Firefox: SSL data packet too long

Clearwater

Question

Okay, so for some reason when I use Firefox at school, every time it tries to connect to Google and Youtube (It seems
to only be those two websites), Firefox instatainiously fails to connect saying that the SSL has recieved a data packet
which is too long (Error code 'ssl_error_rx_record_too_long' ). This happens every time I use my session at school. I am
able to connect to Google after about half an hour of using it, but I have to ask why it refuses to let me connect
first-time around. Anyone here have any ideas why?

Does your school have a Web filter? Some schools use a Web filter to make sure students don't look up porn or play games when they are supposed to be working. Back in middle school, YouTube was blocked on the school computers.

It does, but these days, the restriction on Youtube has been slightly relaxed. If I try to acess a site that is blocked, it does come up with its own 'Site blocked' page.
