Champion, and thwarted its crime squad, Team Rocket. Her other younger cousins wanted to follow suit. From various other regions, they also went on to become expert Trainers, as well as continue her budding legacy. Trudy looked over each of her comrades. By the time she was done, it was a few minutes to eight. By then, the Bebop, even though there's not a lot of ruckus, would wake up. She'd gotten dressed, looked into the small, octagon mirror, and breathed in deep. They'll have to believe me. If not, I can still convince them to come with me at Tharsis; there's bound to be some clues of that vision I had. Her face turned stern. We must stop the Red Dragon Syndicate at all costs...especially for Spike. A/N: Hope you all liked it. Also, I'd love to give special thanks to my collaborators, pikaace & space cowboy-656. You two are awesome! Unfortunately, only pikaace has an account here. Because of that, and with her permission, I decided to throw in a little bio from her first original character, Mary. As you would see, she did start her Pokémon journey when she was a teenager and became the Champion shortly afterwards. She has a great team, and as mentioned in the fic, she does have a diverse family who all want to carry out her legacy. However, that was only one of her allies I've mentioned Trudy will use, the rest will have to come later. Also, the dream sequence was roughly based off of the concepts from Jurassic Park and the Temple of Doom. Talk about wild, eh! But that's only the beginning. Be prepared for the next chapter when Trudy begs for Faye and especially, Jet, that Spike has been resurrected. See you then.
  8. Long ago, there were two worlds, the Above and the Below...but you know already this fragmented story. Of how the Gods came to be, the fate of the ancient dragons, the birth of the Dark Soul and progenitor of man... But what of the story of the one who truly matters, the wayward Hollow. Whether the Chosen Undead, Bearer of the Curse, the Champion of Ash or a random pawn of fate...who has told their story? Dark Souls: The Anthology Series (This anthology series will feature a new short story with new characters with each installment)
  9. The Author's First Thoughts When writing I ask myself the question of whether or not this story needs to be told. Its a weird question coming from a writer but one that must be asked none the less. In reply the answer is yet another question, "Why must this story be told?" Truthfully I really don't know, even though this question is really directed towards me. Why do I feel this necessity, what is the hard bound reason behind the creation? Honestly I'm at a loss. Maybe its because of recent world events, that I am afraid of inevitable outcomes and trying to make sense of these things through fiction gives me the courage to continue. Perhaps this is why. ---- "Wars are poor chisels for carving out peaceful tomorrows." - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Starfox: Fall of Lylat II Before the Dawn Chapter 1: Sunset Rising "Is it agreed?" A group of canines and vulpines had gathered about a wide makeshift table of crates and chrome paneling in a 20 by 50 room filled with more crates covered in tarps. There was a lot of staring and folding of the arms. Not the sort of bunch to reckon with in a dark, rainy alley. The foremost of them stood waiting for a reply to his question, his face scanning about to the other around the table. "We all must decide unanimously tonight if we are to go through with this at all." A hound stood up from his seated position. "Are you sure this is the way?" "He assured me that it is the only way. For too long we have been subjected to the lies. Our pleads go unanswered. What else is there that we have not tried?" He stared deeply into all those present, "This is the only way and history will decide if we were fortunate to be in the right." The rest stood in unison and applauded with great rejoicing, all but the hound before had showed his support but not his convection. He stared with sorrow at their leader who was shaking hands with other supporters as their eyes met. They both knew but only one was in agony. --- Fortunan Orbit... "Idris 7 on final approach, preparing for trap landing." "Idris 7, you are cleared for landing on runway 1 and welcome aboard." The traffic of cargo transports is a little more than a coordinated dance of large craft carrying thousands of tons of fuel. But when compared to space faring juggernauts such as carriers they are minuscule to say the least. Among these titans of steel is the Madeline. A dreadnought in her time, now a relic of a violent era when she was needed most. Now the old girl is to be laid to rest with hopes of being a war museum where the "Lady Mad" would continue in hearts and minds as an example for the Cornerian Defense Force. In his cabin, Commander Agathol had already awoken to reveille. He had a knack for waking up long before the alarm went off, even if he didn't have the luxury of a snooze button. The PA sounded with the familiar voice of Lieutenant Din Yana. "Reveille, reveille, all hands reveille. Report to assigned stations." Just than another familiar voice and sight came to the Commander's cabin. A knock at the door, always five seconds after reveille sounded. "Come." The Commander said. Ensign Matthew Finley had been the Commanders aid bringing him coffee and breakfast every morning for two years. Never late, never early. Always on time. "Good morning sir." "Morning Finley. Whats on the menu today?" "More of the same sir. The galley hasn't been the same Chef took ill." "Eggs and hash, again. Why do they look the same this time?" "It would be a miracle to tell them apart at all." The XO, Colonel Freemen walked in. "I saw the door open, thought I'd stop by." "If I'm not needed sir..." "Go Finley, eat your egghash too before it gets cold." Agathol said chuckling. Colonel Freemen watched as the Ensign left through the cabin door and turn to Agathol. "You know one of these days, the CDF brass is gonna catch on to how you run this joint." "What are we doing thats lax? We observe protocol, have a set number of guidelines and on top of that this ship is getting decommissioned. Time to live a little and stop being so uptight. We'll get back to civilian life and or sign back up depending on who we are." "Chis, commanding this ship is a privilege. You should at least see through the eyes of others. Shes seen the Lylat War and rallied to Corneria's defense in the bleakest of times. But somehow, you look as if you miss it." "I've had enough share of war as have you. But I'm not gonna parade around saying I made a difference when I truly didn't. I'm not trying to forget. Still it was nice when we had something to do." "Well, we'll get our chance soon enough. Eight months isn't too long from now." "Yeah. You gonna eat this?" "Not any more and I'll thank the day Chef gets better." Engineering... Despite being an old ship, Madeline still had ways of ensuring her crew with means to occupy their time. No one onboard is more intune with the supercarrier than the Katinian coyote Engineer Chief Martin Poscon. Almost a hobby, Martin clearly enjoys being around the Lady Mad's thruster assembly and anywhere else that needs tightening or recalibrating. Today was more of the same for the Chief as well. He walked down a catwalk assessing new reports on the ships interior workings with crewmen Vergiff Kasteele. "An EPS bypass bus burns out and no one tells me?" "Sorry Chief , we were locking down a leak in the plasma conductors when we got this." "Secondary systems?" "They activated just as they were supposed to." "Might be feedback from the sub-relay." "Sir, half these units need to be replaced. Patch jobs just won't do it. The Lady Mad hasn't been the same since the Aparoids invaded." "When the ol' girl gets decommissioned she won't need most of them anyway. They're mainly are just for weapons. Don't worry about it." The PA sounded. "Chief Poscon, report to deck 12 section B." "Ah, must be the support frames again. Vergiff, go check the bus and make sure its offline this time." Corneria, Durin province, interstate highway... "I'm confused, run that by me again." A few members of President Andsa's cabinet were seated in a limousine discussing current topics presently on the minds of voters, while on-route to the President's address to the senate. "Okay, are you paying attention this time? 300 hundred years ago, the government at that time disbanded much of the organized military in favor of a simple set up where General staff controlled the fleet and army simultaneously. Got that? "Yeah, but how is that simple? Wouldn't it be better to have the Admiralty continue to be in control of the star navy?" Another member butted in. "Because to them it seemed like lasting peace was around the corner, which when you study history a little further..." "Yeah, yeah, little regional conflicts here and there, I know. That still doesn't answer my question: Why are we now reverting back to the old standard? General Pepper showed that the system worked." "Thats different, General Pepper was a noble and wise leader in a time of chaos. Now that governmental ruling parties have reformed there is just no need for this type of system and restoring full control to the Admiralty seems like the next necessary step. That would be too much power for one person." "Hey wheres Norin?" "Hes got the flu, he can't make it to see the President's speech." Norin Rabbik the Secretary of Agriculture, born in Delphine a seaside town off the Aquantica coast. Had a dream of making it big in politics one day but never thought he'd land a spot in the Pearl Manor in the President's cabinet. Even though Corneria is a green world, no seems keenly interested in agriculture which doesn't help Norin and his obscurity. Still he does his job well despite often times being overlooked by his contemporaries. CDF Station codename Onyx, Near Katina... Onyx Station, a hub of activity, a city in space. Here vessels exhausted from exploration or routine patrols come to refuel, as freighters and liners from all of Lylat either dock to offload supplies or continue on their route while protected from pirates. But here reside the true guardians of Lylat, the ones who keep it safe from threat of invasion. "And, all reds! Haha!!" "Dammit Kaylee, I do not want to play cards with you ever again if continue this winning streak." In the pilot's lounge, the CAG and his wings relaxed playing poker and swapping tales. "Wanna play a hand, Captain?" "With Kaylee's luck, Dirk I don't have a chance." Lt. Dirk Kelso, second in command of Banshee Squadron extended a glass to his CO and best friend Capt. Saul Govorian. "Come on at least drink with us. Just a little." he said pinching his fingers. "Well it is Saluting Day after all, the Twentieth anniversary of the end of the Lylat War. Why not." "Yeah!!! Come on, cap!!!" Yells Kaylee. Somewhere in space... "Now that we are in full agreement, we can finally move forward." "Jalkin you know I would do anything for you, take a bullet even, but this is too much me." "I can't trust anyone else Geortin. Its you, its got to be. Please my brother there is no one else. If I could change places with you I would. But my place is here." Jalkin hands Geortin a briefcase. "I-I understand." said Geortin who than left towards an airlock where a shuttle was waiting, which left as soon as he boarded. Jalkin then toggle a comlink. "Taskforce one, is everything ready?" A reply came swiftly. "Yes sir, we are on route as we speak." "Proceed as planned, package is being delivered." "understood, standing by. "

    A Fighter by His Trade

So this is a fic about my character, Jack. While it is an OC fic, there are cameos from canon characters, so there's that. I just really wanted to tell this story. Thanks for reading, and don't forget to comment and give your opinion of the story thus far! I value any and all constructive criticism. Story Description: On the eve of his championship fight, Jack Darcy reflects on the wild journey that led him to the boxing ring. Tracing his steps from soldier to war hero to discharged veteran and remembering friends made and lost along the way, he is now faced with a simple question he cannot answer: What's next? This is an M rated fic due to swearing and violence. -------------------------------------------------- Those moments right before a match are always the most nerve wracking. The silence of the locker room is filled with a flurry of thoughts lingering in the air around me. I feel my self-doubt rise to slow my stride, so I fill the void by focusing on preparation. I stretch everything. I move around. I throw punches, anything and everything to warm up and stay warmed up. Gerard helps to rub me down. I still try to crack a joke now and then about how he should take me out to dinner first. Sure, it’s immature and a painfully old joke, but we still laugh. It makes a grown man rubbing Vaseline into my chest and shoulders less awkward for me as well. We keep things loose and casual. Dramatic pep talks are for movies, and they just psyche me out. My manager, Johnny, walks in to check up on me and wish me luck. The stocky blue nose pit bull looks like he should be the one getting into the ring, and I should be in the pressed suit wishing him a good fight. He reminds me this fight is being recorded live and to just focus on my job. It’s not my first time in front of a camera, but I’ve never been recorded while doing my job. I try not to think about it as Gerard re-centers my focus. The gray-spotted rat weaves with me in a bout of shadowboxing, helping me to stay in the zone. Before I know it, the referee is coming in and giving us the standard “rules of the game” spiel, and Gerard is taping and gloving my hands. It’s time to go. I pull off my sweats, relieved that the uncomfortable heat is alleviated, don the silken violet and gold robe that bears my family name, Darcy, pull the hood so it drapes over my blunt white snout and walk out with Gerard. The din of the crowd erupts into wild cheering as the announcer cries out for Jack Darcy. I hear only the beat of my own heart reverberating in my ears as I make the walk out to the ring. My fans cheer my name over the musical fanfare that precedes me. As I make my way through with Gerard, it still amazes me how far I’ve come. I feel like I’m marching out to the warzone again, off to fight off the Venomians or the Aparoids. I feel the casing of my prosthetic press against my knee as I walk up the steps and duck through the ropes. It’s almost time. The arena darkens, and a video montage displays on the monitors, glorifying my opponent. I only vaguely hear the excited speech. My mind, despite the focus I fought to maintain, wanders back to the interview Cornerian Sports Network conducted with me to show with this fight. I still remember how strange it was to be behind a camera and questioned about topics that weren’t military-related. The reporter was patient and kind and asked mainly about my readiness for a fight of this magnitude, but there’s one question that sticks out in my mind, one I was unable to truly answer. “What’s next for Jack Darcy?” she had asked, feline whiskers twitching as she looked up from her notes. I had been frozen to my seat, mildly caught off guard. What was next for me? What did I want? My life felt like it had been one crazy event after another, and I was just along for the ride. I remember answering something along the lines of doing whatever would make me happiest. It was purposefully vague but still the truth, even if I had no idea after all these years what would make me happy. I close my eyes, silencing the world around me for just one brief heartbeat in time, and, in that moment, I can almost hear the roar of the jet thrusters and feel the rushing wind of the landing aircraft that brought me to the first step of my journey to this stage. ---------- It was the first time I had ever seen anything so beautifully intricate and simplistic at the same time. My father, forever the mechanic, would go on for what seemed like hours about the elegant sturdiness of the Arwing, and he would explain the intricacies of its inner workings with such passion and excitement that I just didn’t have the heart to stop him despite my ten year-old brain’s inability to comprehend his technical ravings. When Katina’s annual air show rolled around, his normal excitement was only exaggerated. “Darcy men have always had a hand in the technological advancement of Lylat, Jack. We have a proud heritage in mechanical achievement.” He had told me as we took the public transport out to Katina Outpost. I had to have heard that line at least once a day from him, that goofy grin on his blunt red muzzle. I learned from my mother that this claim was fairly exaggerated but harmlessly so. My father genuinely loved his work and was proud to be a part of whatever project he was assigned to, so there was no reason to bring him back down to ground level and remind him that our family’s role in Lylat’s “technological advancement” was more of a fingerprint than a hand. I never gave mechanics much thought. It felt like a foreign language to me. It wasn’t until I saw the shining silhouette against the skyline that I caught a glimpse of my father’s excitement. It shot through the sky with such intense speed and managed to do it so effortlessly. “That's like the one James McCloud flew, right?” I asked as we climbed out at our stop, my mother keeping a firm hold on my shirt collar so as not to lose me in the crowd. “Yeah, it’s very similar.” He nodded with a serene smile, “It’s a newer version, a little more advanced. It’s one of Corneria’s top tier models.” “Cool,” my eyes lit up as I remembered once seeing the legendary pilot fly his Arwing on TV. “Let’s see if we can catch the last of its practice run.” My mom goaded me along with a smile. She didn’t need to tell me twice. My dad led the way through the crowd with me following at his heels. It was always easy to find him, thanks to the red of his fur and the stocky build of his bull terrier body. I took after my mother’s white and black coat, and between the three of us, it was hard to lose each other in a crowd. We came to the main runway of the airshow, and it was glorious. Aircraft in all shapes and sizes, from single-pilot fighters to massive air carriers, lined either side of the runway, and groups moved from one to another down the line. Booths were stationed at each craft, some informational, some from organizations associated with the outpost, and others recruitment for the Cornerian Defense Force. I watched the Arwing from before zip over the airfield and towards the outpost, bystanders cheering excitedly. “He’s going back to the hangar, and they’ll wheel the Arwing out to the show on the ground.” My dad explained. “We have some time, why don’t we have a look around?” My mom suggested, and she sauntered out with my dad, the hem of her pink sundress fluttering in the breeze. I followed behind, scittering around each craft we came across. Some of the booths had games, and others giveaway prizes. The CDF recruiters were holding various physical contests; several older teens tried their hand at the pull-up bar. One daring adult husky was strapped into a gyroscopic training wheel while watching a simulation through a VR headset. I saw a pair of my friends ooing and awing over the large carrier. All huddled together at the open docking ramp, they tried to sneak peeks inside the cargo bay. As soon as I came over to see them, we immediately fell into excited chatter. “The guy is giving tours of the inside.” My friend Max bounced excitedly on his feet, which made his floppy yellow ears bounce as well, “We’re waiting our turn to go in.” “Yeah, and we got the new kid to think there’s killer robots inside.” Hank, a blue heeler, snickered, “We told him the carrier was shipping defective robots and that it was running late and had to stop for the airshow with the robots still in the cargo bay.” “And…why are we telling him this?” I raised a brow in confusion. “Because he just went in for a tour, and when he comes out, we’re gonna record him screaming like a girl.” Max grinned. “It’s gonna be awesome.” Hank laughed, pulling out a miniature tablet from the pocket in his hoodie and unlocking it. “There’s no way he actually believes that. That’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard you guys come up with.” I rolled my eyes. They were normally good guys, but every now and then they would get a hold of a stupid idea. “Oh wait wait! Here he comes!” Max shushed me and ushered me aside while Hank set the camera on his tablet to record as a small group of people walked out with a Cornerian aircraft technician. The new kid they were talking about was trailing timidly at the back of the group. Grady Newell was a scrawny strange little cat gecko with deep reddish-brown scales, a thick curly tail and glittering silver eyes. He was in the same grade as us, but his size always made everyone think he was younger. He was afraid of everything and didn’t really talk to anyone, so no one knew much about him. This made him a pretty decent target for some of the bigger kids in the class. Max and Hank were just falling into the new fad as always. I watched as Max kept out of sight and sneaked around behind Grady on the ramp. “Hey Grady! How was it?” Hank called out, waving to the gecko. Grady waved with a shy smile, walking over to Hank, “It was really cool! But I didn’t see any of the—” Max jabbed his fingers into Grady’s sides with a loud “BZZZZT!” Sure enough, the color drained from Grady’s scales, and out came a shrill screech that nearly split my eardrums. Hank and Max howled in laughter as some of the nearby adults looked over at us in confusion. I felt my face and ears heat up in embarrassment. Grady had the good sense to run away from the attention he had caused. “Oh my god, I can’t breathe!” Max doubled over in laughter. “You guys, I think he peed himself.” Hank could barely get the words out. “Well I hope it was as awesome as you guys hoped.” I frowned uncertainly, “Can we go now? People are looking at us.” The rest of the afternoon, I was able to forget about my friends’ shenanigans with Grady. We roamed the airshow like we owned the place, checking out the fighters and touring the carriers. We even got to check out a flight simulation. As things began to die down, there was one last event, the one I had been waiting for. I said goodbye to Max and Hank and reunited with my parents to find a good spot for the Arwing flight demonstration. As everyone began to gather together, I noticed a familiar silhouette huddled under the wing of a small fighter, thick tail curled around him. Guilt churned in my stomach. Grady was always by himself, and the times he wasn’t weren’t much better. I knew I should have stopped Max and Hank from pranking him. Whether it was because I felt bad for him or for not stepping in, I wasn’t sure, but before I knew it, I was just a few steps away from him. He really did look pitiful. “Hey Grady?” I tried. The little gecko jumped slightly and looked over at me warily. I wasn’t sure how you could tell if a lizard had been crying, but I could tell somehow. “Listen,” I rubbed the back of my neck awkwardly, “I’m sorry about earlier. Max and Hank are idiots, but they’re not bad guys.” “Oh,” Grady sniffed, “It’s okay, I guess. It’s my fault for being so scared all the time.” “You have to admit it was a pretty lame lie. Killer robots? Really?” I couldn’t help but laugh. Grady cracked a smile too. “Yeah, I didn’t believe them at first. They seemed so sure, though, so I thought maybe it was true.” “Rule number one with Max and Hank: if they have to convince you of something, they’re probably trying to fool you.” I laughed, “So…are you by yourself out here?” Grady nodded, a somewhat proud gleam in his eyes, “Yep! My mom works evening shifts, but I have a tram pass so I can get home from school.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out a card with his picture and name stamped on it, “So I used it to come to the airshow. I wanted to see the new Arwing.” “Woah, that’s really cool!” My eyes widened impressed. I didn’t have a tram pass, “Well the Arwing is getting ready to take off. If we hurry, we can find a good spot to watch.” “Really?” Grady’s silver eyes sparkled hopefully. We took off back towards the crowd, squeezing our way through to find any kind of gap where we could see. Being a couple of the shortest kids in our class, we understood the struggle. Finally, we were able to find a small spot at the front, just big enough for us to share. We watched the pilot board the Arwing from a hovering monitor, the actual fighter being some distance away for safety. The slate gray peregrine falcon just oozed coolness. With a loud boom, the Arwing took off, and we watched it take sharp turn after turn, somersault in graceful loops. I heard Grady gasp in awe next to me at the swirling flash of light it created from its barrel roll. The two of us had never been happier. My parents offered to give Grady a ride home, and the entire way there, we chatted up a storm. Grady was actually a pretty cool guy. He was just as much a fan of James McCloud as I was, maybe even more, and he wanted to be a pilot when he grew up. We both collected and built model Arwings, liked a lot of the same TV shows, it couldn’t have been more perfect. We had no idea just how different our lives were going to be now that we had a friend in each other. -------------- Author's Note: And that concludes chapter 1! Keep an eye out for chapter 2, and thanks for reading. Shout-out to Tiger, Doc, Armin and Kurt for helping me name a couple of these characters!

    Star Fox: Re-imagined

(Unsure whether to post this in Fanfiction or General discussion, please move if needs be) So with Star Fox Zero branding itself as a "Re-imagining" of the Star Fox story, I thought to myself how I would reinterpret the furry filled Lylat system! This thread will be showcasing my personal take on Star Fox, so without further ado, lets dive in! THE LYLAT SYSTEM First off, a little pet peeve of mine- Where are all the moons? It always struck me as odd that the planets had a distinct lack of moons (Bolse notwithstanding) So in this universe Papetoon is Corneria's moon and was the first celestial body in the system to be terraformed. We'll get to the other two, but first- Solar. Solar has always been an odd one- Is it a Planet or Star? Well in my mind, it's a Planet (Despite what 6 year old me thought) but I've decided on making it a Gas Giant, because that's another thing Lylat seemed to be devoid of in my mind. Now onto its moons- Aquas and Fichina. Making them planet sized moons of a Gas Giant kills two birds with one stone- It satisfies my want for moons, and it deals with the issue of the system having too many planets that its unfeasible. The much loved Sectors X,Y and Z are still here, just not shown on this map since they're not technically in the system, just visible from certain planets. THE TIMELINE This timeline mainly covers the events before Lylat Wars/Star Fox 64 and is less of a re-imagining and more my interpretation of events. When creating this timeline I decided on a year in which the game's conflict would occur- 4096 (cookie for those that know how I got that number) I worked from there, doing Wiki searches to find character's ages and such. The Lylat Wars (4072 – 4102) This 30 year period saw 3 major conflicts throughout the Lylat System, the largest being the Vemonian War. Macbeth Civil War (4072-4074) The frontier industrial world of Macbeth had become divided politically between established corporations and immigrant population that was employed there. It eventually boiled over into full scale civil war, with the Cornerian Army being deployed to aid the rebel Immigrants. The Syndicate War (4084-4085) With many large scale Crime Syndicates growing in power in the outer system, the Cornerian central government declared open war in an attempt to crack down on illegal activity before it had a major impact on the central planets. The Vemonian War (4096-4102) The Vemonian War began after the exiled Dr. Andross formed the Vemonian Empire over the course of 7 years in order to become the dominant power in Lylat. The war spanned almost the entire system, even reaching Zoness. 12. Here is the main concept: Set in a (dark) timeline for ending 3. After Star Wolf had taken everything from him including the woman he once loved, Fox realized that because of Krystal he had brought nothing but shame and dishonor to the McCloud name. Unwilling to continue such a tortured existence, he turned toward his Samurai roots and decided that as penance he must commit ritual seppuku in order to die with honor. He however did not leave the world of the living alone, His remaining teammate, Falco, General Peppy, Bill Grey, and a few other old friends attended this ritual suicide and bowed their heads in respect once he had finished taking his own life. After His Burial, Fox's soul continued to roam lylat as a Yurei until the day he was taken in by an Inugami, a dog-like sorceror once believed to be nonexistent by modern Cornerians. With the help of the Inugami's black magic, Fox's soul evoles into a Onryo, a ghost (yūrei) believed capable of causing harm in the world of the living, harming or killing enemies, or even causing natural disasters to exact vengeance to redress the wrongs it received while alive then takes their spirits from their dying bodies. He is always accompanied by two hitodama (souls), one is James McCloud (blue colored) and the other is Fox's ancestor from 2,500 BLW (more aggressive ball of fire, colored red). As an Onryo, Fox relentlessly followed Star Wolf, appearing and manifesting before them in the form of terrifying visages and visions (once took the form of a Gashadokuro or a giant Fox skeleton that terrorized Star Wolf in one of their motherships) and intending to slay them one by one with his ghostly Katana and his bloodied Tanto while his eyes are set on Panther and Krystal. Thank's to the inugami's black magic, he has lost all sympathy toward "she who has broken his heart". and it seemed that not matter how many times they change motherships, he always follows them relentlessly. Partially inspired by the Japanese ghost story, Yotsuya Kaidan. anyone interested in writing a fanfic based on this concept ought to imagine this as a kabuki play rather than a normal fanfic. I'm telling anyone to write this as a kabuki play, just imagine it.
  13. Lylat Investigations. This is a new twist I am trying to take on Star Fox Fan fictions. Basically what will happen is that I will generate the story based on submissions I receive to my inbox or here for crimes and story progression. It’s almost an LA Noir type of deal, but rather than generate scenarios that will end up just benefitting myself and my characters, I want YOU the reader, to be thrown for loops and have you help me generate the story. (Those that do not violate forum rules) This will be set in modern Corneria in conjunction with the Star Fox timeline. Let’s say post 64 events. Peace has mostly returned to Corneria, but there is still crime rampant in the system. Follow Mark and the rest of his investigation crew as they solve crimes across Lylat. YOU can build this story, we just need to keep it within forum rules. Please don't suggest TERRIBLE Crimes. If no good suggestions are made within a good time-frame or those that I feel are ready at this time, I will withhold them and continue as is. PLEASE NOTE: If your idea is not picked, please do not take it personal. I may also combine multiple suggestions as they flow and seem fit for the story. You will see my notions for ideas to be selected with [SUGGEST HERE]

    star fox characters in fanfiction

-okay people,i'm sure almost everyone here is at least familiar with the fanfiction light of that, there's always certain things about fanon that drive people up the wall, myself any character portrayals or other 'tropes' you like, dislike or just notice, let's discuss. -for example ,i notice a few things: 1)creepy fox.people seem to write fox as being a loser (bad with girls,no social's probably true),or just plain old disturbed .(read a story when he kidnapped krystal from panther to win her love).wtf? (okay,i did it too,but still...) 2)wolf's mom was fat and/or had a bunch of kids...why do people think wolf's mom was fat/had a bunch of kids? 3)slippy gets no love 4)fox x wolf with no explanation? 5)krystal...just krystal

    StarFox: The Collapse

So yeah, I don't have much to say except that I've had this idea for about 3-4 years, but I only just now got around to writing it. xD I would be really happy if you guys could maybe read it *shameless advertising*. If it sucks feel free to chuck something at me. xD
