Leon
My copy arrived today, and the only issue I've had is overriding my muscle memory from the old games. That should dissipate over time, but I've had no serious issues playing the game otherwise.

I haven't even seen SFZ pop-up on the warawara plaza on the Wii U menu, which really fucking scares me. I really hope this isn't going to be the last Star Fox game. The game seems to be selling well on Amazon. it's even listed as #7 best seller on their video games page. Also, the game has received mostly positive reviews from users on Metacritic. Hidi
After looking at some reviews and previews of the game before release, I figured the game would be hampered by the gimmicky controls, which is unfortunate. (And people were just fine having to wave their arms around to aim in Splatoon.) I don't blame Nintendo for making the game more like SF64, as it was the formula that worked. The trouble always began when Nintendo ventured out of that formula, which is pretty specific, and doesn't allow a lot of room for change. But now trying to go back to the traditional game, some people believe Star Fox as a series can never be more than the same game
Animal Pilot
I see Zero as a melding of Star Fox 2 and 64, taking the best aspects of both along with using the Wii U gamepad in a fun way. And I think all these elements work very well together. Star Fox is, and will always be a rail shooter with a healthy amount of arena battles for variety. In fact I'd say Zero is about 50/50 of each. They can make spin-offs like Guard or have terrible on foot sections like Assault did, but keeping it a rail shooter doesn't mean they are making the same game over and over again. People make the same exact complaint about all Nintendo franchises being too safe and stagnant, so why should Star Fox be any different? The game just needs to sell well enough for those who want more rail shooting to buy sequels and life goes on.

Robert Monroe
I've been seeing Zero and Guard on the plaza since I started playing Zero myself.
Fookes
To be honest... I am a little scared... The reviews are mixed, the sales are not too good so far... And it is being bashed by the Nintendo fanbase too... I really don't want this to be the Star Fox team's last flight... Star Fox may be just a game series, but it means a lot to me. And I mean a LOT. See, because of my Asperger's, I tend to obsess over things, and my obsessions change as I get older. When I was little I was obsessed with ducks (Yes, ducks. Even as a 4 year-old I was weird) and later on I was obsessed with Batman, and then Star Wars, and now Star Fox. And to be honest, I think SF might be one of my biggest obsessions in my life. Whenever I'm bored and I have nothing else to do, I find myself looking up SF on the internet to try and find SF-related stuff I haven't seen before, and a majority of the time I find nothing new, mainly because the SF fandom is rather small... And even when I do find something new, I always have a craving for more!! Plus, my obsession also seems to override with my other interests such as Sonic the Hedgehog. What I mean is, even though I like the Sonic the Hedgehog series, whenever somebody talks about it I think to myself, "This is so boring! I wish s/he would talk about Star Fox!!" Also, all that I ever draw anymore are Star Fox characters!! I mean, I used to draw my old character, Sadie the Cat, who now that I look back at her was kind of a Mary Sue, and other cruddy characters that I made up too. BUT NOW LOOK! FOX AND KRYSTAL ARE ALL I EVER DRAW ANYMORE!!! GOOD GOSH!!!!1 Okay... I think I might be a bit too obsessed now that I think about it... In all seriousness, I really do hope Nintendo doesn't take this as "Oh! Nobody cares about Star Fox anymore!" and instead try and learn from their mistakes. Even if Zero got amazing reviews the series would probably be on a hold since the NX is just around the corner. Dev's need time to figure out a way around the system's limitation to give the player the best experience. The fan base really is small tho. When I was in middle school I would always go to SF-Online just to hear music but too bad almost no one in my school knew what star fox was! And then my school blocked SFO... Patch93
It's important to remember that the series has been on a hiatus for so long because Nintendo weren't able to narrow down a good idea for a Star Fox game that they felt would fit the Wii's capabilities. Does that excuse them for not making a game for so long? No of course not, but that's how it was. Furthermore, Miyamoto was only joking when he said he wouldn't make another Star Fox game if 643D didn't sell well. Considering how much passion he has given to the series recently, I doubt he even gives a shit whether or not Zero sells that well.
Robert Monroe
Miyamoto's said that this is the "year of Starfox" so I'm hoping we might see more stuff down the road, but I'm not holding my breath.

Owner/Technical Admin Sideways Posted May 6, 2016 Owner/Technical Admin Share Posted May 6, 2016 Star Fox Zero was a very fun game to play. I was for the most part able to play with traditional controls, only using motion controls when in the walker. It's apparent that most reviewers didn't give the game enough time to get used to the controls before they reviewed it. Sad.
