    • ...take the penny out of the lock, so the security of the hall isn't compromised for convenience.

    • ...leave the penny in the lock so that others don't have to go through the trouble of swiping their card for access.

This is a "What-would-you-do" situation.  The question is pretty self-explanatory.

A little explanation on the locks in this scenario:  Upon getting to your floor in the residence hall from the stairwell, you have to swipe your ID card in the card scanner next to the door in order for the latch to flip open so you can open the door to the floor.  Pennies are often seen jamming these latches so the card isn't needed.

Option 1. Two reasons:

1) People who lived in my dorms were utter retards and I didn't like any of them. Screw their lazy asses.

Definately take the penny. You wouldn't want to jeopardize the security of your living quarters. And I too, get to be a penny richer. :lol:

Yes, I would definitely take the penny, too.  You have no idea how many pennies of racked up out of people's laziness.  ESPECIALLY on moving days.  :lol:
