Mr. Krystal
I think we had a bit more success with the Meebo chats. You didn't have all the lock-outs you have with IRC blocks on campuses and it's easier to invite newcomers. I want to try to keep them on Saturday evenings if possible, so let's keep trying that for a while.
DZComposer
Quakenet has been disappointing to me as well. I've been looking into alternatives (I can't stand meebo, so I'm not quite ready to move back to it). There is one open source solution I am interested in called PHP Free Chat that would be our own private chat server. It shouldn't have too much overhead, and we shouldn't even need a database for it. The user end looks like this: It uses standard CSS so we could even make it visually match the site. I can even add the fourm smilies to it (with some effort). absoludicrous91
OK, here's the deal. I am going on a long trip, so I may not be as active as before. However, owning a new iPod touch as I do, I should stay in contact with this site, and probably will make Saturday's talk. Still, there's a chance that I won't get there. Mr. Krystal
Sounds good DZ. I had looked at similar solutions before, but they were inadequate. If this one works well, that should be fine.

Star Fox Runner
I checked the chat multiple times and no one showed, so I gave up. Sorry Dwight.
DZComposer
This week, I'm going to be standing up the AMP stack on my laptop to try out that php chat software. If I like it, I will upload it as an active test. If we as a community like it, then: SMF Integration! :D
Dr. Wilopolis
Hmm... I REALLY need to remember that SF-O has a chat. :D
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
Well, I saw this video on YouTube that was some guys speed run of the original Star Fox, and my got he was good. He got 10% on his final score at the end, and he killed almost every enemy. Seeing guys like him play the old Star Fox games make them seem so easy, that's why I hope the next game is a bit harder, so you can't breeze through the game in just a little bit of time. DZComposer
I ran into an issue and was not able to test it yet. I'll try for next week.
Star Fox Runner
When I use the chat, I use my own chat server, not the one based at SFO, because I can never get that to work for me. So if we change chat servers, how do I get to it using ChatZilla?
DZComposer
You mean client. If you used a different server, you couldn't talk with us. Anyway, it will be an integrated, non IRC, chat system on SFO's own server instead of someone else's IRC server. ChatZilla likely won't work with it.
