Why can't u just admit that not every one likes krystal for being an attractive character? You just can't seem to be able to grasp that, and there for seems very one sided.

than Krystal. And we are just counting the movie... for there is a book 'about him'.

So, what is the purpose of all this Krystal talkie-talk? Simply, to turn on fanboys. I mean,

we can all have fantasies, but let's not be... uh, blind. Krystal may be a nice girl to be with,

yeah, but other than her 'girl shapes', she is little more than that. A thread about going out

with her would not bother me if there was a thread about going out with any of the other of the

SF-O character before, and althrough the argument would still be weak, Fox, for example, is

a little more developed. At least he has the 'honor' of being the hero. Whereas Krystal is just

the "damsel-in-distress / sexy girlfriend" secondary role.

She may be 'aligned with good'.

She may have traits which can be respected.

But likewise, she:

May have sexual connotations (Saurian outfit).

Has a skill comparable to that of Slippy's in-flight,

without Slippy's valuable out-flight skills.

Does not have any outstanding abilities outside her

telephaty.

So, how is she 'a role' to you? I am not to be offensive,

but really... fanboism is fanboism. It is much like as if

I blindly defended, uh, fascism. It is full of faluts.

I am not trying to offend you, just being pragmatic on

Let's see....(since most of you hate SFC, I'm skipping the story of that one)

1.-Female lead character. Alright, we have a ton of those, maybe not as many as male characters, but yeah, that's not a reason. Also, she leads what?. On adventures, she got captured, so she did nothing. On assault....yeeeah, the only useful thing she did was tell you the weak points of stuff, which was already pretty much obvious. Also, peppy was still a better wingman anyways.

2.-Being part of SF team. Alright, maybe the whole team needed a female , but that's it. According to assault, her skills on the arwing, landmaster, or foot missions are just average to the best (according to the multiplayer chart). She has the wicked telekinesis power, so point there. That's the only thing she's providing. IF we take starfox to its core, staff combat is worth crap if you get shot down easily from your spaceship.

3.-Being the love interest of Fox. That's just dumb, Fox got the hots for her because of how she looks, fox even got that short "wooow sexy" music in adventures. Let's not forget fox had other love interests if we go further back. So yeah, this point is dumb. Fox and krystal spent like 2 minutes or so together on adventures, how's that enough to make up a relationship? It's all sexual to that point. Now , on assault. If I recall well, a year passed from adventures to assault, so that's enough time to develop something, right? Well, nintendo didn't really care about that so, they didn't put any kind of sidestory or what happened between those two, so we could just assume they stayed as friends. But oh snap, we have that mission on Sauria and that awkward part at the end of it, which leads to think that there's something going on there, but that's it. It's not well enough developed thanks to nintendo and plot holes. Then again, is this a valid reason to like her?

4.-She's a female. "facepalms" ....seriously?

5.-Her telepathy/telekinesis. Soo, she can use mind powers, I'll take that. Aside "emotion" reading, has the ACTUAL story said something about using this as a real weapon? aka, something like starwars force powers.Liking her because she has special powers could be valid. But liking her because she kicks butt because of this? really doesn't seem like a good reason.

6.-Her staff. The staff is not part of her, so there. Not a valid reason. She's a staff user? that's a reason, but pretty shallow.

7.-Her personality.On adventures, we can only see her as "caring for the defenseless" and stubborn. On assault, she still seems as caring and stubborn and now friendly. But really on a overall picture, she's still an underdeveloped character at the best. This part is better left to one's imagination, since we don't really know too much about her. And I'm being REALLY humble with this, cause milky seriously resumed the way she acts (check reply #28)

8.-She's an anthro character. ........seriously? is this a valid reason?

9.-Her backstory. I'm sorry, too shallow. Too common among sci-fi "my whole civilization went into doom mode, onnoes, I'm all alone"

10.-Her flaws. ....Oook, I have nothing to debate against this. You win. Though, her flaws, alongside with her "goods" are mostly underdeveloped.

If you think krystal is the best of the "wow best" power to you (anyone), however, I'm going to have to agree that claiming that she's a deep character is really BS. If you like to live on fan written stories, then sure, go for it, imagination is good.

So think about this ,if you like krystal because of how she is, and not for how she looks, would you still like her if she was on the heavy side(not extreme, let's just say just chubby) and/or if she was a toad instead of a vixen?

I'm not siding with anyone, I'm just looking at valid points, there are some, yes, but there are million other characters that have the same + better and more developed trends than krystal.

I'm starting to believe this is all because she's an anthro character, that happens to appear in a videogame, is playable and has a lot of people drawing her in many ways. Or maybe some of you like her because she's a big question mark? as in, puzzling and "misterious" or simply because of:

Also, Krystal can talk to dinosaurs, and dinosaurs are pretty awesome, but then again, that's more of a stating that dinosaurs are awesome, she can talk to something that is awesome, rather then stating she is awesome.

Nice post. Though the point you failed to address is why I kept mostly out of this thread in the first place, the idea that simply demanding to justify a characters worth itself makes all characters shallow. That people are starting with a preference and working backwards looking for excuses, rather then looking at the character and forming an opinion.

I simply feel most folks that like her just like her because she's something else rather than what she really is. Then, this means they are creating a whole new character to fit a daydream.

I see characters like krystal as one of those incomplete "artworks" that people give away so other people would finish them how ever they want, fitting personal standards or possibly group requirements.

EDIT:

However, we also have people like Mr Krystal, who gave some good developed reasons. Although he stated many times "she's not the best of the best" which creates fairness towards of what krystal really is, he proved a point.
