Guest Pyre Vulpimorph
I've tried Googling "Star Fox schematics" and "Great Fox blueprints" and all variations thereof, but it has only regurgitated stuff on Star Trek and Star Wars. Poohey, hasn't anyone taken the time to lovingly detail the inside of our favorite Dreadnought-class battleship? The internet is devoid of blueprints for the Great Fox. I declare a contest to see who can either find and/or draw a decent schematic of the ship. Bow, stern, port side, starboard side, spine, and belly are all recommended, but not necessarily all required. The winner gets unlimited bragging rights. And a cookie. o_O

TakeWalker
There aren't any schematics because it's not that important and there's no canon description. That being said, I applaud the attempt at inspiring creativity. Let's get some stuff goin' here!
Guest Pyre Vulpimorph
Here is a STAR TREK schematic of the OUTSIDE of the Enterprise. (warning: 750 Kb) http://www.strekschematics.utvinternet.com/bprintlinks/fed/ente/entebprint.jpg While something on that level is certainly NOT necessary for the Great Fox, I think that can be used as a kind of standard, of sorts. Also, details of the inside of the ship are also what I'm after, not just the exterior. EDIT: Desired Interior Shots: Bridge (easiest) Engineering Dorsal shuttle bay Ventral hangar bay (2nd easiest) Crew quarters Mess hall Meeting room Armory hydroponics? random hallways? ...And basically anything else you can think of. Four-eyed Vulpine
I'll probably post pages here as I finish them. This is going to be one heck of a project.
Four-eyed Vulpine
Here's the first piece! Front half, upper level. Each grid square represents 10 x 10 feet. This is only a rough draft, I'll add more details once the whole ship is completed. Probably in three more parts. I'm sure you guys will have plenty of questions, so ask away. Mr. Krystal
Wow, that's really good Four-eyed. I wonder if, when you finish, we could do most of the blueprint in one of those house designer programs.
TakeWalker
A decent drawing, and more importantly, well thought out. Attention has been given to details and living arrangements. When this contest was suggested, I was unpleasently reminded of a Great Fox internals sketch I saw a very long time ago, that consisted of "HEERZ BRIJ & HEERZ SIMOOLATERZ & HEERZ DA RWINGZZZZ". I'm pleased to see this is a far cry from that. ^v^
Four-eyed Vulpine
Ok, this next part isn't really part 2 of the full blueprint, but more of a detailed depiction of a room, including dimensions. Behold, Falco's domain. The cleanest room I've EVER seen. [/sarcasm] o_O
Mr. Krystal
Nice. Don't know how I feel about the Earth references, but it gets the point across.

(Still, if Falco requires a stack of 50 playboy holocrons, I'm a little worried about his psychological health... )
PuffNStuff
.... *grabs new $1300 computer and install auto cad* (professional arcutectual and mechanical design software) In case you're wondering.... yes.... It will be a while..... and yes, I needed a new comp for it. it requires 2gb of RAM just to RUN!!!! that is one hungry program..... thinking about desinging an arwing as well.... Four-eyed Vulpine
Uh-oh, someone's bound and determined to top me with an expensive program that I don't have. I MUST PERSEVERE!!!
PuffNStuff
..... I actually traded for it. I traded my $50 speaker amp for the program. Needless to say, i got the great part of the bargain, but the thing is, the program cost me $1300 while the other guy didn't even have use for it! So yeah I came out ahead in a way lol. But yeah, its great because I even know how to use it VERY well! Engineering college here I come!

PuffNStuff
I just realized something.... If you EVER played unreal tournament, you would know that it comes with a editing software for the Unreal Engine. Allowing you to create your own environments. Now I have seen so MANY impressive layouts. From dorm rooms to blood gulch! Why not create a great fox?.... If someone did do this, it would be also navigatable by people. now that would rock. To bad I don't know how to use the Unreal editor.....

Star Fox Runner
I think it would be hard to make a schematic of the inside of the Great Fox (unless you manage to do a very good job), because to me, the size and mass of the outside of the ship are disproportionate to the inside. IE, when the Arwings launch out of the docking bay, all four can launch out of the bay door at the same time, BUT, whenever it shows the ships launching out of the bay from the outside, the bay entrance can only fit one, so if you were to draw a schematic, you better do a good job on the size-mass ratio. PuffNStuff
Yeah, it is going to be a long project. I plan to do it by floors lol. Then once I get the proper outline of the hull, i have to put a lot of things into consideration. Oxygen, power, signal lines (p.l.c input and output lines, for automatic doors and security drones and other automatic funtions) and hydrolic lines, armor and shild generators. Engines and fuel storage. Vehicle storage and hangars. (I need proper measurements for the vehicles in order to do this right) Cannons, and other weapons. Armory and of course crew quarters. Which (no offense to you four eyed vulpine) Corneria is a little past CRT's and big bulky speakers. Hell us humans just got into tv screens that are on a paper like substance so the tv itself can BEND! Lol, and a gym. So yeah you could fill up the void inside that hull pretty darn quickly! But that is a lot to draw, no matter how you do it. My new comp is almost done and I should have it by next week. If i am not distracted by any nice games that I could not currently play with my current set up (like FEAR, C&C 3) I will start it as soon as I get it. The project won't be done for a few months but I will show off rooms, or floors as I complete them. Since I know how to draft, maybe I could even get to make a cut away veiw and show it off, with the outer full and all! Maybe even have a 3d tour made so that anyone could walk through the ship. Or rather be taken on a tour. lol I CAN'T WAIT TO GET STARTED!!!!

Hell us humans just got into tv screens that are on a paper like substance so the tv itself can BEND! If everything was based on the technology of the Cornerians, you could probably fit the WORLD into his bedroom, regarding data volume. Think of the nearly infinite details required for all you can cram into his living space. Besides, regarding the art, what would you recognize better? A big speaker, or a one square-inch panel on the wall that produces hundred-fold sound and quality?
