I've never heard that Miyu or Fay were supposed to be Fox's love interest, and I can't find any data to back it up either. Then again, I've never played SF2. Where do you get your information stating that they would have been his love interest? There was that possibility, in the SF2 Alpha there was Fara (Called Lady in the Alpha, note that in the comic, Fara had romantic involvement with Fox.), and Saru (An Andross look-alike). In the next build of Star Fox 2, Fara became a lynx known as Miyu and Saru became a sheep, then Nintendo switched the positions of the two characters. In the final build, they replaced the sheep with Fay. So if Fara and Miyu are the exact same character, despite species, and Fara had romantic involvement with Fox, Miyu could do the same. And there you go. But hold on a second. Nintendo changed the character in development. You can't have a pre-release character (or character info) as part of Star Fox canon even if SF2 was released. I know none of us would want this to happen, but maybe the reason Miyu wouldn't be around for Star Fox Adventures would be she died, and Fay left the team to start a more casual life style.
