My answer, maybe. It's kinda lukewarm over here but, I need to set some money away if I want that Vista thing.

No, spent enough money on this darn computer as is. And apparently its not very good according to some people I know who've tried it. I'm sticking with what I've got for now.

I think I will stay with XP for some more years :D, windows wista has a hell out of requirements if you want to fully enjoy all the features.

It took me five years to upgrade from Win98 to XP. I don't give a damn about Vista, let me tell you.

Did a bit of research on it for a paper... I'm not that impressed from what I've read... If I need a new computer I'll think about it...

Yeah, even the "personal/home version" needs 20GB of diskspace..  and yes, I've read that it reminds a bit of OS X.. I'm fine with my XP, I've not even uppdated it in a while...  Don't got SP2 yet even :hehe:; ...

According to many people in FA forums who are well-knowledgeable in computers and thingamagiks,  most stated that XP is still a better way to go.

I'm not going to get it.  It just seems too soon that we have a new operating system from Microsoft; it seems like only yesterday that XP was released, though I may be wrong.  Also, from what I hear, you have to have some really high system requirements to even use the thing, which to me is a waste of money anyway.  I mean, come on.  You shouldn't have to upgrade your entire computer JUST to use the next OS.

I guess another reason why is that I'm currently a near-broke college student, which should explain everything.

And from what I heard, if you have dual core processors, it will only use one O.o

What the heck?  Where did you hear that, Wolfox?  That's just stupid, right there.

Check this out, it's a guy trying to program using Vista's "speech wreck-cognition" technology.

A barrel roll full of laughs, but some cussing.

For the single core: http://forums.amd.com/lofiversion/index.php/t89310.html

Anyway, the voice recognition, from what I heard, is good. It's just that the person is playing (is he) dumb.

uh, and isn't that a "beta version" of that voice-recognision thing?

but well.. of what I've heard, Vista works just fine for XG.

I tough the Premium-Version was the most advanced one before.. but there is acutally a "Ultimate Version" too.

I probally gonna try it at some computer-store as soon as I can, Im curious.

(yes i've tried MacOSX, and it was nice, but werid.)

I aint getting it. I am happy with XP cause I am used to it and it reminds me of my formar older life. I remember I used windows 98 all the way to 2003 cause I hate changing my configurations. Plus from what I heard Vista has a thing where microsoft can go and delete any illegal stuff on your comp (example roms, music, pirated software) (which means a poor guy like me cant use photoshop or listen to music or play older games) and basically I heard you cant use many older programs with it as well. I am sticking to XP forever probably. Plus the idea it reminds people of Mac OS makes me not wanna get it cause I hate Mac OS. Yeah I am biased against apple cause I never really liked them.

Holy cow, it goes through your computer and deletes all your illegal stuff?  I may have said before that I'm never getting Vista, but now I'm REALLY REALLY not getting it.  Geesh.  It sounds like something that Microsoft collaborated with the federal government on...

Vista's actually pretty cool, the only real problem is compatibility and just getting it to work right.  Most things run just fine though, but there's always those few programs that put up a fight.  Games right now are having a TON of problems, that's where the compatibility REALLY shows that it's not quite working yet.  Programs (not games) seem to work fine all the way around, but hardware's something else for the time being.  My all in one Epson pinter/scanner/copier thing isn't compatible with Vista yet because a driver hasn't been developed for that series yet... if your hardware drivers aren't updated to the Vista releases, you're gonna be hurting.

Windows Sidebar... dang.  That's the coolest thing they've come up with yet.  :}

Not to mention it looks great, I like the new layout of stuff compared to XP... takes some getting used to, but it's pretty awesome.

I've never heard of the thing where it goes through and deletes all your illegal stuff... that and there's not one.

Paint's still there, and FireFox works great on Vista.  :}

Uh... never heard that one, Wolfox... and like, I have a dual core now, and it uses both.  >.>

Vista =/= Mac OS X.  Not even close.

I'd say get it (I didn't have a choice, it came preinstalled for me :/), but I'd suggest waiting for at least Service Pack 1 before doing so.
