When I saw the title I pictured something very tame and stupid but horrifying for the date. Like the Phantom Mysterious Gentleman Who Lifts Frocks Above Ankles.

I remember seeing this in a documentary about the history of the American horror genre. It was a critical failure at the time because back then this was considered "scary".

Very interesting to see. I especially enjoyed how the music was implemented to contemplate the horror. It's too bad the beginning was a bit pixelated, but other than that, it was fantastic. I was impressed by the special effects used (for the year 1910) in the scene where Frankenstein is being created.

Quite a riveting showcase if I do say so. I found the exotic effects so life like it seems as if the creation was quite alive. Woe is the fact I was shivering in my chair at the sight.

 

And for a second I thought the mystery of life was interpretive dance.
