Four-eyed Vulpine
Here is part 2. Rear half, main level. Hopefully I can fuse both ends plus the upper level wings into the same shot for my third part. Then I'll work on the engine level above the bay. And the back end by the bay doors is 330 feet wide. PuffNStuff
Thats a great layout dude! But, you have some flaws, like I see that you have a med bay there. If there was a medical emergency wouldn't you want there to be a door opening directly to the med room? Which brings up the subject of a missing armory lol. Another thing, 270ft is almost the length of a football field, for four arwings and a little extra, don't you think it should be a little smaller? If only they had put out detailed pictures of the Great Fox's interior, then this would be a lot easier. Four eyed, what you got here is not only a design, but one of the first layouts for the ship. (for what I know anyways) So far great job! Especially by hand, seriously great job! I am holding my program in my hand right now, still gawking at the system requirements, hell even doom3 required less than this! Paper isn't looking to bad, I have never seen paper cost $1300! If everything was based on the technology of the Cornerians, you could probably fit the WORLD into his bedroom, regarding data volume. Think of the nearly infinite details required for all you can cram into his living space. Besides, regarding the art, what would you recognize better? A big speaker, or a one square-inch panel on the wall that produces hundred-fold sound and quality? Lol you probibly could fit the world in his room, BUT if you have a computer in your room, guess what, you now have the whole !NT3RN3T! in your room, which means yes. You do have the whole world in your room already, right now, as we speak, like right now, some kid in Russia could read what I am typing! You can get ANYTHING... literally ANYTHING off the internet, data and program wise. (If you try hard enough, you can get anything free too) I have yet to see anyone get aids from the internet. Isn't global networking beautiful? (Waits for the Cisco commercial, "Welcome, to the human network") Another thing I would put inside the Great for would be a huge fabrication shop. You never know what kind of custom death dealing things the starfox team would need! Basiclly, we need to make this ship as independant as possible! I might even put some hydro farms in or something. PuffNStuff
*grabs older version of Acad* Time to get started..... this version works with my comp! First I am going to do a test and do a secon of hallway. I will post a pic as soon as I am done! -edit- Or not, I got some errors with my OP system, I got some reg. files missing, maybe because my version of windows is a stipped version. Looks like I am forced to wait anyways. Darn!

The armory is in the front half, and is divided into weapons, armor, and supplies. I based the length of the bay on the Assault footage, as the Arwings were launched out by arms attached to the ceiling. There was definitely some distance involved, from what I could tell. Lol you probibly could fit the world in his room, BUT if you have a computer in your room, guess what, you now have the whole !NT3RN3T! in your room, which means yes. I mean, sure, you can access the world from the Internet, but can you DOWNLOAD and STORE the entire Internet on your own computer? That's what I'm getting at. Alright, part 3 is finished and is a combination of parts 1 and 2, with the inclusion of the upper wings.
PuffNStuff
DAMN YOU U.S POSTAL SERVICE FOR TAKING SO LONG!!!!!!.... i know that some important component is going to be dropped by some postal noob now......i hate irony Actually, I was referring to data storage. I mean, sure, you can access the world from the Internet, but can you DOWNLOAD and STORE the entire Internet on your own computer? That's what I'm getting at. Why would you want all that data sored in your room? Wouldn't there be a central server room? Besides that, the server could also serve as the main computer. Just like a computer with multiple logons and those logons would be able to logon at the same time provided you got another monitor. But you wouldnt need a seperate a HD, CPU, RAM, GPU. just "human" intferface devices would be all you need to be on a comp on the great fox. Well, the solid state storage HD is actually great for storing masses for data.... for short amounts of time. it isn't perfcted yet and there fore not realesed. But with time, you could store 5000 terabytes in a drive the size of a medium book. Thats a solid chunk of the internet right there.... (thats A LOT of porn...as you know, the internets is mostly porn!)
Mr. Krystal
OH! So that was the rear bay! In that case, I see a MAJOR missing component in your design. Thanks to the Sector Z stage on SF64, we know that an Arwing can travel through the ship from the rear bay to the frontal bay, and in a relatively short period of time. You might want to shorten the bay and provide room for a craft elevator/mass mover tunnel. It would probably take up a significant portion of lower levels. Additionally, the true future of high density data storage is holographic storage. Capable of doing something that most other media can't, store a multiple sets of data in the exact same space. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holographic_memory
PuffNStuff
I agree, but Holographic memory should NOT be confused with 3d solid storage, Holographic uses one beam to write into a surface using different wavelengths to read and write, allowing it to store it and read it using ONE beam. 3d storage uses 3 beams and at the intersection of those 3 beams is where it is either written or read. ANYWAYS, The great fox has 2 bays. If you go by the 64 version, there is a bottom bay. For "pit stops" and launching the blue marine. there is also a higher hangar which is above the engines and is under the top wing (i think it is called the dorsal) anyways, Foureyed has it good so far! Four-eyed Vulpine
Where the hell are all of these bays coming from?! My primary focus is on the Assault design, and as far as I know, there's just that huge bay in back. Oh, and Puff, lets drop the whole data thing, we're just misunderstanding each other. :P

Before the first mission, the team launches from it during a cutscene. From what I can tell in the games, ships launch from the forward bay and land in the rear one. This means there is at least one large lift shaft running between those 2 decks.

There's only one time we see a craft enter the forward bay, and that's the Landmaster on the Titania level in SF64.

PuffNStuff
Its like.... designing a spindle for your go kart, having the entire steering assembly all affixed to the spindle. Four-eyed Vulpine
Or I could just add large portal screens that lower from the ceiling to allow Arwings to pass from one bay to the other. Kind of like Stargates.

Kind of like Stargates. Deus ex machina translation That's awfully convenient. Just reduce the depth of the rear bay by the length of an Arwing, and call it an "Elevator." Then, on lower floors, have it extending diagonally through the ship towards the front bay.
Four-eyed Vulpine
Do the Arwings JUST launch out of the front, through? Or is it either one?
Mr. Krystal
Do the Arwings JUST launch out of the front, through? Or is it either one? The only time, to my knowledge, that the back bay was even used as to recieve Arwings and Krystal's ship in Adventures. Nothing has ever launched out of it. Four-eyed Vulpine
Here's another closeup of a selected room in the Great Fox, this time the mess hall. I added the blueprints of surrounding rooms to this one. Those are the worst looking tables I have ever seen.
