ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN! - The Hype Thread

So I want to try a thing that's sorta like the "Good News Everyone" thread only it's got a more modern approach to it and deals with all the hype.

Only two rules:

1. It needs to be uber hype level news.

2. Post a hype train image with it. The funnier, the better.

This is sorta old news, but there's still mega hype. Windows 10 will be a free upgrade for 8.1 users.

I preordered the new 3DS and it's coming out IN ONE WEEK.

And here I have no plans of getting the "New" 3DS XL, especially when mine is still working fine. I may just get a Circle Pad Pro XL instead.

It's been days and nobody's come in here to hype the most obvious shit to be hyped about:

Nah, its fine. I had never even heard of Persona until about 2 years ago.

But you guys should probably try to remedy that and give it a go. Might find it fun.

Do feel afraid. The mob is on the way.

Oh, I mean uh....PERSONA IS AMAZING 10/10 BEST SERIES WHY HAVEN'T YOU PEOPLE PLAYED IT YET? WHAT ARE YOU, SOME KIND OF PLEB? LAZERMASTER, JEROSCOPE, FIX THIS. NOW.

I'm digging the PRR T-1. It looks good in that color, though I've never seen a photo of one in that color:

EDIT: Ah, someone made this for TF2. It's the RED variant. Interestingly, though, Maroon was a PRR color and they did paint some other locos that color.

I'm conflicted when it comes to what loco would pull my hype train.

The most beautiful streamliner ever, the NYC J3 Dreyfuss Hudson?

It's a damn shame that none were preserved.

The largest steam loco ever built, the UP Big Boy?

This particular Big Boy is a hype train in its own right. UP re-bought it and is restoring it to operating condition!

The loudest locomotive ever built, the bridge-melting UP Gas Turbine?

Yeah, pretty much jet-powered. Wasted a fuckton of fuel, though.

Perhaps the elegant SP 4449?

Or maybe a DD40X, the largest diesel locomotive...

This is probably the closest to a real-life hype train you can get.

Moving Big Boy 4014 from LA, California to Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Funfact about the diesels actually doing the work: the leader is the current UP 4014, an SD-70M. The one behind it, 4884, is a reference to 4-8-8-4, the Big Boy's wheel arrangement: 4 leading axles, 8 driving axles, 8 more driving axles driven by a separate engine, and 4 trailing axles. The PRR T1 is also articulated, but it's a 4-4-4-4.

-snip-

I need to point out there were two things that annoyed me about the train scene in Spiderman 2. That scene was actually filmed in Chicago and not NYC, and the elevated train model that was used in the film was never used by the NYC MTA.
