MASTERMARIOMAN
Why are all gamecube Roms in torrent files? I just wanted to know because I can't use Utorrent or Bittorrent!
Mr. Krystal
While you're not allowed to ask where to get them here, I will explain the use of torrents for this matter. Torrents allow for fast downloads of large files. A hub-less distributed download that torrents provide means that the more people want the file, the BETTER the download. As opposed to typical files hosted on a server, which get slower the more people want it. Torrents tend to be preferred for larger files because of the strain that they can place on a single server. However, more importantly, ROMs are illegal. A torrent isn't stored on ONE server, so there's nowhere to attack if Nintendo wanted to raid the copiers. A torrent's file is stored on lots of people's personal PCs all over the world. There's no way to attack it directly.
